I was hoping that I would have enough time to do that. Otherwise, it is one of the spells on my list, so I could just use that slot instead? Alternatively, the GM could not include it if I would not have had the opportunity to cast. Either way works fine for me! This is the first time (Ever, I might add) that I have gotten to play Shyvara as something other than a Selfish Front Liner, so I'm kinda struggling about how to actually contribute!

The Golden Serpent Maps | Actions: ◆ | ◇ | ↺

Hmm the scroll is a good point and would definitely put you in combat before you could use it. Casting a spell would also cause the same problem, but given that it's a somatic only spell, Shyvara could cast it in the bushes and then move out into the open. She will have used a spell slot, though.
However, Turk with the bonuses for succeeding two of the information checks, also got the best result possible.

Shyvara and Turk's words seem to put Vahr at ease a bit. "A curse? That explains so much. You can help us by finding someone who can cast such spells a bring them here. I'll try keeping Pagh as busy as I can until then."

Pagh on the other hand seems to care little for your words. "BAH, CURSES! I NOT CURSED, I JUST WANT TO DIG! AND VAHR HAS NO CONRTROL OF ME!"

As if to proive her point, she takes the longsword in her hand and lashes out at the closest ogre shaving a few hairs off it’s head. ”BREAK OVER, LET”S KILL THESE PUNY PEOPLE!”

The yellow haired one gives and eep and launches to it's feet.

Would have tried dispel magic, but Turk mentioned 'powerful', and that usually means break enchantment.

Was not important as the shift was simply for the +2 bonus to strength, but I think you knew that. Turk is Aasimar so If he must choose he would choose human. My question about the +20 was to choose to assist or to roll diplomacy separately. Since I was not sure about the +20 in combat I chose to hedge our bets and roll diplomacy.

Turk begins a Raging Song, and holding his lucerne hammer advances.

The Golden Serpent Maps | Actions: ◆ | ◇ | ↺

Welp that was a pretty devastating round one, as usual.

Tiki orders Kiti ahead, the rhino, and its extra-long horn, slam into the body of Pahg-Vahr, followed shortly by Tiki’s lance. They leave large gaping holes in the ettin’s body. Both hit

At the same time, Gro-Khal downs his potion and gives coins an order to defend. He then moves closer with Edwin not far behind. Turk also joins the other men, while singing a song that sounds more like angry screaming than actual singing.

Shonne, on the other hand, stays hidden sending a small bead of fire to do her dirty work. The bead settles into a spot behind the ogres and ettin for a second before blossoming into a giant ball of fire with a kaboom.

When the smoke and dust clear, Pahg-Vahr is still just barely on their feet, despite the massive burns all over their body and the giant gaping holes in them. Pahg gives a gurgle before screaming, ”IS THAT ALL YOU’VE GOT? I’VE SEEN BETTER FROM MY MOTHER!” But Vahr nervously stares at the wall behind them and takes control of the body. She stops and focuses for a second, before their breathing speeds up. She then limps away from the wall as fast as their staggering steps can allow them. Kiti and Tiki can take an AoO

The Ogres also take a look of pure terror on their faces, but instead of being directed at the Pathfinders they look behind them at the now blackend and cracked wall. ”Oh, hells, what have they done? Those things might get out!” Yellow hair passes behind where P-V had been standing and runs away from the wall at top speed. Purple-tattoo just starts a series of curses and weaves through the throng of pathfinders, trying to get away as well. Pretty much everyone but Shyvara and Shonne can take and AoO on purple.

On the other side of the wall, you hear the sounds of something lumbering around.

Well, if the Scroll would have provoked Combat, lets call that Spell Slot used. Let's get these 2 actions going!

Action 1!
Beginning her Battle Dance, Shyvara casts Blur on herself, and steps 5 feet forward. Before she even has a chance to continue forward with her Scimitar, the giants flee. "Well, this is certainly a new situation for me! Usually I am first into battle!"

Action 2!
Maintaining her dance, Shyvara waits for an opportunity to see what that 'Lumbering Sound' could be. Reading an Action to cast 'Glitterdust' when whatever it is comes out.

