"Esoboks, dlaczego z nami walczyć, gdy jest martwe ciało tam, aby pożreć?"

Kaylor Traice |

"Kto jest twoim panem? I dlaczego postępować w taki głupi, kto życzymy żyje? Walczyliśmy wiele i nasze ostrza śpiewać z ich krwi, ale nie mamy żadnych kłótni z tobą."
In a hushed tone, Kaylor addresses his comrades, eyes not leaving their enemies.
"The esoboks have been order to destroy us by some master. I'm attempting to find out who that is and convince them that it's in their best interest to eat the ghuls and leave us in peace."

Kaylor Traice |

Well, hopefully the esobok attacking Elmar will retreat now that his master has arrive to tell him otherwise. If not, I'm sure the rest of the group can handle it. On the other hand, there's no way SB will be able to take care of that ghul by himself, and as much as I may want him gone and out of our lives, I should probably do something.
"That's the esobok's master." Kaylor indicates the new guy. "He told them to attack the ghuls since we're not 'in the way of [their] plans.'"
Thinking that the fight likely won't last too long, Kaylor does not strengthen his sword, but instead casts a spell, moving towards the ghul to strike.

I'm going to assume that both are still alive since SB, based on his movement, clearly attacked not the one next to me, and therefore neither one can be dead.

My bad! I missed that for some reason and thought he failed. Go grapple the guy into submission for us then, or I guess you can hold him while Nahoce bludgeons him a bit more.

Regardless if they were alive or not, there is now enough damage dispersed to effectively kill both. I didn't roll this time, I was just trying to think which took damage for the following attacks.
Okay so the man with only a few HP left surrenders. Combat over
He commits suicide to prevent you from knowing anything and his body disintegrates.
Just then Bal asks you to deliver a letter along with some holy objects to the temple of phrasma. Will you do it? She also uses cure light wounds on everyone to bring them back to full HP. if you do, you only use 45 minutes of gameplay round trip and you have a chance for a random encounter.
Panic Level at 16

Elmar Thonsson |

How, exactly, is he killing himself? That may give us some clues as to what he was up to (and apparently it was just that terrifying?
(and, alas, Nahoce won't get Speak with Dead until we hit level 5, but at that point it may be useful to visit this guy, if he's still in the morgue)
Do we know what the panic level represents, why it matters, or what effect we just had on it?
Elmar has nothing against delivering a letter, but there seem to be undead running rampant in the city, so it better be an important letter or else our time is better spent remaining vigilant.

DoubleGold |

Yes it is a very important letter, as Bal stresses. Okay so heroes deliver the letter, I'm going to assume that much.
He kills himself by slitting his own throat with a dagger. didn't know it mattered so much how he killed himself as like millions of methods could be used.
Panic level affects combat chance and eventually prices in town. Keeping the panic level low gives you more exp than a random encounter because of a fight from the panic level.
Guards are now well equipped to fight and Bal rewards you. Panic Level is at 15 Yes it was that important, it lowered panic level by 1
Eventually heroes come to a angry mob and a woman named Sehhosep with a zombie husband that is chained up. They think she is responsible for the undead.
Knowledge local to know her.
Heroes have to kill the zombie husband, but just attacking will cause others to attack. It can be done that way, but a peaceful solution is preferred. Diplomacy and intimdate can be used. As well as sleep spells so you attack the creature when sleeping, as well as any other creative method. Nobody notices the PCs yet.
Map updates, some of those blue squares are building and some are just walls. It isn't 100% accurate, but just to show you that stealth is an option. Roll twice for stealth for 30 speed creatures. Kill the creature in 2 rounds or less and roll stealth twice to get back without notice.
Creatures with 60 speed or higher roll stealth once, for each trip, yeah, like anyone has a speed of 60. Creatures with 20 speed or less roll 3 times for each trip.
Also heroes hear a sound. Roll an arcana check and Make a decision as to what to do about the situation
Edit: also the random encounter chance from earlier random encoutner: 1d100 ⇒ 11 yes there is one, but I'll take care of this afte r this short roleplay.
Edit: You cannot send Silver out for this stealth mission, the deities are preventing him from doing so.

The method of his suicide was important because we were, I believe, planning on tying the guy up and taking his weapons, but I guess he got away for a second?
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
When you say many rounds of stealth, is that only required for meleeing the guy?
Elmar's got the best stealth in the party, and has magical holy water arrows that murder undead and stop existing right after they hit the target, which I'd say would be very easy to use for sniping the zombie from the shadows without anyone knowing.
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 ⇒ 9 (max 10 because untrained)

Elmar Thonsson |

Oh, and to the party,
"If stealth is needed," says Elmar, thoughtfully, "Mayhaps we should put the poor creature out of his misery from the shadows, far away? I c'n fire holy arrows that will disappear right after hittin' the brute, an' if he's a right proper zombie, the only way a priest could return the man to life is after we put him back in the ground."

Don't know what else Avelloran might have up his sleeve." Most of the items Avelloran has. Don't know what spells he has prepared though. I don't have any useful spells.
"Climbing on top of buildings would also be an option."
I do have a plan proposal centering around probably having Nahoçe and Zuberu as distraction/talk to the woman, Avelloran for crowd control if the get out of hand, and then Elmar sniping the creature, either from a roof or from being levitated. And I can do back up invisibility and magic missile if need be. If I remember correctly, bows have at least 100ft range increment if it's a longbow. But this could change depending on if Avelloran has relevant spells prepared right now.

Kaylor Traice |

I wouldn't have bothered to waste any shocking grasps on them though. I would have just stood there and stabbed them dead; they can only hit me on a natural 20 anyway. And then the only damage they'd be able to do would be the disease since they can't overcome my DR and are unlikely to do enough damage to wear the spell out.
