"Aah, by reinacting these carvings, you gain their favor. What blessing does the Thief grant?" Volyana heads to the walls and studies the carvings further. This has to interest the Society, or I'm a frog.

The gillman raises an eyebrow at Volyana, "I see you've deciphered some of the writing on the walls. I'm impressed. I do not know, what blessing the ritual of the Thief grants, for my slight of hand did not go unnoticed."
@Vigny: "For uncovering the mystery regarding my lost bretheren, I will be more than happy to share my knowledge of the rituals."
The amazing Diplomacy checks you've rolled every time he's been spoken to, plus returning the cloak, has helped move this along too.
For anyone who participates:
The gillman shows you the 4 rituals that were decipherable on the cavern walls.
1. The Thief: To complete the ritual, you must steal one of the colored stones from the city without anyone commenting on it for at least 1 minute. Anyone completing this receives: +1 AC Circumstance bonus from a single attack while benefiting from cover.
2. The Soldier: To complete this ritual, you must place a torch or other light source in the city. Anyone completing this receives: +1 AC Insight bonus if you've taken damage since the start of your last turn.
3. The Hunter: To complete this ritual, you must kill one of the centipedes in the pool. Anyone completing this receives: +1 AC Dodge bonus from any charge attacks.
4. The Tailor: To complete this ritual, you must wrap one or more garments around the circumference of the city. Anyone completing this receives: +1 bonus on a single attack roll made against a flanked target within 24 hours.

"Aah, well that's very cool." Volyana grabs a centipede from the water, cracks it in half, then offers it to Kaa. "Waste not, want not."
Hunter ritual.
Vigny Halgarsdottir
|
"Ah, that is very interesting. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Sir."
Vigny scribbles down the ritual descriptions as given by the gillman. Then she finds and skewers a centipede. She'll pass on the meal though. After that she cuts a small length off her rope, a couple of inches, and dips it in lamp oil. Placing it on the city sculpture, she lights it like a small candle.
In case we're not limited to one blessing
Brud Tuskbreaker

Brud will happily slice a bug in half, then toss it to Kaa as a meal.
Here ya go.
Brud than places his torch within the city walls.
Let there be light! he says in a slight mocking tone.
He doesn't have any thread nor does he feel like stealing from the city.

There was another passage heading west from the cavern we're in. Let's take it.
| Gimble, The Storyteller |
Moving on down the west passage: The persistent glow of the bluish fungi dimly lights the way deeper below the Kortos Mounts. The tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline.
On the opposite side of the river you see three squat humanoid looking creatures who seem to be nearly all head; an unfortunate circumstance, considering how ugly its puffy blue face is, along with a giant centipede.
The one in the middle points at the group and hollers, "Slaa verdi gedish haa!"
They move to attack.

As the shuriken skips off of it, the centipede turns its attention to Volyana and tries to bite her.

@Luna: No worries. I took away the clutter, so only the current map is in the header. The old maps are under the Campaign Info tab if anyone wants to look at them.

Ezekias searches the creatures, but other than a few small daggers and a few small darts, there is nothing of interest on them.
The cavern is a maze of tight passages that include steep ascents and short climbs. As you travel further you hear the sounds of battle echo through the caves. You can also hear Janira's muffled voice in the distance telling tales of heroic Pathfinders.

No time to lose. Let us make haste!
| Gimble, The Storyteller |
Upon hearing the sounds of battle and the realization that Janira hasn't lost the Minotaur, the group winds through the tunnels with urgency. Now the sounds of battle are much clearer. You can hear Janira, "As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!"
You feel you are almost there, but as you round the bend a reek of decay hits you as you see what looks like to be a carpet of fungi and mushrooms suddenly stirs to life.
