Zuberu is shocked at the sight of the crocodilian warrior. Why would one bearing Sobek's visage throw his lot in with the cultists? Undeterred, Zuberu beats his chest and points him out.

Does it look like he's accepted the challenge?

Elmar will fire a handful of adamantine arrows at the golem, and wait to see if the cultists respond to Zuberu.
Improved Precise Shot lets him fire through the blade barrier without penalty.

I'm going to roll a 1d20 will+bravery to find out his honor roll. dc 15 and he obeys you.
honor: 1 + 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + 3 + (7) = 11 first number is will saving throw, 2nd number is bravery. I could care less about being a coward, me and everyone else could squash you all.
okay elmar would have to wait for the golem to step into the door just to have a shot. but that his enough to kill the golem and do 46 to a mud elemental after damage reduction.
zub and kaylor still have a turn. PS: Kaylor, hope you had a nice flight. Where did you fly to?
at nahoce, I put the circle at send to back, I know where the lines go, but I could move characters as it got in my way.

Zuberu shakes his head in disappointment.
"You are no servant of Sobek but a coward who wears his skin and are unworthy of that form. Perhaps after I've defeated you and dropped your broken body to the ground, you'll learn some measure of honor."
The giant priest darts thorough Nahoce's curtain of blades and moves to engage Rathos.
Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Not sure how close I can get. Also is Themi a man or a woman?

Kaylor will just wait for the cultists to move towards him and then attack them, passing his time by making his blade keen, flaming, and frosty.

you can not get there unless you delay and wait for the mud elementals. Because the mud elementals are blocking the door. Unless you want to engage the mud elementals.
also when it comes Kaylors turn as he has his action readied, the cultists hate to do it, but they have to pass through the barrier. dmg: 12d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 3, 1, 3, 4, 6, 4, 5, 3, 3) = 44
reflex: 14 + 1d20 ⇒ 14 + (6) = 20
one of them is able to survive after passing through the blades and getting hit by kaylors attacks. hit: 14 + 1d20 ⇒ 14 + (3) = 17 and the attack misses kaylor.
Zub still has a decision to make.
DoubleGold
okay, rolling damage for elementals as they aren't smart enough to stay put. also the other named creature is female.
dmg: 12d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2, 6, 5, 3, 1, 3, 3, 6, 4, 6) = 46 that is a 36 after dr
zub, you passed through it too, but made a reflex, so you take 23 damage from that.
reflex: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (11) = 15
okay, so now all enemies
one golem uses his breath weapon. everyone fort saves dc 17, except nahoce and zub
the other will try to slam one person hit: 26 + 1d20 ⇒ 26 + (15) = 41 elmar is closest he takes dmg: 2d10 + 14 ⇒ (6, 6) + 14 = 26damage.
honor: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (20) = 24 dc 15 to see if the crocodile and the woman run away from zub, so to see if they are cowards.
the crocodile will try to bite zub hit: 23 + 1d20 ⇒ 23 + (6) = 29

also the cultist have to save against the gas fort: 12 + 1d20 ⇒ 12 + (17) = 29
oh, right the good paladin can attack and will attack the evil lady
hit: 12 + 1d20 ⇒ 12 + (11) = 23 after moving

fort save: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (1) = 9
So post results:
Zub took a total of 39 damage.
elmar took 26 damage.
Themi took 40 damage.
the elementals took 36 damage each from the blades.

they will try to take revenge. It will use earth glide. Nahoce, silver, kaylor and elmar, fort saves, dc 15. It would be impossible to stun you all, but it don't know that.
Also noone made fort saves from last round, though unless 1s are rolled, it would be a pass for all those who would have had to save, so ignoring it for now and gonna say nothing lower than a 2 was rolled.

Thanks, forgot to 5-foot-step.
Fort saves: 2d20 ⇒ (16, 10) = 26 Elmar's fine.

okay so Rathos is the victime of a glabrezu's twisted wish. The wish transformed him into a crocodile-headed monstrosity wracked with pain, granting him the broken soul template and natural bite and slam attacks. In addition, it powered him up.
As the heroes travel west they run into a Shaitan all tied up. There are no traps, and no one around
Zuberu
"Of course", Zuberu says before doing just that.
"These cultists are weak. My companions and I will punish them for what they've done to you and, perhaps later, I will share mighty Sobek's blessings of virility with you and you can tell me what interest this forgetten pharaoh and his cult had in you."

