This is the discussion thread for the SFS The Commencement game i'm gonna run for Outpost.

The game won't start before march 5th, but you're welcome to post here if you are signed up for the game.

I'm sorry guys but I must withdraw from the game. My schedule next week is simply too chaotic (a lot of traveling) for me to be able to post consistently. Have a great game!

The game will certainly run longer than a week. So if you only have one chaotic week, i see no reason to withdraw, unless you think it's gonna be that way for you the whole time.

I am here to take the 6th slot. Is there a gameplay thread for dotting?

There is now and i packed an intro there with some background information.

I have both played once and GMed once.

I've neither played nor run it; this is, in fact, my first SFS game.

I have played through this scenario once at a con back in September.

I will be playing a brand new character. I dotted in with this shirren mechanic, but I am currently leaning towards playing a ysoki soldier (priest)1.

I don't know who that Reepicheep is, but that would probably be better discussed in the discussion thread ;)

My apologies. Reepicheep is a talking mouse adventurer in the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. He adheres to a clear code of honor and chivalry and is a most devout and loyal companion.

I would suspect that the slots are likely to go fast. That being said, I don't mind a late start if it means that it gives more people an opportunity to play.

But if the others want to get going quickly, I am fine with that too.

Make that two players, I'm afraid. Between planning for a technical conference (will probably be a session chair for the first time), recovering from a lab fire, and dealing with a massive reorg in my directorate, I shouldn't have tried to commit to something as time-critical as a Game Day game. Better that I bail now than go days between posts--something much more tolerable in a regular PbP.

Is a spot still open?

I have both played and GMed this on other characters.

Hayato, I am betting that if I post on Flaxseed Station, we can get this filled in a couple hours.

EDIT: Can you hold a spot for Argon-42? They were looking for a Commencement spot in Flaxseed.

If you're looking for another, I'd be keen to jump in: will roll up whatever the group needs. Haven't played any organised play in years, and this seems like a cool way of getting back in.

Yes. Had an intense day and have to travel visit a client tomorrow as well as a feverish baby right now, but we're starting!

Sorry to hear about your baby and work demands. I understand what those an "intense day" can be like, as I am a father of three, now ages 4-10, and also have a job that requires dealing with demanding clients. I also understand that sometimes that an "intense day" can at times stretch out into an "intense week". Please do whatever you need to do for your family and your job. I think we all understand the demands of life.

We appreciate your stepping up to run a game for Outpost. We players are just excited to get going and eager to begin. Looking forward to playing!

Actually thinking about getting Starfinder for Fantasy Grounds to run stuff there as well whenever possible.

Afraid we already are 6 players now. Sorry!

Fantasy Grounds needs the GM to run a server, so unless that server is always running i think it's not good for PBP. Also the chat seems to be deleted every time the server goes down, not a good option.
I'm pretty new with the program though and certainly don't know everything.
I think it's more Virtual tabletop.

I would like to play this character at PaizoCon. Zeyram is Tier 1 with the wayfarer faction, and that is the next time I will be playing outside my normal region.

Is there any chance this will be done by about May 20th? I've got some travel just before the convention which is why it would be nice to be done by then.

Outpost is scheduled to end on April 30th, so presumably that is the time-line.

My concern was that at the rate we are progressing, we may not finish by then. Two weeks in and we have not completed any of the tasks yet.

I generaly try to give everyone a chance to do something before i move on the story, but i can move faster if necessary.
This is not a speedrun though.

It's not a speed run but I prefer for the GM to move things forward every 24 hours or so based on the players that *have* posted.

Unfortunately I met paizo downtime in my posting times. No worries I'm on it though and will also try a different time today.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday; my kids were up later than usual and by the time I got them down I was exhausted. And it is doubly unfortunate because the 1st Thursday of every month is a tough day for me to post and it is not going to happen tonight.

Just realized my profile still had damage from the last adventure. I fixed that and brought my spells back to full. Haven't used any yet today (until now).
