Talia staggers to her feet as Triblin's healing light washes over her. She sheathes her sword and looks back toward the docks. "Triblin, we should go wake up the halfling I knocked out, maybe see if any of his comrades are alright. He did seem a bit confused by all this, maybe he'll think twice about working with those who would enslave him."

![]() |

Drusillia snorts. "He knew what he was doing. Let's go rescue Lady Anilah. If he's still here when we leave the ship we can have a chat with him then. But I'm guessing some other slaver will come snatch him up before he comes to."
She peers down the stairs. "You think anyone else is onboard?"

![]() |

Talia shakes her head. "He did tell us what we asked for, and I said I'd get him once the deck was cleared. His choices were poor, but can a former slave working for a slave trader to stay free even count as freed? One word from Pildapush and they'd have been back in the pits." She looks at the currently-giant Quinn and the little cleric. "We should at least give him the chance to help any of his allies who haven't bled out yet."

![]() |

GM, is the gnoll or any of the sailors still alive? So that we can question for the location of Lady Anilah, and any potential traps below deck?
Quinn gradually returns to his normal size, and he shakes his head briefly as if to clear off any lingering effects of the transmution. He glances briefly at the unconscious halfing, and adds on, "The law is just but must also be tempered with mercy. I trust our actions today would strike a blow to the workings of the slavers, and my hope is that he would sieze this opportunity to seek true freedom, beholden to himself. So, yes, I say we give him a chance to redeem himself."
Turning to Dru, he continues, "I believe there would be. Our tasks here is not yet done. Slavers do not release their quarry that easily."
If there are no one around / alive to question about what's below deck, then let's head down?

![]() |

The gnoll and one of the sailors are alive, but deeply unconscious. It will take a bit of magical healing to get them up. Not that anyone has tried to stabilize them yet...

![]() |

"Very well. It's worth it for the information at least. Someone patch him up enough to ask some questions, then send him on his way."

"One chance, and maybe they'll change their ways. If not, the boneyard will be their new home."

![]() |

Well, they are not well, but they won't die today. Unless someone rolls them overboard.

Talia holds out a hand to help the halfling to his feet and waves towards the fallen ambushers. "You should check on your friends, and consider who it is you work for. You are quite skilled in stealth tactics, why not join the Bellflowers and help free others rather than imprison them?" She then returns to the ship and prepares to head below decks.

Preparations complete, the team heads down into the No Return, hoping the boat is not aptly named..
Chained the length of the ship, two to a bench, are 50 filth encrusted oar slaves bleeding from lacerations and open sores and slumped in sleep or exhaustion. The benches form a five-foot-wide aisle down the center of the galley, constricting movement in all but three areas: a 10-foot diameter around the main mast, slightly fore of midship, and the extreme ends of the galley which hold rooms.
At the far end stands a large gnoll, and beside him... Pildapush, the slaver.

Pointing his wand at the two, the short gnome shakes his head before speaking, "Normally I try to stay out of certain disputes, but considering my contract, I will say this once. Stand down, let the authorities handle the ship, and surrender. The both of you can be forgiven and lesser charges will occur."

The gnoll just flicks a nasty looking whisp at his side and steps forward. He doesn't seem the talkative type.
