Sorry Kuraishimo, didn't see the last two lines. He didn't take any damage from your magic missile since he has a shield spell up. You need to make a stabilization check for round 2 by the way

Titus's first swing dissipates one of the mirror images, whereas the second one hits him fully! The third swing misses completely.

There is still one image up as Bart stabs the warlord. His first attack meets the image and dissipates it, (Bart's first attack misses by less than 5, so it dissipates the last image) but the halfling's second stab misses the warlord.

Filios's efforts are also met with thin air.

Kyra is up!

The Exchange

HP 57/59 | AC19 T11 FF19 | CMD 17 | F +7 R +4 W +10 | Init +0 | Perc +4

Kyra glances worriedly at the fallen form of Kuraishimo, but holds herself just back from healing the fallen man, knowing if he returns to the realm of consciousness, he'd still be gravely wounded and a likely target for knocking over the cliff as long as the demon warlord stands over him.

In her frustration, she shouts out in Kelish.

/Kelish/"I can't heal Kuraishimo while the warlord fights over him! Drive the demon away from him!!"/

Kyra prays to her goddess for additional aid, knowing her blessing should be particularly effective with the hastened attacks of her allies.

Cast bless on the party, granting a +1 on attack rolls.

Kyra then advances along the back wall, drawing her scimitar while she moves to Kuraishimo, planning to drag him away from the demon lord as soon as she can.

This will provoke an AoO. She is moving along the back wall. She is AC21 from BoF.

Grand Lodge

Kyra blesses the party and yells something in Kelish, but sadly no one understands her.

Brae-Hagen stabs the cleric as she walks by!
Flaming shortspear (AoO): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 221d6 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 plus 1d6 ⇒ 2 fire.

The Warlord's voice booms across the cave, then is magically enhanced in the valley below where the armies tirelessly fight. "I shall break you at the gates of Jormurdun."

GM rolls, no peeking:

Then Brae-Hagen disappears from view, though it is hard to determine which spell or ability he used with the deafening din from below.

Kyra catches her breath slightly as the demon commander disappears, giving her a chance to assess the injured about her in the room.

Gripping her holy symbol, she glances at the fallen form of Kuraishimo and she begins to intone her typical request to Sarenrae to heal her entire group...

Then she realizes that Brae-Hagen may still be lurking about, and without the ability to exclude him from her goddess's divinity, that she could in fact do more harm than good.

She then scans her allies, noting her wounds (Kyra down 19hp with the AoO that hit for 17hp; Bart down 15hp) before deciding to tend to her wounds quickly before making her rounds on the others.

Spontaneously losing command for a cure light wounds. As always, Kyra's heals are empowered.

Cure light (on self): 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

With the empower, Kyra heals 18.

Guilt begins to wash over the cleric as she realizes her healing touch could've brought Kuraishimo completely back into the fight with a stronger spell...

@GM Lithrac: Your post indicated that he tells us where the enemy is located...is that not true? I was assuming that I could flank, just with the requisite miss chance. If I am wrong, then so be it, but let's not try to act like this is common knowledge with your normal cavalier attitude, ok? It is beginning to wear thin on me.

Grand Lodge

It appears you're correct, Filios. After some research, the RAW don't say that you can't flank an invisible target. He has total concealment from you, which no AoOs from you when he provokes, but flanking is allowed. That being said, you'll provoke from him if you move into position. Using Acrobatics would work, but moving at half speed will also mean you'll need a double move to get there. Your choice.

Employing some retcon here as the OOC thread discussion has brought light to Kyra's decisions...

Kyra, knowing she has little time before the warlord returns, leans over and presses her hands to Kuraishimo's bloodied chest before reciting the prayers of her goddess.

She'd lose Fire Shield to hopefully heal Kuraishimo as much as she possibly could.

Cure Critical (empowered): 4d8 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 5) + 7 = 22

Kyra heals (actually harms) Kuraishimo for 33 damage.

As the devil melts away beneath her fingers, Kyra's eyes widen in absolute horror.

"Dawnfl... wha--- SOMETHING IS WRONG?!"

She looks up and meeting the eyes of her fellow Pathfinders, she looks back down at the smoldering remains of her ally.

"I... I... he's dead? He didn't heal?!"

Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

That check feels good enough to put 2 and 2 together...

"My healing... it... hurt Kuraishimo."

Kyra looks up, her face flush.

"No, it KILLED HIM."

The following round...

