Between the PFS season 5 guide and the forums here, I think I have all the questions I know about answered regarding my character. I'm still a little fuzzy on how the credit and chronicle sheets work, but I think that is just because I need to see it happen.
I am really looking forward to running this module with all of you. I am new to PbP and PFS, but I have been table top gaming for over 20 years. Can't wait to get started!

I feel pretty much the same way! Mostly clear on the rules as far as characters go, but still not 100% sure how the credit and chronicle sheets are done.
I can't wait to run the module either! I'm also new to PFS, but the idea is extremely cool and I'm looking forward to seeing it in action. :)

Just FYI - the two links you supplied don't point to what they are supposed to...
And I am pumped to get started!

When it comes times for battle maps, please be aware I am new to Paizo's systems. I don't know how to get the icons everyone else uses, so I'll just be using some tokens, a legend, and google docs.
I assume people just post a link to said maps in their profile line where it's easily accessible.

This is the first time actually playing a PbP, but I have read through threads and seen it done a couple of ways. I am joining another (non PFS) PbP campaign and the GM has found a way to link the dungeon map with tiles that the players can move themselves. They typically move their character on their initiative round and then post what coordinate they are at. (Link here ---> The Sunless Citadel) Don't ask me how he does it, but it is through Google Drive/docs... whatever its called :)

Me too, was watching the recruitment thread for a 'we're live' post instead of checking gameplay sorry! Will go post now :)

Hey Krumthi - Just wanted to mention something about your out of character post - I know i'm not personally worried if you don't post as often. My post earlier was kind of aimed at you, as far as trying to aid another.
This is my first Play by Post experience, but I want to try to do as much as I can to involve the whole party in my posts, knowing that not everyone is able to post that frequently. Based on other games I have read, even if you miss something, no one is going to bat an eye if you make the first part of your post what you might have done had you been around to do something 4 posts earlier, and then finish up by reacting to something that just happened recently.
If anything, I could probably be accused of posting too often. The work I do allows me to be able to check the message boards frequently and I am...eager. If anyone feels I am pushing the story to quickly and not letting everyone have a chance to be involved, please let me know! I can take it. This is really fun, and all of gaming is supposed to be fun for the whole group... if I am stealing the fun and the spotlight for the other players I want to know so I can stop doing that...

Papa,
To be honest, your pacing and mine fall in line with similar expectations. I try to wait for everyone to have a chance to attempt to solve a problem, but if its a simple as responding to a spell or specific character action, I'll reply as soon as I see the post unless I am busy.
We are already nearly a 1/4 way through the scenario, which is fine by me. I prefer to turn and burn and get people some games in. If you guys like me, my maps, and DM style, I will continue to give you first swing at any modules I run.
After these three I think I am going to run some of the free PFS gamesday scenarios. I'd like you to be able to get a character to at least 3rd level before I duck out for awhile.

Getting a character to 3rd level sounds awesome, and so far I have to say I enjoy everything you are doing. It might be my first time, but the maps and links are great.

Thunderfrog, I echo the others above, very happy with pacing, and moving things along when the players are dithering is the mark of a good GM in my humble opinion ;)

Krumthi, just about your posting schedule...don't worry!!!
I'm posting from New Zealand, and it's GMT +12 (so when those in America are just going to bed, I've already finished work the next day and am heading home!). Anyway, I figure just post when you can, and as ever just write around what has gone before. I've yet to find anyone who objects to artistic license being used to integrate a character's actions in a flashback sort of way!
Anyway, I'm having fun here, hope you (and everyone else!) are too :)
Right, speaking of bed!....

There is a link in the GM's info line, right above the frog picture

I just wanted to let everyone know I will be on a business trip next week, leaving around noon-ish on Monday (EST). I won't return until the next Sunday late in the evening. I may or may not have internet access through my phone, and if I do my posting won't slow down. If I don't, and you don't see me post, please don't let my absence slow down the story!

I am flying back from Korea today, sorry I haven't been able to post very much! I will be back into the swing of things from now on.
Side note: I can't seem to get the new map to work... anyone else having the same issue?

![]() |

The way I have seen other threads do combat, everyone posts their action, and the dm resolves it in order. That might be more difficult with our barbarians ability to one shot enemies... (which is awesome). I think we are waiting for thunderfrog to post...
And yes, I don't know what happened to Chiba, I pm'd him a while back to make sure everything was ok, no response. We lost our rogue way back in the first encounter...
Twitnit, I believe a typical climb dc to go about 10 feet to the roof is either 10 or 15, depending on what the wall looks like. You could probably at least get an aid another from Hans or valya. I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult for one of them to toss you up onto the roof either...
Either way, eliminating that caster would probably make this fight go a lot easier...

![]() |

Gah where are my manners!?
I am shamed by our barbarian offering better etiquette than I!
Indeed many thanks for running this, it's been good fun :)

PFS# 133958-1
I believe I can use Handle Animal as my day job - If that is incorrect then just use my straight d20 roll.
Day Job (Handle Animal): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Thanks for running the game, I enjoyed it! Are you still planning on running the next in the series? I like this group also...

![]() |

Yes the group was very fun, I enjoyed playing with all of you and would happily continue :)
I thought that First Steps 2 and 3 had been removed from the valid scenario list, is my memory telling me lies!?

![]() |

Is there something else that we could just jump into? Thunderfrog - I PM'd you a while back with my buddies info who would like to join us if we do start another one... If we have a good thing going, why stop right?

![]() |

So just for my own sake, and because I have a tendancy to not get things occasionally if they aren't spelled out...
How do I acquire the chronicle sheet? (or have I already and don't know it?)
Will we be doing another adventure or should I look for another one somewhere else?

![]() |

Woohoo! Thanks again! I am looking forward to the next one!

Papasteve08 |

Thanks! I have that actually, I just didn't know if it ever gets checked off of the list in the campaigns tab under my profile. this was my first one, so I don't know if it was supposed to or not. I was just curious because I am in a few more campaigns now with other aliases and it is nice to review the list to see what is updated, all in one page.
Unless we are going to continue this one.... :)
