'Dean' Ninian Beard |
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
"Watch yourself, men," Dean calls out. "I'd lay a wager the bad fairy is still here, despite the fact that we can't see her. She didn't seem too happy with the results of her efforts, though, which may bode well for us." He takes a few quick strides forward ending next to the pool, which should put him within range and fires his hand crossbow at the spawn.
Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Sir Herbert Atkins |
New Map, a bit easier to place yourselves, if/when.
A-F along the top, 1-10 down the side....

Witz and Dean both shoot true, with gas tanks hissing, and bolts hitting home into the spawn. The Spawn moves forward in a rage at it's closest target, Emannual, it's limbs and bite flail, but it fails to do any damage. Emanual swings his sword, and breaks the creature clean in two, it lies in a heap on the floor.
Luc and Reynard fire bolts off into thin air, and elicit a high pitched screech in response.
A small silver dagger flies out (DC20 perception check to see which sq it came from) at Luc, hitting him (and doing 2 points of damage), and then returning to where it came from...
'Dean' Ninian Beard |
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Dean was focussing too much on the visible threat to do more than flinch when the dagger appeared out of nowhere. "Well struck, Emanuel," he calls out. "I trust we won't be finding that meat on the menu in your restaurant however." Keeping his guard up, he holds his dueling cape at the ready to fend off attacks from the invisible fairy. Total defense, AC 21
Sir Herbert Atkins |
Sorry for the delay folks, yet another hectic week!
Emanuel throws himself at the square he believes the thing to be in, but as his hand brushes against it, it slips through his grasp. While Dean moves to protect himself, Wits' shot has no visible (or audible) effect...
Sir Herbert Atkins |
Focusing on the direction Emmanuel ran in Reynard scans the ground looking for drops of blood from the self inflicted cut.
Track1d20+6
You see a few splatters of green ichor, that could have come from the thing, but they are not in the region that the others are targeting...
Luc Dantes aka Javell |
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Luc fires at the imp with his crossbow, aiming at the same general spot as Wits. "I must say, Luc is not much for fighting what can't be seen, mon amis."
Light crossbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
No point in rolling percentage chance with that roll.
Visibly frustrated at the truth of his words as his bolt hits the stone wall cleanly.
Sir Herbert Atkins |
I'm taking that as readying an action Reynard? If so, make the attack/spot/damage/miss chance rolls now
Emanuel, and Luc, both have less luck than they would like with their attacks, and a low cackling moves faintly across the room, a dagger flashes out, and strikes Emanuel (for 1 point of damage).
Next round....
Luc Dantes aka Javell |
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Luc reloads his crossbow move and attempts, again, to hit the unseen creature.
Lgt. Crossbow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Percentage chance: (Will go for above 50. (Unless of course you have your own preference.) 1d100 ⇒ 88
Lgt. Crossbow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Obviously I failed my perception, so these rolls may be for naught anyway. Went ahead and rolled for it anyhow.
Sir Herbert Atkins |
Bolts fly everywhere, but none stop and disappear in mid air, so it's a good bet that none hit anything....
From over the blue pool, a low muttering can be heard in a language that none of you recognise. Nothing happens, but those of you who have studied the arcane arts can tell that a spell is being cast....
Next round. Oh, and could you please provide co-ordinates with your post, I'll try to update the map then. I'm getting a little confused!
Luc Dantes aka Javell |
B1
Perception to pinpoint muttering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
"Okay, my little friend. Maybe I can guess right this time." He says as he reloads his crossbow, takes aim at nothing, and fires in the area of the muttering.
Lgt. Crossbow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Percentage, 50 and above again: 1d100 ⇒ 60

Lgt. Crossbow 1d20 + 5
Damage: 1d8Percentage, 50 and above again: 1d100
Luc's bolt flies true over the pool, and winks out of existence. At the same time, a loud and piercing shriek echos around the room, the chanting also stops.
Sir Herbert Atkins |
"You'll not get away that easy!" Emanuel screams as he leaps across the pool trying to tackle the invisible fiend.
Grapple 1d20+6
Percentile high 1d100 sumb*%##!
Emanual jumps, and belly flops into the ice-cold water of the pool.
As he raises his head above water, he feels claws, and teeth sink into his flesh, take 2 points of damage and make me a DC16 Fort save or take 1d2 points of Dex damage.
Next Round...
Luc Dantes aka Javell |
What is that overgrown brute doing? This is no time for a swim! Luc thinks to himself as he reloads his crossbow, with hope that he can hit "nothing" again.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
"I think Luc has a bead on you, mon ami diabolique. Let's see if he can make you suffer a little more." He again aims at nothing and fires.
Lgt. Crossbow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Percentage staying with high: 1d100 ⇒ 79
Crit roll
Lgt. Crossbow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Edit: BOOM! Pretty freaking awesome! Unfortunately I couldn't crit. Dangit! Oh well, hitting is hard enough. And sadly, this thing is probably immune to most of my damage anyway. Oh well, it's still cool! :)
'Dean' Ninian Beard |
Dean lets loose a surprised curse as his erstwhile bodyguard suddenly flies past him and splashes him with cold water. Desperately, he keeps his concentration, though, knowing he's the only one who can see the magical aura. He hopes that the rest of the group can fish Emanuel out -- and that what he's watching isn't just a decoy as the invisible imp flits up behind him ready to strike.
Watching to see if the aura makes any move. If it doesn't, he's going to assume that the creature is dead/unconscious but still levitating and turn his attention to the pool of water.
