Whelp, this will be interesting. Hope SB has fun trying to convince Kaylor that he's not evil.

Kaylor frowns. As expected! He betrays us. Smug bliksem. His eyes narrow as he focuses, trying to hit the invisible creature.

In the middle of the round, it begins to rain. And those engineers, that don't know how to build has part of the ceiling collapse. Kaylor again uses his tail to retrieve something from his belt, and drinks a potion of CLW.

DungeonMaster

did not realize your touch AC was so high Kaylor, I'm not use to characters having a touch AC above 15 at low levels, especially since a number above 20 is rare. You must get bonus from Dex plus something else. Yes it missed you.

Anyway Round 4 everyone is up again and then the monster. Then Nahoce
Elmar and Silver have to roll will saves and 13 means you can do something this round.

And the golem had lots of masks on him that were valueable and some gems on him, which I'm just going to give you all in cash as a traveling merchant appears. The library has documents that are valueable, but the building will be repossed when the dangers are cleared out and you will get paid for it.

Ok, I would like to point out that the correct RPing thing to do here is to have Kaylor continue to attack SB until he manages to convince him that he's not an evil backstabbing dirtbag.

And the potion was from loot, but we originally got 2, so there should still be one left. You also probably don't need to keep track of old loot, as I have it all marked down.

After looking through some books a hero finds out the following.

A stone tablet written is deciferred. It is a royal decree of Pharaoh Djederet II. The table refers to the hiding of the mask of the Forgotten Pharaoh within the Sanctum of the Erudite Eye. Djederet II was pharaoh of Osirion sometime around -1600 AR, over 6,000 years ago. The hero determines that the city mentioned in the tablet as Wati and knows that Djederet II founded the city. A symbol then become visible from reading it. In the upper right hand corner and eye bisected by a vertical line. The mark has long been used by Osirian priests of Nethys to invoke the god's blessing and denote important documents. No references to the table or the symbol can be found among the surviving documents in the library. And the traveling merchant buys the tablet it is is worth nothing to the heroes and can't do anything.

Heroes explore the north door they just pick. Roll perception with +5 bonus since you know someone was here

Also the loot

Akhentepi's armor:

Sell value 2618. weighs 10 pounds. Relic
This suite of +1 stanching padded armor is of traditional Osirian design consisting of a quilted cuirass of lightweight, breathable linen, a linen kilt; and a teardrop-shaped groin guard of stiffened lined. Besides its anti-bleeding properties, Akhentepi's armor grants its wear a sense of impending danger. Once per day as a free action, when the wearer attemps an initiative check, the wearer can add +3 to the check.

table of lost languages:

Table of Languages Lost. Sell value 995. Relic
2 feet long, 1 foot wide and an inch and a 1/3 thick. It has 3 langauges, ancient Osiriani, Kelish and contemporary Osirani. It has the alphabet on it, so people can easily translate things between the 3 langauges if they don't know how to read. For example, if you know how to read Kelish, but not contemporary Osirani, this is your guide.
Once per day you can invoke the power of this tablet to read any language of your choice for 30 minutes. You cannot read secret languages however such as Druidic. You must have at least 3 ranks in linguistics to use this special power and in additional you get a +3 to linguistics.

Silver bullet can says Sorry about that, I was under a spell. Elmar can vouch for me. Yes Elmar you know that you were under a spell trying to attack Nahoce and Silver

At Kaylor, although you can purposely attack Silver Bullet, that is kind of a death wish. As you are up against and invisible character that will attack back if purposely attacked knowing that Kaylor is not under a spell. I have no problem replacing him, but that is asking for the fight of your life, not to mention I have no idea how the other PCs would react to that.

Kaylor's eyes narrow suspiciously at the spot where he imagines SB to be standing, his eyes flicking from that spot to Elmar and back again. Either he's an incredibly weak-willed buffoon, of he's merely using this as an excuse. Mayhaps I'll let it slide this time. But if it should happen again... The corners of his mouth turn up just slightly as he imagines getting rid of the annoying creature who clearly views himself as above the rest of the group. Or at least, seems to be under the impression that he's the only one with a brain.

Upon hearing Nahoçe's question, Kaylor awkwardly waves his wand about. "Oh, I could have... It's not that great in combat, but otherwise..." His voice trails off a couple of times as he continues to look awkward. He seems to gather himself in an attempt to be a bit more coherent. "Out of combat, I can heal well."

After briefly considering trying to convince SB that he should totally try to disarm the trap, Kaylor decides that his social skills are too lacking to be able to pull it off. He then starts casting Ray of Frost at it repeatedly.

I'm not going to bother to roll. Both because Kaylor only misses on a natural 1 and because it's a cantrip, so unless we need to know exactly how much time passes, there doesn't seem to be much of a point.

After destroying the trap, Kaylor pauses to contemplate their next course of action. We could ignore the Hand and hope they leave us alone. But given their actions thus far, that seems unlikely. We could hope that they continue to send members at us one at a time, but that would require them to be stupid, which is probably not an assumption we can afford to make. It also means that they get to choose the location of our confrontation, potentially getting the drop on us.

His mind made up, Kaylor speak. "It...might be best not to leave enemies at our back." He pauses, trying to remember what he had heard about the group. "The followers of Nethys will probably fight to the death, but perhaps we could convince their mercenary Idorii to swap sides? We could try luring them in to a trap."

We could get SB to scout ahead since he's invisible. Try to see where they are, so we know a good place to set up a trap. But I'm not sure I trust him enough to give him such an important job. The wand of vanishing won't work as it won't last long enough. We could try imitating the voice of their companion, but I doubt any of us are skillful enough for that.