Everyone else focuses their attention on the rumbling behind the walls. They don’t have to wait long as the cracks in the wall start to tremble and expand as something or things start through themselves against the wall. A few seconds later two giant lumbering formst burst through in a shower of rocks and dust. It soon becomes apparent that these things are natural as where their heads should be is instead a giant gaping hole, lined with giant claw-like teeth slowly undulating into and out of the hole.

Blah, I almost forgot they have a fear aura! Everyone but Shonne and Turk needs to roll me a DC 18 will save or be frozen for 1d4 rounds.

Knowledge (Local, for some reason this template did not change their creature type) DC 21

For a second they stop and stand still before training their attention on the nearest living creature, Kiti, seeming to stare right at her despite not having any eyes. Before they can do anything though, Shyvara’s readied spell goes off , creating a glittering cloud of sparkles that slowly settle on the huge creatures. As the sparkles start to touch the runes etched all over their bodies, they start to cause giant flashes of light that prove almost blinding.
Kiti and Tiki needs to make a DC 21 Fort save or risk being blinded for one round, also Shyvara, what’s the DC for your glitterdust?

Tiki and Kiti back away to give time for their eyes to close.

Assuming they have 15 foot reach, if they weren't blinded by the glitterdust they would get AoOs as there is absolutely no way for me to prevent it while blinded.

Roger that. Perhaps our kind GM will allow the crit threat too apply to Coins since it was rolled first.

I asked about saves, but I had forgotten these things have blind sight and therefore don’t care about glitterdust, however, as that would be unfair to Tiki and Kiti, they won’t take an AoO.

Turk decides to Haste the party while still keeping up his heavy tones that somehow remind you of metal blades crashing against rocks. AS he moves closer though he realizes how big the creatures are and just how intimidating they are. And a will save vs. fear for you too! And did you take two rounds of actions? Cause I don’t see how you could haste and then charge. But yellow is getting the hell out of here, so don’t worry.

However, everyone else in the party seems to overcome that sense of primal fear, feeling only a remnant of the fear, but it slowly fades away into the background of adrenaline form the magics quickening their steps. Even on a successful save, everyone (but Edwin cause he’s a paladin) was shaken for one round, but the -2 doesn’t make a difference to any of those rolls.

Edwin, with the courage that is almost synonymous with the term paladin, rushes forward, but attracts the attentions of the giant creature with the blue runes causing it to lean over and try to bite the paladin. It misses and crashes its mouth over a large rock instead.
The spirits of long dead paladins surround the paladin's body and cause small cuts to appear all over the beast.

While the thing tries to eat the intrepid paladin, Gro-khal and Coins both rush up to the creature and try to land hits. Gro-khal succeeds in creating a nasty gash across the shoulders of the beast. The nagaji’s angry ancestors, however, fail to leave a mark on the thing. A hit, but the spirits missed

Coins has a good time of chomping a solid hunk out of the beast legs and the angry crocodile spirits hovering around him also drain the monster of some health. Coin’s regular attack crits, and the spirits hit, using the nat 20 from Turk’s post, though it does not confirm. Also regular damage 1d8 ⇒ 5

Shonne takes this opportunity to fire two rays of fire at the creatures, and both hit but they land and cause massive flashes of light to go off threatening to burn out the retinas of people nearby. She realizes that this will happen every time a spell affects the beasts. The fire leaves a little less scorch marks than would be expected. It has fire resistance

Tiki and Kiti, both blinded by the first flash back away for a moment and wait as their vision starts to clear.

Both Pahg-Vahr and the ogre stop in theer tracks as the fear of the the tings wash over them, freezing them in place.

Shyvara weaves her way into the reaches of the giant beasts but the blue-runed one seems so focused on Edwin it completely ignores her. It only has one AoO

The blue-runed beast, bleeding profusely, but angered by the few broken teeth that the paladin caused it, swings at him with both claws and then tries to catch the man in its mouth again. The first of the swipes clang off the man’s armor, but the second finds a chin and tears a nasty gash in it. The beast is then able to catch the man in his mouth with no difficulty and the teeth dig into Edwin’s clothing, slowly drawing the man in. 2 hits and 30 damage, and grappled

The red one instead looks at the tasty piece of crocodile meat hanging out right in front of it and tries the same tactics on Coins. The crocodile gets surprised by the first claw, but then quickly dodges the second. However he fails to notice the incoming maw in time and gets picked up. 2 hits, 40 damage and grappled
