They are not clear on the spigot, but they say Disable Device, Knowledge (engineering), or Strength check to open the pipe. So I would say that it is like a faucet without the key to turn, it is difficult to do without the correct tools. (I would allow someone with Profession (plumber) to be able to do it as well. Mario? Luigi?) ^_^
There is nothing separating the rooms other than black sheets with the 7-pointed star. The only ones with doors are the barred rooms, such as the room holding the basilisks, but they are floor to ceiling bars, so they will not stop the water.
The gas is poisonous, not flammable. If you were to widen the crack to the point that is not easily seal-able then it could be a sufficient sabotage. Remember, poisons do not necessarily kill, so more than likely they will become sick, and a few might die, but it will probably not eradicate the cult.
Simple stealing or using the wand up is not really sabotage. Wands are relatively cheap, and if they can craft wands, it would be done in less than a day.

![]() |

Aye, I remember well we don't need to kill the cultists, so enlarging that crack would make sense. That said, we don't need to choose one sabotage over another, we can do many.
I'd suggest enlarging the crack, flooding, stealing the wand, desacralizing the statue (any ideas for statue "makeup"?).

![]() |

As much as going overboard would be very fun I think we should do one then run. I see the flooding as not hurting us by accident (poisoning ourself with stupidity). Can we try a Strenght check bust it off and make a run for it.

![]() |

Ok, one of you (Mr. Red probably) make the initial check, and up to 2 of you can aid another. Make any preparations if you would like to try to make this easier.

![]() |

Kynrac casts Guidance on Mr.Red. I'll also put on my smoked glasses in case anything goes wrong with the basilisks.

![]() |

LOL
Before we proceed this is what everyone wants? Speak up it is your character!
If so here are my preparations
- cast message on the party
- try to use inspire compentance bardic performance (+2 skill checks) via the message spell so it will not be too loud, primary performance is oratory so a little whisper speech of good luck to everyone assisting.
- can I get a knowledge check vs demons in general to remember to use either cold iron or silver vs them (incase of a visitor) knowledge planes: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
- have that headless body with the badge and note displayed on the floor in here
- i can assist if needed 16 STR 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 with a possible +2 from bardic performance.
I am all set and ready to go.

![]() |

Pulls out cold iron long sword
Advises everyone to do the same if they have cold iron.
Gentlemen, please use cold iron against any demons this cult has as pets, it is most effective.

![]() |

Don't worry I already have my cold iron weapon
Mr Red was ready to open the pipe with the help of the others

![]() |

Kynrac also casts Protection from Evil on all four party members just before we start.

![]() |

Mr. Red, are you going to use Strength, or do you have some skills that could be useful? (Strength will not be affected by Inspire Competence, while skills such as Disable Device or Knowledge (engineering) will.)
Also, who will be aiding you?

![]() |

Wait, I will become an half Orc before
Ragnar/Haraldson concentrate and little to little his figure change to become more Orc.
Cast alter-self +2 For, during 4mn
Mr Red is not the crafty one, he will use strength to open the sink

![]() |

Ok, looking at the map again, it looks like for someone to help, they would need to climb on the tables.
So make your roll, add 1 for Mr. Blue's guidance.

![]() |

Strength check: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9
His first try wasn't a success. Ragnar tried a second time, this time invocking his god's name.
GORUM !
Strength check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

![]() |

It takes three tries before Mr. Red powers it open, and foul water comes gushing out into the barrel. You figure you will probably have around a minute before it begins overflowing.

Mero - Random Pregen |

Any great idea about the statue? By the way, did you put the letter on a place dry enough? Everything is gonna get wet around here...
Mero will cast Obscuring Mist at the junction of the Bath room and the barracks.
How broken is the thing? Can it be fixed by a simple thing like Mending?

![]() |

No, it is actually forced open, it will be very difficult to fix. A simple mending spell will not undo the damage. (Remember also that mending has a casting time of 10 minutes.)

![]() |

Let the letter get soggy, if they can't read parts it may make them paranoid. Is this spigot broken? Meaning it cannot be shut off? If not maybe we could attack the pipe making it unrepairable. Someone wanted it busted in 3 spots before, I see the wisdom in that now.

![]() |

It's broken, but not irreparable. But remember, it's sabotage, but whether it is fully successful or not, what is important is that the cultists think that it is the Aspis Consortium.
So... Time to leave?

![]() |

Let's get out of here!
Kynrac checks the wand of purifying has been taken, and leaves with a calm, yet determined pace. His smoked glasses are on his nose.
Double moves, no running to avoid increasing the chances of being detected.

