Guten tag!

I think I should explain the strange recruitment. It wasn't only my decision that mattered in selecting you three. Rosa, Vi and Eleanor are players in my other homebrew game. They're more than just players (Rosa's also my wife), they're my friends even though we haven't met anywhere but here on Paizo. Their opinion carries a lot of weight with me and you were all given the go-ahead by them. Wowing them at some points even.

We were settled on Aneirin and Amara pretty much out of the gate and Alton had a backstory that stood head and shoulders above the remaining few. I didn't want to leave a lot of time for someone to toss in a stupid submission because 1) we had already seen enough of that and 2) I didn't want to diminish the work you three had done. You showed motivation, creativity and a genuine desire to play a game that was more than about murder hobos.

My first homebrew, which is still running, shaped a lot of the rules for this recruitment. We had to drop people who didn't want to keep with the tone of the game, who were more obsessed with being the "star" rather than a team player or didn't even try to integrate with the group. Vi, Eleanor and Rosa like the stories I created and jumped on this as soon as I cooked up the idea. So by being chosen for this, we not only recognize that you're good players, but we hope we can be good friends too.

Alright, I'm done blabbing. I'll set up a little prologue for you guys to roleplay in while everyone finishes getting their characters set.

Well well well. If it ain't Jin (Eleanor) and Anyka (Vivian) too. I knew Christophe and Gashka were here (GM Dust and Rosa) but I didn't realise you guys were here too.

Hi Alton and Amara! Really the only one I don't know here is Alton - Amara and I are playing a pair of ex-soldier warforged in an Eberron PbP that just started...

Lookin forward to some interesting roleplay, plots, encounters and character development. I can't promise the posting rates you guys rattle off, but I do read every post... At least in the Discussion thread where all the important stuff happens... (kidding ;p)

Hello Aneirin, as you're the first to pop into the discussion I gusss you get first pick on how you'd like to be portrayed on the battle maps. Having three A's on the board would get pretty confusing.

Well if there are no "N" 's use an N for Nye. That is Aneirin's nickname. :)

@Dust

I'm debating whether or not to purchase armor and weapons. Is Oldenburg or the learning center the kind of place where walking around with that sort of thing it the norm?

I'm here. I will post again later as I am getting ready for work. Plus breakfast.

Hi everyone since everyone kind of knows each other and I'm the odd man out I'll give a brief history of my gaming history.

I've been been playing for about 3 years now Gming the entire time as well. My first system was D&D 4e and was my primary system until about year and half ago when my friend Noble converted me to Pathfinder. I write on RP forum for Megatokyo so I'm used to non d20 roleplaying and combat. Otherwise I'm happy to be here and hope that Alton can live to see all the stories that happen here.

What a small world it is, glad to see you Nye. HEheheh I am very much looking forward to playing with all of you. *waves hellos*

Don't worry Alton, we won't play too rough with you, and we'll all be very good friends I'm sure. So...everything will work out, okay? Seriously though, I've very glad you're here. You're backstory was very touching and it made me....feel stuff. Nye already knows how I feel about him, and Amara...it'll be a pleasure getting to know you as well. I'm sorry that I'm only getting on now, I've had a rough few days and had to take something last night to make me sleep. I'm feeling a little more rested now though, after sleeping for almost 10 hours.

You'll notice I do alot of talking, I hope that's okay. LOL

Hey, sorry I didn't say anything earlier...but, I loved your story Amara. Things have been a little crazy and I only just had time to look at it. It was very good as well. Nice job portraying her yearning for freedom. In that way she has a lot in common with Rose. :o)

Touching story. You put a lot of thought into it and it shows. I like it.

Thanks! It fit with her having predator instincts. That side of her wants to be free, very much so. That is why I chose Chaotic Good for an alignment. I would have done Neutral Good if not for that.

Female Dhampir Gunslinger 4; HP: 32/33; AC: 17, T: 14, FF: 13, Init: +4; Fort: +4, Ref: +8, Will: +4; Perception +10

Actually, I'm sure all of us are yearning for freedom at this point, it's just that 129 years makes a really really long time to be wanting something soooo badly.

Female Human Rogue 1

That's gonna be interesting. Keep somebody in a cage for over 100 years, then give them freedom (technically just a bigger cage with the illusion of freedom) and things could get pretty crazy.

Female Dhampir Gunslinger 4; HP: 32/33; AC: 17, T: 14, FF: 13, Init: +4; Fort: +4, Ref: +8, Will: +4; Perception +10

I see Amara as someone that Rose would become close to, given her size and the cruel nature of children.....I could see her sticking up for Amara a lot. I can't seem to get away from my caregiver nature no matter what I play. LOL Besides, you and rose are both a little small. I mean you're the smaller of the two of us, but Rose is only 5'4". *Puts fingers up to forehead and closes eyes* I foresee many hugs in your future Amara. LOL

(sorry honey, I just had to use that! LOL)

Female Dhampir Gunslinger 4; HP: 32/33; AC: 17, T: 14, FF: 13, Init: +4; Fort: +4, Ref: +8, Will: +4; Perception +10

yup yup yup....It's gonna be fun too though I think. If they don't want to give us freedom....we'll just make our own cuz that's how we roll. LOL

I'm up now, gonna have to get ready for the invasion of the dreaded mother in law though. It's better now that we don't live with her anymore. That was one of the biggest mistakes we ever made, well I made, but we'll never do it again.

