Man, I'm going to have to change my lifestyle if I earn 6 gp but have to shell out 10 gp for living expenses. Can't be living above my means! Then again, I always felt like the downtime rules tend to cost players more than it makes them. Gaining assets (goods/influence/etc) is uber expensive. I'm excited to try it out, though.
EDIT: Looking at it again, that's only 6gp in 3 days so I guess I could see that my lifestyle is doable. I'll keep it :) I think I'll be working to build some network and influence in the streets also.
Just checking in. Away from home and the internet is not as reliable as I expected. I'll be back Sunday but there's been an unexpected death in the family while we were away so it'll probably be a couple more days before I resume a regular posting schedule.

I personally like downtime like that. Gives you a reason to go back out and save the world. "Aw, nuts, looks like the rent is due... where's my goblin hunting sword?"

Sorry I have not posted in a long time. To be completely honest I'm finding it hard to muster enthusiasm for this campaign. We've nearly wiped in the two fights we've been in, and lack any reliable measure of healing to counter the punishing effects of the wound threshold mechanics. If we just keep pushing forward every time we lose a party member a TPK is inevitable.
Fair enough. This was kind of a test run for those rules and honestly, if you guys aren't enjoying them, they are easily removed. I'm finding them very one sided, as in if one side gets the better of the other, that other team is pretty much done for. It makes for a more gritty game, but uses up resources fast and almost forces more retreats. On the other hand it does make victories that much sweeter, but I get it. We can nix them if that's the party's consensus.
I agree that the wounding threshold mechanics have really sapped away my zeal for fighting in this game - and I built a fighter.
I'm reposting this in all my games, just so it gets noticed. I am leaving for Europe on the 18th of this month and will return the 17th of the next month. During that time, I will do my best to keep up, but I know a few times I will be at sea, so it will be difficult to check the boards. Rest assured I will do my best though!