He continues to try to think of the best way to get the drop on their foes.

Elmar, if you want to continue exploring the first floor, I suggest you say something IC. The possibility of an ambush before we can set one up ourselves is not one that has occurred to Kaylor yet. I'm personally fine either way.

As heroes move to the middle... I drew the middle part, because it is important to the story

Room 5
Space and elevation lend a sense of past gradeur and majesty to this large space. A large, Star-shaped fountain Dm manmade shaped fountain with a cicular pool dm shape in the center sits in the middle of the chamber. The bottom of the pool is decorated with great mosaic eye made from tiny colored tiles, and hieroglyphs are carved into the paving stones ringing the fountain. Two rows of colums support the ceiling overhead, which continue to rise to a domed ceiling in the northern portion of the chamber. At the far end of the hall, a massive statue with arms raised overlooks the entire length of the temple from atop a raised dais. East and west of the fountain, two sets of stone double doors exit the chamber.

The minotaur hurt says...

giant:
They called our bluff, this time we finish them for good.

@Avelloran, though you failed sense motive...you still have a round 1 action to perform as you still went before these things. Or you can choose to make SB big which would increase the damage he dealt round 1 by 1d6+1.

The surprise has been broken and this resets everyone's readiness...init rerolled for round 2

init: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (17) = 17 minotaur
init: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (17) = 17 minotaur

init: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (5) = 11 elmar
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (10) = 13 nahoce

Avelloran has 2 actions, round 1 and round 2
Silver, Kaylor I'm going to wait till avelloran does his 2 attacks before posting with Silver
Minotaur, Minotaur
Nahoce, Elmar

Casting Enlarge person on Silver bullet, Avelloran taps his shoulder and then scrubbed his hand clean immediately.

I will ready an action to cast Create Pit if the Minotaur/s charge.

I got a free surprise round action, which is what I took. Then we go in the new initiative order, which puts my first full-round action after the minotaurs, but I believe you (Kaylor) still get to move before them.

Ahh, right. I missed that you did that already. My bad.

Kaylor casts shocking grasp, and then waits for the minotaur to step towards him to attack. When that happens, he'll 5ft step and attack the creature.

To Hit(spell): 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 - 2 = 14

The minotaurs attack. First one tries to hit Silver with its full round action Great axe plus gore. attack: 9 + 1d20 ⇒ 9 + (12) = 21 attack 2: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (3) = 7 attack 3: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (2) = 6 and only hits silver once
damage: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4) + 6 = 15
avelloran expecting it to charge, but it does not.

The other minotaur charges at Kaylor attack: 11 + 1d20 ⇒ 11 + (13) = 24
And he also gets hurt badly upon entering Kaylor's reach, more than bloodied in a single blow. But bounces of Kaylors tough armor.

Nahoce and Elmar are up for end of round 2
Then top of Round 3, Silver, Kaylor, Avelloran

odd CG, I don't remember that, but okay

Elmar is also CG.

Knowledge (religion): 1d20 ⇒ 20

Just to be safe, in case it's a skeleton, Elmar will be pelting this thing with blunt arrows. Woo favored enemy bonus.

Arrow 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Arrow 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Confirm crit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Extra Damage: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (8, 6) + 12 = 26

Well, assuming its flat-footed AC is low enough, that should hit reasonably hard.

DungeonMaster

Ghul If you are good or have a good alinged weapon it helps.

@Kaylor 45 seconds. Nahoce channels powerful energy against it. and no, its Dr does not work for this.

Elmar pumps an arrow into it. you did not crit, and reading up on it, you only did 7 damage, but Nahoce still hurt it

Avelloran still has something he can do before this thing acts.

DungeonMaster

DM stuff:
Random encounters...encounters: 7d100 ⇒ (84, 82, 70, 3, 84, 61, 100) = 484
Dms plan for Avelloran: 1d4 ⇒ 4
who the monster goes after: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Auto piloting Avelloran? Elmar, would you like to be giant sized? You will have -1 attack rolls, but your arrows would deal 1d12 damage. Also when you crit, you only apply weapon damage of 2d8 and you don't add 12, I'm pretty sure. If you don't want be giant sized, Avelloran would cast a acid bolt at this thing, but either way it is still alive.

The creature is trying to locate Silver Bullet, but he has concealment and he attacks him 3 times. each 50 or less misses because of concealment. If success, you rolls attacks. concealment: 3d100 ⇒ (23, 11, 67) = 101
3rd claw: 10 + 1d20 ⇒ 10 + (18) = 28
damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 which brings SB to 0 exactly, he is down, but not out. -1 to be dying
Kaylors turn for round 1
then
Avelloran, Elmar, Nahoce
then
That thing.

Male Dwarf Ranger 19, Lore Warden 2 (HP 279/279 | AC 32 T 22 FF 23 | Fort 27 Ref 28 (Evasion) Will 17 | Init 26 | Percp 42 (46 vs traps in stone) [darkvision, tremorsense 10])

Being large probably isn't that useful, maybe if I ever get one with an adaptable strength bonus and gravity bow.

Meanwhile, favored enemy, strength bonus damage, and weapon enhancement bonus are all multiplied on a critical hit without controversy. The last point of damage, from point-blank shot, is "probably" multiplied, according to my forum searches. Since a longbow is x3, that's where the +12 came from.

Another round of arrows I guess...

Arrow 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Arrow 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
