I rolled a 26 on knowledge check. I'd like to know vulnerabilities, if possible. However, after seeing my first arrow bounce, I think I can assume adamantine would help.
Seeing how tough the exterior of this creature is, Caranthir reaches into his efficient quiver and wills arrows specially prepared for this purpose to reach his hand. He begins to draw missiles with arrowheads dipped in adamantine weapon blanch, which he fires at the statue in quick succession.

Caranthir gives another display of his marksmanship, and as one arrow after the other cleaves through the stone like through butter, Jelani pounds down on the statue in pure rage.

As a non-native speaker: the word 'folk' bothers me. When I have a creature that is called 'serpentfolk', how do I call a single one of them? Is 'a serpentfolk' correct?
Caranthir Silverhand
|
since that is the name of the race, it would be proper for singular or plural. I should say that after playing in a dozen or so of your games, I never would have guessed you are not a native speaker!
Fellgrim Cogmaester
|
Yeah ... English can be pretty weird sometimes. I have always referred folk to be singular and folks as plural. It is a term for a group ... like German. When using the term as a descriptor or adjective, it would be German or folk. When using it as an object or a noun it would be German/Germans and folk/folks ... at least that is how I grew up using it.
Jelani
|
Folks is colloquial in some parts of America, but it's not proper English per say. I agree with Caranthir on this one. It should be, "There is a serpentfolk in the room," and "Hey, look at those serpentfolk."
Or, if you want to throw in folks..."Them folks are serpentfolk, best be careful ya hear!"

While he is near the dead, he takes a moment to quickly look down the corridor to the west, careful not to be seen. After returning, he says "Let us search the door to the east, first," he suggests.
I'm just wanting to see what's down the passage to the west, but think we should search east first.

Of course, in the UK that would be 'aull y'aull'
The door on the east leads to the lower end of a large room. The large chamber has a viewing gallery on the west end and a dirt-floored pit on the east end, with manacles attached to the wall. Both ends have doors leading south, but the door in the pit has no handle or keyhole.
There's a dark-haired human woman dressed in filthy, torn robes chained to the pit’s east wall. She appears to be wounded, but none of the injuries look recent. Dire rats scurry about the floor of the pit, staying well away from the prisoner. She looks up and calls, “Help me, please! The serpentfolk are going to kill me!”
The rats, meanwhile, squeak as the adventurers enter...
