Duhwoo climbs out of the vehicle, and starts a Hillbilly Bardic Performance to Inspire Courage -- anyone not already getting a Competence bonus to hit and damage (Vuvu's performance overrides this) gains +1 to each now.

"(speaking) Dosey-doe! Nod to'yer left, step to'yer right. (singing) Swing yer blade with style and grace! Smack that thing right in the face!"

No answer comes from the doll, it remains silent for the time being. The maftets escort you to the Golden City's central plaza, where the entire maftet clan gathers round before you are allowed in the Queen's presence. You are asked to leave your weapon there, but sensing that you would be unwilling to do so, tensions once again rise as dozens of armed maftets surround them, preparing for a fight, until a woman’s voice from the palace calls out to stop them. The black-furred, purple-skinned Queen Esmyra stands on the palace veranda wearing a circlet and the heavy gold necklace of her office. She says in Sphinx to her captain, “Rajet, would you have us go to war yet again even in this, our time of desperation?” She then turns to you and says, “Be welcome here. You may keep your weapons if you will agree to hear me out.”

The queen turns and reenters the palace, leaving her guards to escort you to her chambers. Once you reach Queen Esmyra’s chambers, the maftet queen offers you comfortable seating, and maftet servants bring you cups of honeyed nectar. When you are comfortable, Queen Esmyra speaks.

“We have lived in our beautiful Golden City on this island since before the time of our grandsires’ grandsires. Always we have been masters of our realm, living in peace, hunting, and gliding upon the thermals—until two days ago. Then strange creatures from the depths of the sea emerged upon our island’s shores. They demanded that we swear loyalty to their rule. We fought them, but individually they are more powerful than my people, and several of my warriors were killed. These enemies have demanded that I be chained to the old sacrificial rock below the city tomorrow at dawn or they will invade our island and kill all of my people. The creature you fought earlier is merely one of the horrors that our enemies can command. We cannot stand against them, so tomorrow I go to my fate to save my people. But with your arrival, perhaps the tide can be turned, and the fate of myself and my people can be rewritten.”

"As for these creatures, I do not know what they are, but they are skinless monstrosities with the torso of a man or woman atop the body of
a horse, who bring sickness with them."

Knowledge (nature) DC 19:
You identify the creatures as nuckelavees.

"I'll offer you much of my clan’s wealth—10,000 gold pieces' worth of gems, jewelry, and assorted art objects—in exchange for your help. Please, help us!"

While the queen was speaking, Duhwoo cast Mage Hand to hold his cup of nectar, and pulled his keg of beer out of his Haversack. (He thinks of the keg as his holy symbol of Cayden Cailean.) This takes some effort, as the keg doesn't really fit through the Haversack's opening, so Duhwoo has to work it back-and-forth to get it out. Then he pulled a mug, and started mixing beer and nectar to see if he can concoct a new and delicious beverage. In this way, he uses his fidgeting as an act of worship to his god. When Vars mentions his name, he suddenly tunes back into the conversation at hand:

"Huh? Oh, yeah, Ah gots a real cool sword! Ah gits a li'l worked up when they's bad guys 'round -- an' that sword an' me jus' kinda go off when Ah gits ta swingin' it in a fight! The Nuckelavee is surprised by Vars's mighty blow, but remains in complete control of her senses. At the same time, its bones start to shatter from the inside, resulting in an overwhelming exhaustion and a torrent of pain.

The two western nuckelavees in melee reach the party, breathing a torrent of withering foulness that causes painful welts, cramps, and bleeding on them. Everyone except Vars is affected, Ref DC 21 halves. Creatures who fail the Reflex save must attempt a Fortitude save against disease.
10d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 3, 4, 3, 3, 6, 1, 4) = 35
10d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 2, 3, 1, 1, 4, 6, 5) = 31

The northeastern nuckelavee comes out of the water and swims with great ease towards Vars, and both he and his wounded companion breathe on the fighter. Same as above.
10d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 6, 3, 1, 1) = 29
10d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 6, 6, 2, 5, 6, 2, 1) = 37

All nuckelavees appear to bring death and fear in their wake, shattering the will of the Pathfinders.
Frightful presence, Will DC 20 negates. Everyone has to make 3 saves against it. Failure to one or more of them means you're frightened for 5d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 2, 1) = 13 rounds, whereas success means you're only shaken. Don't forget the +4 morale bonus against fear from the heroes' feast.