![]() |

Do you think flooded the place will suffice ?
Killing the demon will add to the confusion didn't it ?
asked Ragnar/Haraldson following his comrades

![]() |

Ok lets kill the demon
Does anyone else feel that making our big caper look like faulty plumbing is very lack-luster? I had hoped for uncontrollable amounts of rapid currents to spill forth from that broken spigot.
Takes a big sigh in from under his mask.
Mr. Red, I must confess that the monolithic demon in the other room I described may not be so... accurate. I will also confess that I was shaken up by this creature's precision of scarification and possible torture techniques. This led me to spin a yarn about the previously mentioned twenty-five foot demonic juggernaut behind the curtain. The demon, to more accurately describe it is man-sized, wreathed in chains, and seems to take a pleasure in carving flesh. If you wish to combat it I am with you if you take the lead. My nerves have settled since viewing the sight, again I am sorry for stretching the truth.

![]() |

Very well. It relieves me, for I would have been reluctant to let a demon on the Prime Material without even trying
Kynrac takes off his glasses, starts time flicker (20% miss chance, similar to blur) and casts Bless with his wand before the team goes in the demon's room to fight it.
Don't forget PfE and Bless. The benefits are: +1 morale to hit, +1 morale to saves vs. fear, +2 AC vs. Evil, +2 resistance to saves vs. Evil, a summoned creature can't touch or hit you with natural weapons (but a called demon such as this one can), immune to possession and similar effects from evil creatures.
By the way, now that Mr.Orange's told the truth, what does my 25 in Knowledge (planes) reveal about this demon?

![]() |

Not Good, Mr Orange to lie to your comrade. But as you're not a Northman I can understand why you're afraid. Don't worry I will kill this demon.
Do you want to be bigger ? I can do it for you.
[ooc]Ragnar can't use on him enlarge person so he could do it on Vasilios[/b]

![]() |

Becoming larger may increase my courage... Yes I would like that very much. Oh and Northman or not, it is a demon, most people would be afraid of a demon. You sir I cannot tell if you are insane or brave, it is often hard to distinguish the two. But I will follow your courage, mad or true, into the fold to smite this beast.
Vasilios's body language tells he is quite nervous about this encounter that is being planned.
If this was undead, or dragons, or abberations, or whatever, anything else really I would be quite fine, I think.
Vasilios prepares his coldiron longsword and whip.
Are we to charge in and just attempt to slaughter it? If so please lead the charge I will be right behind you.

![]() |

Ragnar call for Gorum to give courage to Vasilios, transforming him in a giant one.
Then he advanced weapon in hands ready to fight and kill
I think I'm both, ha !
Spells on Ragnar:
Alter Self : +2 strength
PfE : +1 save, +2 AC vs Evil Creature
Bless : +1 moral bonus to attack and save vs fear
AC22 (24vsEvil)/ +11 Att/ 2d6+13 (19-20)

![]() |

Will recast message on the party, and preform oratory in whispers through the spell to inspire courage. This gives +1 on attack and weapon damage, and saves against charm and fear that will stack with everything.
So Bless, bard song, PfE,
bonus to hit +2
bonus to damage +1
bonus to armor class +2 vs evil
bonus to saves +2 vs fear,+1 vs charm, +2 resistance to saves vs. Evil, a summoned creature can't touch or hit you with natural weapons (but a called demon such as this one can), immune to possession and similar effects from evil creatures

![]() |

You head out the door as quickly as possible, and Mr. Blue is halfway down the corridor, with the others behind him, when the statue that you were just talking about not long ago, slithers out and "looks" down the corridor. It squeezes and tries, but cannot make it down the corridor and shows why enlarge person will not work very well in here.

As for the information on the Kyton, I'm sharing it of course.

Reflex DC 14 covering squares A1. A2. B1. B2.

Yes Mr. Shadowtongue, you can easily have the silver dagger out instead.
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Does the Ebon Acolytus wield a real weapon or is it using natural weapons?

![]() |

It is wielding an actual weapon.
As Mr. Red rushes in the Ebon Acolytus swings at him with reach as he moves in. Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 14 - 2 = 18 Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 Blur miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 27 But the attack misses.

The pain of guilt, of failure, of fire that I carry with me every day, you will also feel.
Moving to G1, then casting Oracle's Burden on the acolytus. Will save DC 16, if the creature fails it'll suffer my curse's effects (-4 on weapon attack rolls). It is a curse effect.

![]() |

Move to E1. Will attempt a trip attack with the whip.
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 this includes the bonuses noted above and my improved trip feat
cmb: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
free action whispering bard song.
bardic speech I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend this hallway, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of demonic sacrificing demon animate statues, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do
More fails for my bucket of suck...

Mr. Blue steps forward, calling forth the power of the gods...
Will Save DC 16: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
...then the hands of the statue blacken and crack! Just be aware that some GMs may ask you for your proof of access to the book on this curse. ;) I have the book, but I had to do a little bit of searching to find this one. Remember, PFSRD is not a legal source. However the spell was from APG, so that one was ok.
Sorry, Vas...
Shadowtongue whips past Mr. Red's feet, trying to catch the serpentine lower body of the statue. Despite its unsure footing, Shadowtongue's effort in unrewarded.