Kyra, with little to offer and wary of her own magic, takes a few steps towards Bart, but then a few steps back.

"I... have I been cursed?"

She considers applying her other spells to her allies, but isn't sure if they would have their intended result, or the complete opposite. Hadn't her blessings hastened her allies? Hadn't her blessing made their aim true? Perhaps, it was only her healing.

Swallowing hard, she stepped up to Filios and spoke in a whisper.

"Blessed Sarenrae, I hope this makes you stronger, not weaker..."

Cast Bull's Strength on Filios, for +4 Strength.

A veil of sadness obscures the Pathfinders' heart as one of their own falls to a dramatic curse. Has Sarenrae abandoned her zealous servant? It can't be, for in this hour of grief, Kyra can feel the goddess soothing presence touching her very soul.

Doubt not, for I am with you always.

Her mind regaining some measure of clarity, the priestess is able to deduce that only her healing is cursed, and that her other spells work perfectly. Filios's muscles bulge with raw strength, reassuring Kyra.

Yet evil lurks close, and the half-fiend Warlord Brae-Hagen torments the Pathfinders with a hysterical laughter. "Feel the Memory of Teremthal, my late demonic father. May his death on the walls of Nerosyan at the Society's hands be not in vain, and cast your souls into oblivion..."

Kyra:
Acting upon your Knowledge (religion) roll.
Hearing those words, the torn cleric is able to connect the dots.

Of course, a reversal of healing, so typical of that fiend. But if I'm not mistaken... that should only work once, then the curse would fade!
You have the chance to tell that to your companions before whatever is coming your way.

Concentration DC 17: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
As these words echo in the stone bunker, Brae-Hagen reappears, a quick blast of water that surges and attempts to knock over Kyra. "... I lied! My magic is much more pragmatic. Being cast into this canyon will do. Say hello to your pathetic troops!" cackles madly the Warlord.
Brae-Hagen successfully casts hydraulic push on the defensive.
CMB: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Yet for all his mockery, the half-fiend's magic proves weak and the surge of water fails to send Kyra down below, simply washing over her, the cleric's undomitable faith keeping her strong.

Grand Lodge

Yes, as Titus said. He never hit Titus, so the spell remained in his blade.

Titus almost cuts the Warlord in half, killing him outright. However, Brae-Hagen remains standing, his horrendous fiendish eyes piercing Titus with all their hatred and scorn. Suddenly, the warlord's body bursts into flames, consuming himself slowly. You then remember Ollysta Zadrian's words and counsel, her imperious voice echoing through your ears.

If you should kill him in particularly spectacular manner, this might shift the balance of battle and allow us to scatter the remaining forces. Those demons will run like headless chicken if you break their morale.

End combat - we're out of initiative, but I'm still counting the number and order of actions you take for two reasons (Filios being unconscious and bleeding, Brae-Hagen's body slowly burning to ashes).

Titus stows his blade and picks up the fallen warlord. He raises the body high in the air for all his troops to see before tossing him down the canyon hundreds of feet below. After stripping him of weapons and loot of course. :)

His body is still burning, do you wish to proceed?

Um, do we know what's causing it? I'm still going to do it unless someone gives me a really good reason not to.

Tiny Bart ignores the burning warlord and rushes over to Filios, trying to stop his wounds.

"Can someone help me over here?!"

Bart stabilizes Filios!

Knowledge (planes) DC 19:
You recognize a quality not unlike a balor's death throes. Knowing that Brae-Hagen was a balor, you are able to estimate that his body will slowly consume itself and burn to ashes under a minute.

As the warlord collapses, Kyra struggles to steel herself against her darker desires to step up and slash her scimitar across the demon's neck.

Instead, she rushes to Filios and does what she can to work with Bart to naturally stop the bleeding of his wounds.

She watches from the corner of her eye as Titus advances to the burning body of their fallen enemy.

Yes, burn with the cleansing fires of the day... and burn in your after-hell, you...

Her attention is brought back to focus as she holds pressure against Filios's body, but she manages to convey her desires to Titus.

"Do it."

Titus will do s the lady asks and will throw the body into the canyon with a loud roar!

Grand Lodge

With a loud roar (you can attempt an intimidate check there, since the acoustics in this room make the sound echo a hundredfold in the canyon below), Titus casts the smoldering warlord into the chasm where both armies are still deadlocked in a hopeless battle. Grasping Brae-Hagen's burning body proves an exceedingly painful experience, however.
