"I would appreciate that, friend. I'm one of the few carefree souls thinking that a spell can't really alter who we truly are, so I have no morality problem with it. "

"I sent Dancing Lights into the room where the monster was lurking. Let's go search it out."
Krux moves toward the unexplored room.

Krux moves into the darkened room to inspect it.
In the corner of the room, there's a small cubbyhole near the ceiling, with a bronze object peeking out of it.

I'll need a climb check or something else to reach the cubbyhole

Rhanloi

DC20 Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
DC25 Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Rhanloi casts detect magic and concentrates on the bronze object in the cubbyhole, and then gazes about the room searching for any magical auras.
| DM Kludde |
Jhalan climbs up to retrieve the bronze statue, and Rhanloi identifies it as an embossed prayer to Shizuru. The prayer is a warrior’s plea, asking for strength and courage when facing the final moments of life.
Putting together the pieces found here, the adventurers conclude that in some age past, a powerful ritual ws performed here to seal away some pocket of necromantic magic. It turns out the magic has deteriorated over time, and needs renewal.

"That's a pretty trinket. Let's move on to another room after it's catalogued. My Mirror Images won't last long."
Krux moves to the nearest unexplored area.

Scarlet follows on, but Poppy rests at the back, not keen to be drained any further...
Rhanloi
|
"Poppy, do you need some help? Does anyone else require healing? I have a scroll and a couple of potions that will help..." he says, even though the elf is looking a bit more pale than usual.
| DM Kludde |
The next room is a rectangular hall. Coiled in the eastern alcove is the statue of a cobra-like snake with a contemplative humanoid face. Parts of the statue have crumbled and fallen to the ground, though enough detail remains to see sadness in the creature’s stony eyes.
The statue is a depiction of Slassalla, a guardian naga who acted as magical council to the Knights of Ozem during the Shining Crusade. Historians debate just how influential she was in persuading them to turn the Whispering Tyrant’s fortress into his prison.

Kn(Hist): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Rhanloi examines the statue also, wondering if it was created or perhaps an unfortunate soul turned to stone...but the damage is to extensive for him to make any determinations and he just continues his search.

"Beyond my knowledge" The Rogue comments as she shrugs her shoulders...
Krux Crushtooth

"What a pitiful creature. Anyone know about it's significance? I feel asleep all too often in my studies."
Krux will examine the room for traps.

Further down the hall, a number of shrines to the same goddess dot the alcove. It seems this was once a place of worship, though. The small figurines in the alcoves show some signs of erosion.

Scarlet joins him, not being scholarly enough to divine any knowledge from the shrine...

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 (+2 determine magic item properties)
Kn(arcana): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
The wizard checks the statuettes and shrines closely, recording the details in his journal for later review.

It seems the statues have been eroded by a burst of energy. Rhanloi now has a good idea on how to perform the ritual to renew the seal of the necromantic pocket. With some help from the party, he should be able to perform it.
Jhalan stands guard, expecting something from the darkness... nothing arrives, however.

"Rhanloi, can I help you in any way? My knowledge of the arcane is limited to my own experiences unfortunately."

Scarlet Scoundrel

"Let's conduct the ritual then, and see the back of this place"
| DM Kludde |
Rhanloi coordinates the ritual, with Krux adding a pinch of sorcery, and Mogall some dark arcana. With the aid of the rest of the team, they manage to seal away the necromantic darkness that was leaking out of the tomb, shutting it inside for centuries to come.
Returning to Uscalin Lodge, VC Shevar Besnik greets the group, and inquires about their endeavour. When the group tells of their success, he says: "I knew you would triumph! Just goes to show I picked the right Pathfinders to seek out adventure while unknown dangers lurked. There could have been almost anything there! Go and rest while I put our report together for the Ten. Surely, this addition to the Chronicles will put Uscalin Lodge on the map.”
That's the end of this story. Please roll your days jobs if you haven't done so already, and I'l prepare chronicles.

"Well done, what a vexing place that was - nasty creatures, don't fancy going back dow there again!"

Sorry about the delay in chronicles. i tried to finish them béfore going on holiday, but events got in the way. I will have them ready early next week.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone's bold characters. My group just had a teleport mishap trying to get to the Magnimar Lodge in an AP, and ended up in Vellumis Lodge instead. So I had your group there and defending against the teleport assault!.. ended peacefully though, but the group was made quite nervous by your 'Arcane Heroes'.