She gives zub a kiss on the check. and rescueing her makes you all level up
Now listen, I know exactly which room the forgotten pharaoh is in and I can lead you right there, thus avoiding all the battles if you want. and We could collapse this place afterward killing all the enemies inside, which the forgotten pharaoh has a device to do so in case he would ever need to. You will get the artifacts you need that way, but miss out on some of the treasure. Or if you want to go exploring and kill everything manually that is okay too, if you really want the treasure. It will take the government only a few weeks to rebuild this place anyway.
She then pauses for a minute
and yes the collapse will destroy ghosts too. Oh and when we get out of here, would you be kind to return me home? I personally want to get out of this place, but it is up to you. She tells you where her home is, which is about 12 miles or one hex away from this tomb.
Nahoçe Sijed

Agreed.
Kaylor Traice
So, the genie kisses Zuberu and he levels up? If I were him, I'd be extra interested in finding out what sleeping with her would do. :-P
Kaylor shrugs noncommittally. For a brief moment, he feels pity for the poor pharaoh when thinking what he's about to face.
Why do we care about this pharaoh guy? Mainly, do we actually have a good reason to kill him, as it seems we are about to do?
DoubleGold
it was rescueing her that made you all level up. You all leveled up upon untying her.
You all notice Kaylor and the girl gone for 1 minute then they catch up with you all.
this pharaoh guy is in charge of the forgotten cultists, ie. the forgotten pharaoh himself and they are up to no good, and even if killing him does not seem right to the players/characters, putting a stop to it all is definitely a must. Also there will be about 1-2 battles before the pharaoh, as there are some other bosses I need to get out there.
Okay so the hereos decide to go straight to the boss. 3 stealth checks from everyone. You can use potions and other means to increase stealth, as the journey will take 3 minutes, so 1 per minute instead of per round.
Nahoçe Sijed

Nahoce casts Comprehend Languages, then spends two rounds using Read Thoughts. If any intelligent creatures (say, INT > 10) are discovered, she will spend an extra round to read their thoughts.
@GM: Results, please, especially if that will affect the necessity for stealth efforts or buffing.
She has a scroll of Effortless Armor for anyone who desires it.
Finally, she will cast Silence as needed up to two times for 26 rounds of silence, which other party members may benefit from if they stay close to her. Not sure what specific benefit that is to Stealth, but here's my rolls anyway:
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Levelled up, but still formatting my insanely long spell list (which makes me go over the size limit for saving to the database).
Kaylor Traice
I'm confused as to how a tongue-in-cheek comment turned into a 1 minute someone else's tongue in cheek moment, but whatever.
As most likely the stealthiest member of the group (due partially to invisibility), Kaylor will take point with Remiel hanging slightly behind.
Kaylor

@Nahoce, with your read thoughts quite a few of these are undead, smart undead. and all of the undead in any given group are within 30 feet. If you and zub channel energy at the same time, it would be one heck of a surprise round, especially since many of them are behind closed doors. In fact, if you're lucky enough you might be able to one shot a whole group of creatures making your stealth much easier. Of course failure to take out the enemy quickly results in alerting them. Do you wish to channel energy? You would have the surprise round to kill them and if you go first in init round 1, otherwise they alert others as soon as they act in round 1. also, slightly extra exp if you do, and that goes for any enemies.
You also notice a few cultists of Areshkagal, they are different in that they are half bird, half human. Ie. Maftet. Last by not least 1 unitelligent creature.
Also silence gives +13, but Demons which do exist in this dungeon have plenty of other methods of noticing you as perception is sight, sound and smell. Taste and touch too, but where not going there. Not to mention, Demons are located a little closer to you all when you stealth. Only +6 against Demons.
Okay so you can all trust your stealths are high enough and go for the bosses, or you can channel and kill the undead (9 of these), or surprise round on the demons (5 of these). Or surprise round on the Maftets (7 of these). Killing one set of enemies reduces the perceptions of other enemies by 3 since they bounce off each other for communication and whatnot. And you can also kill the 1 unitelligent creature and reduce all other enemies perceptions by 1.
Each set of creatures is in a different room.
Oh and silver, with his 34 stealth and added 13/6 silence bonus, rolling a 1 is still high enough that he can't fail
Nahoçe Sijed
|
Thanks, DG. Nahoce suggests we take out the undead first. She will always suggest that, as fighting undead is her most important goal.
It might be slightly more tactically effective to use surprise on the others, then use Channel Energy when the undead make their appearance.
Thoughts, heroes?
DoubleGold
okay go ahead and roll channel energies, one from each of you. You can't get others on the surprise round, because that would involve them opening doors to get to the monsters, which would ruin the surprise round, so opening doors would be part of someones move on round 1 assuming they don't die in the surprise.
