Fellstone quickly adjusts to the new threat and launches a combo of punches. The first one is dodged but his left hand chop nearly takes the rat's head off. The rat hisses in pain and bites at the dwarven monk but misses.
Theoduin squints as he retreats away from the rat in front of him and fire and arrow at it. Not being able to see it to well Theoduin hears a thud and a squeal of pain.
Kagar swings his mighty axe at the large rat near him but it dodges and bites at his ankle tearing off a piece of flesh. Kagar takes 2 points of damage!! Need a Fort Save!
The last rat lunges at Hugo again but the barbarians thick armor prevents the rat's teeth from causing any damage.

The cat closes the short distance (5-ft step) and tears into a rat with teeth and claws.

Then suddenly four small blue creatures appear next to the crate teetering in the middle of the hole and begin dancing.

Hugo stares at the bright blue creatures but just shakes his head. Hugo has never seen anything like this before.
The very small creatures begin to sing in high-pitched, earworm voices.
The group can now see Faeria below the warehouse in a boat looking up thru the large hole.

Little blue dancing lights. I guess I either get 4 glow bugs or one (3-apple tall) humanoid shape. It's backed up by indistinct ghostsound vocals.

"They don't appear to be hurting us. Let's ignore them and work on getting this crate," Roshan says.
She goes with her original plan-- taking off her hide armor and pack, so that she is in just her simple clothes, and then testing if the plank will bear her own weight as she crosses to the crate with a rope in hand. Sans gear, Roshan weighs somewhere between 30 and 40 lbs

The planks and floor around the crate are very rotten. It looks as if the floor will give way at any moment sending the crate into the water below. Lucky for the group the crazy wizard has a boat under the crate.
Roshan I need a few Acrobatics Checks to see if you are able to negotiate the difficult terrain of the wobbly rotten planks.

Roshan knots the rope onto her belt to better leave her hands free as she tries to cross. "One of you please hold the other end!" she chirps.

Roshan you make it to the middle of the plank and small piece breaks off landing on Faeria head. The plank is visibly bending and you can hear it creak and moan under the added weight. You stop for a few seconds then continue to move across toward the crate in the center when the entire floor, crate and all, crash thru the floor. Roshan leaps for the ledge and is able to grab Fellstone's hand.
The crate falls down into the boat nearly crushing Faeria but luckly she was looking up because of the earlier small piece of wood hitting her and she was able to just dive out of the way into the water. Faeria you are back in the water.

Theoduin dives into the water to save Faeria and is able to drag the woman back up onto the boat. The rest of the group looks thru the hole and sees the boat swaying back and forth with the crate in the middle. It looks like the boat will hold the weight of the crate Theoduin and Faeria easily.
Theoduin is able to row the boat back to the dock.
The rescued crate holds a smaller mahogany box inside, which contains five books and a few loose sheets of paper in a leather folder. The titles and subjects seem completely unrelated to each other: Practical Thaumaturgy In Accordance with Creation, Geographic Anomalies of the Inner Sea, Under Kaer Maga: A Trial and Travel, Physiology of Dragons: An Illustrated Reference, Lost Sarusan. The leather folder contains cargo manifestos, warehouse inventories, and other financial logs from a dozen different merchant houses and trade guilds.
The crate also contains 10 sets of masterwork thieves’ tools, three flasks of alchemist’s fire, a flask of acid, a dozen jars of various inks, a footprint book, adamantine weapon blanch, three bags of powder, a deck of marked cards, and two sets of average loaded dice.
The group returns to the Pickled Imp and gives Guaril Karela the contents of the crate.
Nice work!!! The last task is complete. Now Back to the Lodge.

A throng of people blocks the street ahead. A performance art group commandeers the street, drawing graffiti to create a jolly hellscape complete with illusory devils comically dancing around in circles. A few citizens avoiding the crowd slip off-street through a nearby alley, the only egress past the gathering.
Other people take this shortcut as well, and as the group moves a short distance down the alley a hazy fog begins to fills the alley.
You see a familiar face in the crowd before the fog gets too thick. It was one of the people that you caught watching the group earlier in the day.
The common people begin to scream and run out of the alley just as four humanoids emerge from the fog. A dark haired woman with a mask of steps forward and shouts. ”Give us everything you have and you might live to see another day.” She points her shortsword at the group.

Faeria sends her illusion toward the enemy to distract them.
Hugo quickly charges the muggers slamming the club into the face of the dark haired woman shattering the mask. The woman slumps against the wall not moving.
Theoduin steps forward firing a shot into the woman in the back which knocks her off her feet.
Roshan drinks a potion as she send her pet into the fray. The large cat pounces into attack but fails to pierce the halfling's thick armor.
