The protean's tiger wounds are closing!

Faeron moves away from the enemies, with a pair of them swiping at him as he goes:

    Elemental AoO Slam: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (16) + 23 = 39 for DMG: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (8, 1) + 8 = 17 and Elec: 2d8 ⇒ (1, 7) = 8

    Protean AoO Bite: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30 for DMG: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 1) + 7 = 9

The gunslinger shoots this new elemental, causing some crackling of energy...

Angrid calls forth a tiger, perfectly formed, and straight of stripe. It lays into the protean with calculated skill. The very first hit nearly spins the creature around! The second claw connects, but the creature morphs and changes to avoid being grabbed. Even as it fights back, it looks directly at Angrid...

Did it just hear me and know my square or do I get the sense that it looked me directly in the eyes like it could see through my invis?

OK. Wouldn't matter as Angrid flubbed the knowledge roll. Just a reminder, I have nondetection up :P so they need to make a DC 26 caster level check to see me, unless its something non magical like blind sight / sense.

I think you hitting things with a sword is pretty good. I am thinking more along the lines of use spell casters.

No real hamper. I am out of big summons. I may try my hand at a haggle of lantern archons and hope the d3 dice gods will be nice to me.

Yeah, and the tiers all have their own creative encounters. I've now seen every tier from level 5 up. It's a really well balanced special.

So we have 2 days left. In person, the high tier almost never finishes. Each round can be twice as long as a lower tier table. This is the closest I've ever seen a Tier 10-11 table come to the end. Can we do it?!

I agree on great encounter mix. If these things had been evil, I think this would have gone faster. Non-evil enemies that smite law and easily hit metal armor - that is too cruel for paladins :-P lol

Zafnir's mystery power explodes in the midst of both proteans!

The elder elemental focuses on the cleric, giving Val two massive, sparking slams:

    Slam 1: 1d20 + 23 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 23 + 3 = 36 for DMG: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (3, 3) + 8 = 14 and Elec: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7

    Free Grab: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (3) + 25 = 28 IT tries to grab the tiger!

The other begins to twist into impossible shapes, warping the very fabric of the Prime Material Plane: Warping of reality: 1d20 ⇒ 8 Angrid needs to make a DC 20 fortitude save or be staggered for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds!

    It then bends space forward and bites down on the angular tiger Bite: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36 for DMG if hit: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 2) + 7 = 14

The green dire tiger take 52 points of damage but is healed 27 for a total of 25 taken.

Angrid's tigers continue their work. The radiant tiger brings down the protean! Though unconscious, the wounds begin to close still. When the axiomatic tiger joins in, it tears the protean to pieces. It's very essence scatters about the tower. The wizard proper casts a scorching ray of his own. The elemental avoids all but one of the rays. Huh, immune to stun, but not daze... Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27. It crackles in laughter at the wizard's paltry attempt.

Thank you, Faeron, for the clarification; for some reason, I had it in my head that if a Spiritual Ally couldn't hit due to SR, it'd have to go to a different target (if any) to try again. The way you mentioned does make a lot more sense.

If it's okay by you, Dungeon Master S, could I retcon my taking out that Wand of Owl's Wisdom from my haversack? It's really only used to increase the Spiritual ally's attacks for the most part.

For the Interstellar Void, those are already gone- so Val made the perfect choice with using the Spray instead. :)

Also noticed, upon reviewing my spell usage, that I had forgot to do the SR check for that last Spear of Purity, but since it missed and had no effect, I figured it can be left alone. ;)

    Round 5, for fighting.

Zefnir will be able to get to Faeron and Angrid in this round and heal or lesser restore them in the next.

Seeing that casting another Spiritual Ally is no longer an option, Zefnir opts to use his final Spray of Shooting Stars upon these Heralds of Chaos, taking care to not hit any of his allies or their tigers.

    SR, if applicable: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21.

    Spray Damage: 10d4 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 1, 1, 4, 3, 2, 2, 1) = 22 Fire damage to both remaining Proteans. DC 19 Reflex Save for half damage.

Zefnir then flies over to where Angrid and Faeron are, seeing that they both are in need of healing or curing.

That's that for the Spray, now all the combat based revelations are used up over here. ;)

Round 6 and maybe even 7, if needed to bot again.

Zefnir can heal Faeron with a Cure Serious Wounds or heal Angrid with a Lesser Restoration. He can be moved as needed, or he can spend the move action to switch his battle aspergillum with his metamagic rod of reach via his scabbard of many blades.

Otherwise, Zefnir does have 3 Spear of Purity spells to spare, if needed. The proteans should be within the required 50' range of the Spears from where he is at.

It's why in my opinion daze is better than stun. You can get it earlier / cheaper and the only monster type immune to daze is a behemoth. All those other types that are immune to stun can be dazed (constructs, oozes, plant, undead, elementals)

Also, which tiger? The celestial (red) or the resolute (green).

I think that Faeron is also injured, but Val's channel should help with his current HP totals.

Round 6, no need to bot this round.

As Val's second channeling helps heal up some of Faeron's wounds, Zefnir decides that he could see to Angrid's fatigued condition instead. Angrid's invisibilty is gone, I think?

Flying over to the Bloatmage Researcher, Zefnir casts Lesser Restoration upon Angrid.

"This will take a while, Researcher Luin, so it would be best to not move too far away from me while I see to your condition of fatigue."

Looks like Rounds Seven to Nine is already covered for Zefnir while he does the Lesser Restoration. ;)

Zefnir will opt for the +2 from his Blessing, as usual.

    HUZZAH!

The combined might of tigers and Pathfinders is enough to destroy the final protean! With that the tower stops shaking, as if the mere presence of the proteans was the cause of the disturbance.

The tower, returning to normal is now safe. You're free to move about Skyreach.

Conratulations Pathfinders! Stay tuned for a word from the overseer!

Now that the tower has ceased to tilt, Zefnir nods to his fellow Pathfinders with a relieved smile. "Indeed, Sir Omrax; hopefully Master Shaine will be arriving soon, the Consortium agents and their Tapestry allies driven away, and that this tower will once again be attached to Skyreach as normal."

Nicely done, everyone! :) Just out of minor curiosity, what did those three Aspis agents have on them? ;)

Hopefully there will be more last minute aid tokens that can be given to the other tables before tomorrow's deadline arrives.