Female Dhampir Gunslinger 4; HP: 32/33; AC: 17, T: 14, FF: 13, Init: +4; Fort: +4, Ref: +8, Will: +4; Perception +10

Sorry sorry, I'm just excited and I tend to babble when I'm excited. Okay, off to get ready for mommy dearest.

Well, it looks like we're off to a friendly start at least.

@Eleanor: You can do that now or wait until you are in Oldenburg. I was hoping to leave it for your arrival but it'd be just taking up time with something trivial. Though if you do wait, it can add an interesting roleplaying scenario.

I also like to make my games a bit multimedia, to enhance the experience. I'll link to songs and label them soundtrack if they're for in game. I have also set up the dreaded Pinterest board, which I will link in the campaign thread.

Dreaded Pinterest? Why that label?

Since you offer additional RP, I will start with no gear (even though it is on my alias) and obtain it in Oldenburg. I like RP.

I was being sarcastic, but I'm sure my older players knew I'd set one up. It really does help to flesh out ideas though. I'm glad Vi introduced me to it.

Gotcha. I use Pinterest to look for varying pics that interest me, including for role-playing. I like what you have set up so far.

Female Human Rogue 1

Pinterest can get interesting at times, but it makes for great visuals, and with steampunk it will only be more visually engaging. Been listening to the Tron Legacy soundtrack visualize the train ride.

Oh added basic packground

@GMV I just have a question out of curiosity and I mean no offense by it whatsoever, but....why aren't you posting as Amara? The rest of us have been posting with our characters, so I was curious as to if there was a reason why you weren't?

I suppose I should. I have seen some games that didn't get off the ground (and that annoyed me greatly) so I have developed a habit of not posting on the alias till the game started. It makes me able to delete it if I don't want it anymore. Just an old habit that I never broke. I will start posting as Amara. :)

Female Human Rogue 1

Ther's a;ready 2 posts in the game thread as prelude. Don't worry, we're not the sputtering start kinda group.

Indeed. Just some habits I cling to for one reason or another. I am here to stay. I really like the game concept a lot. I look forward to more.

We're creatures of habit. Some are better than others though.

Just FYI Amara, during your times in the gardens is where you would have seen Rosalina. She didn't like being cooped up in her room all the time, so many times she would take her materials and go out into the garden to sew where she could feel like she was out a little more in nature. She can make other things besides clothing as well, as long as they're simple in nature, ie..cloth hand bags, handkerchiefs, little things like that.

Alton, your gentle nature and quick wit provided us with much needed relief from the everyday rigid routine and kept our spirits up with your stories and antics.

Nye...what can I say? You're just Nye, all around good guy. You're never very far from trouble, either helping to create it...or help get others out of it. In a world where individuality is basically frowned upon, your presence and awareness of self is a breath of fresh air in the stale environment.

Vi, there's no need for an explanation here....you are the wonder that is Vi. Getting us both in and out of trouble, but mostly helping the rest of us not lose our minds while locked up in the Center with your knack for getting us into areas that aren't strictly allowed. Hehehe

Finally Eleanor, since you spent so much of your time in the more machine parts of the school, we may not have seen you around as much as some of the others.....but, your gadgets and earlier experiments would also give us hours of entertainment.

That's pretty much how I picture it in my mind. The way we all kinda know of each other, or some of us knowing each other better than others. I just wanted to see what everyone else's thoughts were about this.

Female Human Rogue 1

Would this qualify as "use of a broken object"?

Fixer

You can improvise tools and materials in order to keep a damaged object working for just a little bit longer.
Benefit: Once per day, you can tinker with a broken object to allow anyone who uses it to ignore the penalties for its broken condition for 24 hours (this does not affect the object’s hit points). At the end of this time, it regains the broken condition (but you can use this trait on it over and over again).

@Vi: Yes, it does.

About to head out for lunch with my mom, be back in a little while.

@Rosa thats one way to deal with a problem.

She's very...proactive.

Combat map is up by the campaign description, that's where you'll always find it.

Edit: I know a few GM's do things differently and I've adapted things that I like to my own style. I try to be meticulous.

Never challenge a Sicilian when death is on the line. LOL Courtesy of The Princess Bride. She could be taken for a Sicilian with her skin and hair coloring. The only thing that points out she's not quite human are her little fangs and violet colored eyes. Lol

I've moved on beyond goblins and rats as first level encounters.

Wow....huge ass storm outside now. Thunder and lightning are actually shaking our apartment. LOL That's what I get for getting excited.

Sorry about the abrupt way this all started, but he was making threats and the protector in me just couldn't let that happen.

I was thinking about using my charmed person but I had a feeling i would get shot.

I should really write up a document about my play style. If your name is in bold in the initiative order, you may declare your actions. I usually resolve attacks as they are posted to minimize waiting, while other actions occur as others post.

There is a bit of chaos to it, but I try to maintain game flow over order.

I'll probably post other aspects as I think of them...

That's quite alright Alton, there will be other ways you can help....like singing a song to cheer all of us up after we throw his dead ass off the train. LOL ie..Throw Lenz from the train...sorry, I'm just feeling super giddy right now.
