Looking over at Orion, she raises an eyebrow. "I just bet you'd like to see what I can do with some rope." With a grin, she turns to gathering in her things in preparation to moving out again.

Shilyn, need your action for the surprise round! Varian so far has tried to scare off, or at least distract the bears with a ghost sound.

Oops, sorry.. knew I was forgetting something.

Seeing the bears, Shilyn reaches for her bow and sets an arrow to the string. Keeping one eye on the threat, and the other on Kalk, she softly mutters, "Wonder if we can just feed him to the bears and call it a day.."

@Varian: While the ghost sound does get the bear's attention, but unfortunately is not enough to distract it from the sound of multiple footsteps approaching from the south. Rearing up on its legs, the bear howls out, getting everyone's attention this time!

Varian readies to create a weapon and attack, but only if the bear attacks... otherwise he stands quite still, but doing his best to look as large and intimidating as he can to the bear, hoping that faced with numerous foes, including some large ones, the bear might take her young and leave. (not using intimidate skill or anything, just trying to look large and in charge, lol)

I shake my head, "Her name is Shilyn and she is my friend. What name should I call you? I am Mylvwara Elberion.

Mahasi gives Mylvwara a quizzical look at the oddly timed comment.

"Gamin.", everyone hears from Mylvwara's direction... but not from Mylvwara.

Waiting until noon my time for Mylv and Amnur to post actions.

"So, Gamin, perhaps you can help Kalkamedes: do you know anything about his goal? Or his madness?"

"Woman... bears!" the Vudrani stammers, gesturing.

Sparing a look over at Mylv, Shilyn raises an eyebrow. "Um.. yo.. angry furry things..remember?"

Alright, finally botting now :P

Amnur follows Varian's lead, withdrawing his axe, but he focuses mostly on keeping Kalkamedes at bay, who's still trying to push forward... right onto the path of the bears!

Shilyn's bow is still at the ready... now forming a Varisian standoff... with no Varisians!

The first baby bear cowers on the spot, looking towards its mother for for guidance and protection.

Mahasi, please post your action.

Mahasi returns his focus to the bears. He makes a series of unnecessarily exaggerated movements, pulling a rod and pointing it at the bears... and spidery strands erupt everywhere around the bears!

DC 20 for Mama bear (using the rod of focused spell)
DC 18 for baby bears

Mama Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Baby 1 Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Baby 2 Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Only one of the baby bears are free from the entanglement as the webbing showers over the ursine family!

The other baby bear tries to get out of the webbing... and manages to break free!

Baby 2 CMB: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Mama growls out angry and tries to break free from the sticky confinement!

Mama CMB: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Mama bear is barely still stuck in the webbing, although it looks like next round it will be far more victorious!

Both baby bears are not stuck!, Mama bear is grappled!

Kalkamedes, as always, tries to push forward...

Even with one arm occupied, Amnur's grip is enough to hold the sleepwalker back!

Orion readies an arrow just in case Mama gets loose!

Varian sighs, shaking his head... and grabs Kalk's harness from the front, trying to lead him around the webbed mama bear and the babies rather than through them, giving them a wide berth if possible.

@Varian: Give me a (drag) CMB roll with a +2 bonus since you're pulling him a direction he mostly wants to go.

cmb: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 19

@Varian: Good enough! You go up to 20' in any direction you feel like :). Do note that Amnur will more than likely have to follow your initiative and follow you Easy enough to bot with him being busy with his newborn :P.

Shilyn follows behind Varian, keeping her bow at the ready. One eye on the bears and the other on him so that she doesn't wander off track.

Mahasi moves through the brush, ready to hit the bears with a focused glitterdust if the babies attack or mama breaks free. DC 18 or 20

Is the brush difficult but passable? On such a tiny map it's hard to maneuver...

@Mahasi: Correct; the brush is considered difficult terrain. And as far as the map goes... yeah, that's what's provided :/ Action noted otherwise, just waiting for Mylvwara!

Realising that we're trying to dodge this time, I cast grease around the bears and move after my friends.

"See, Gamin, we're keeping Kalkamedes from harm. Why is he sleepwalking this way?"

leading Kalk to the 'east' around the webs and bears.

@Mylvwara: "I do not know; I was with him when he mapping beyond this area of the woods a few weeks ago. But since then, he's been afflicted. I did not notice anything strange, nor was I familiar with the path he took."

As you cast your grease to keep Mama slowed down...
Mama reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
the webbing provides enough support to keep her upright, although her growls increase in volume from doing so.

The baby bears continue to cower in their corner.

Mahasi moves to the side, spell readied just in case...

Mama Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

The angry bear finally moves up and takes a swipe at Amnur when the area is covered with a blast of glittery sparkles!
Mama Will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

The bear, however, ignores it as she moves towards the dwarf!

Shilyn and Orion fire reactionary shots at her.

Both archers fail to get their arrows to pierce deep enough to wound the bear as she strikes at Amnur

Damage on hit: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
However, the continued assault is enough to cause her swipe to fall short of the paladin.

