Dear Baerlie:

I apologize for giving offense.

The PbP Game Day V actually started 12 days ago (11 when I decided to withdraw), but to be completely forthright, the real issue is that I have the chance to play the Peril & Plunder 3 parter, and the only character I have in the appropriate level range is Parryadock. Since this adventure did not seem to be proceeding, I decided to pull out. What I should have done is check with you about changing characters.

Again, my apologies to you, and to the players at this table.

Btw, only because the Game Day started 12 days ago does not mean all sessions have to start at the same date :/

For all the others: I PNed a few players on the waiting list, feel free to RP while we wait for the others to join.

Thank you very much for your patience! Several weeks ago my partner decided to continue his life without me. For me it was a surprise, after 16 years of relationship. While I was busy looking for a new place to live the workload at work got more and more (the bank is changing the treasury apps completely, moving to a new vendor) and my mother opens her own shop on Monday and wanted me to help with ordering stuff, making a website, creating advertising, business cards, preparing the shop etc.

As you can imagin I'm tired, done and completely frustrated. I've not been in the mood to open the Paizo page and reading messages of upset GMs/players "shouting" at me or demanding immediate upates so I did not open this page for a long time now.

I'm really sorry that I put you into this situation, but to make sure: it does not have anything to do with you or your gaming style. It was just that a lot of things hit me at the same time. I'm currently working through the games to update everything.

Everyone else... I don't have the bandwidth currently to take on another game as a GM, but I know several people who said they were looking to GM some PbP, including one of my players in an upcoming game of mine.

Hey Guys,

I'm working off two pieces of information here. One was the detailed, gracious and thankful PM Baerlie sent me when I took over her Consortium Compact game. The other is the snippet above.

I know what it is like to struggle with loss of partner, loss of home and additional work load. It's a lot to process. Processing takes time and mental space. This can suck away all one's bandwidth and energy. I think Baerlie feels a duty to you guys, and wants you to be able to finish, but there's so very much on her plate right now. If a few of her games were to be finished by others, it may give her a chance to come back to the others with renewed vigor.

She's an excellent GM. One of the best. Her games were among the first I studied when I tried to figure out this whole GMing PbP thing out. But real life can hit us all, and at unexpected times.

After hearing from another player in this game, I sent GM Cody here -- not just to help you guys out, but also to help someone I admire so very much get a little stress and duty off an already full agenda.

Don't thank me yet. I see now that I may have been premature in pushing Cody to come in here. If so, please blame me and not Cody. I got contacted by a player, saw that the last GM gameplay post was almost two weeks ago, and started wheels in motion.

However, it sounds like everyone wants to wait for a clear signal from Baerlie about whether this is okay. That sounds quite fair. Cody, let's do that. Baerlie logs on to Paizo every few days. Let's see if she gives this her blessing or wishes to continue.

I think you are probably right Hmm. I'm just conscious of wanting to reduce stress on Baerlie at the moment not increase it. I imagine if Cody steps up it will be fine, and if Baerlie wants to take it back later I'm sure he would be good about that.

Frankly, I think we should go forward with Cody now. We all love Baerlie, but why leave this on her plate? Let's play and she can start other games if and when she's ready. Handling this for her feels more like a kindness than any sort of disrespect or abandonment.

I'd rather wait to see if Baerlie is okay with another GM taking this game.

Lets give Baerlie til after the weekend to make further contact about holding off or continuing. If she doesn't, I think Hmmm likely has the right of it, and someone else taking over will hopefully ease her burdens rather than make them worse.

I just noticed that Fargrims stat line is still at level 2. My mistake for not updating it or noticing it until now but she has been third since back in September.

Would you prefer I kept playing with the 2nd level stat block, or are you okay with me updating it? So long as I get an Out of Tier chronicle, whether I play her 2nd or third makes no real difference to me. She'll be fourth if she survives this.