With all of the distractions, though Kalkamedes feels a gumption to step forward towards the webbing.

And he presses forward into the webbing...

in which he gets stuck in!

Orion fires one last arrow as he moves up to follow the party.

The bear roars with more fury as the archer's arrow pierces its shoulder, nearly nicking it in the neck!

Shilyn, Mylvwara, and Amnur follow; Mylv greases the area but an angry bear cannot be stopped. Mahasi moves and prepares a glitterdust... but again, angry bear cannot be stopped.

Kalkamedes somehow breaks ahead... and gets stuck in the web.

Did Kalkamedes have to cross my grease?

@Mylvwara: No, he didn't; I took a guess at where the grease would be to try and slow down Mama bear optimally. Kalkamedes is heading diagonal and was already past the grease.

Waiting for Mylv, Shilyn, Amnur, and Mahasi actions.

Mahasi waves his hands and the web collapses into sparkles.

I step back and fire off an arrow.

Quickly grabbing another arrow and setting it to her bow, Shilyn lets loose at the mother bear.

@Mylvwara: Your arrow lands with a well-placed thunk, causing the bear to flinch and roar out with fury.

@Shilyn: Your arrow falls short, missing the bear outright.

@Varian: No luck trying to get Kalkamedes free.

Amnur tries to pull Kalkamedes back and hopefully out of the web.

Amnur CMB: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
However, Mahasi's web is too strong and the dwarf cannot reel the sleepwalker in.

The baby bears, seeing their mama get injured, finally get into the fight!

Baby 1 bite @ Mahasi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage on hit: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The "little" (only 200 lbs.) bear manages to quickly bite Mahasi's leg, the sorcerer grateful that at least he wasn't full grown yet.

Mahasi then disperses the web, causing Kalkamedes to be free!
4 damage to you Mahasi' you still have a move action left! Despite me going to the next round, you can still move yourself before taking that round's set of actions.

The other bearling charges straight towards Kalkamedes!
Baby 2 bite @ Kalkamedes: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
Damage on hit: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
However, shaken from the violence, the young animal swipes harmless at the air.

Mama will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
With bear fury, she ignores the sparkling glitter around her and aims to maul Mylvwara!
Mama claw @ Mylvwara: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage on hit: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Mama grab @ Mylvwara: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

The wizard is slammed painfully, but is then brought closer to the ursine matriarch's growling face!

@Mylv: 11 damage to you and you and the bear are grappled!

No longer webbed, Kalkamedes trudges forward.
Kalkamedes CMB: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
He yanks Amnur with a tug, but the dwarf's sure footing stops the Pathfinder cold.

@Orion: [While your first arrow goes wild, trying not to hit Mylvwara, the second shot succeeds, wounding the bear further!

The baby bears get into the fight, charging at Mahasi and Kalkamedes, the former dismissing his web.

Next round, wherein the party does not ask how these bears seem to be magic resistant...

At the end of the previous round, Varian tosses off a 'LIberating command' at Mylv (immediate action) giving her +6 on an immediate action to make an escape artist check)

Varian then, seeing Amnur has Kalk firmly in hand, turns his attention to the mama bear, hoping if she falls, the babes will stand down. As a swift action, he creates a lucerne hammer and charges the mama bear.

to hit: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 = 17

dmg if hits: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

If that liberating command doesn't do the trick Mahasi will follow up with one at +10

@Varian: With a mighty wallop, Mama takes a hit that would crack the ribs of many lesser men. Alas, she is a bear, but now much more wounded. Liberating Commands noted!

Mahasi steps back from the bear and summons a mighty ball of ice, hurling it at the Mother!

Quickly grabbing another arrow, Shilyn sets it to her bow and sends it flying toward the mother bear. "I really wish you hadn't chosen to attack us, oh wise one, but you are leaving us no choice," she mutters as her arrow speeds on its way.

attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

I scream out in pain and fear, then Varian's gift shakes me back to some kind of control and I try to wriggle free.

escape artist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

@Mylv: You struggle to break free; you almost make it until the voice of Gamin calls out. "You can do it Mylvwara!". With that, you narrowly get the edge over the bear and are able to escape its grasp.

@Shilyn: Good hit, but it only grazes the mother's arm.

Skipping others actions since... well, Mahasi just got a bearsicle.

Mahasi throws a white ball that explodes with a blast of chill that even sends shivers down Mylvwara's spine. The large bear tries to stand up, but then falls to the ground. It is not hibernating.

The baby bears immediately huddle over to the mother, pawing and licking her trying to wake her up. Combat is over unless you wish to still engage the cubs.

Seeing the baby bears distracted with their mother's condition, Varian leaves Kalk's care to Amnur for the moment and slips over to cast a quick stabilize on the mother so she will hopefully come conscious soon and be able to care for her cubs again.

"Shall we move on, following Kalk again?"

"Yes, but let us return here to heal this beast after, or give it a proper burial if needed; who knows who it was in its last life, or who it will be in the next." Mahasi rather glumly comments.
