Kyson considers killing Sekathral, the pirate. He almost thinks it's a good idea, but would probably disappoint Linah and Khaz and so Kyson decides against it.

Instead, after moving to get 4 of the 5 baddies in his radius (40'), he speaks a Holy and Totally Unprofane Word. DC 24 Will Save. I think the word is 'antiquing'.

Round 5
Zstelian leaps to the attack, catching sight of the koppru as it breaks out of the mud to attack Kayle, his weapons taking a grievous toll though Kayle's claws seem to not be able to penetrate its hide IIRC, her claws aren't considered magic; also, they are not evil outsiders..

The cries are followed up by Kyson's horrid word, which rips through your foes, though it rings in Sekathral's ears too, making him perhaps rethink his plan to not attack the scribe. Any non-good creatures must save, which I think is just Seka and maybe Kayle among the PCs?

Linah, unaffected by the wonderful word, rushes over and slashes at the creature attacking Khazmia. The half-orc princess tries to escape, but the koppru's tail shakes as she goes to cast and the spell escapes from her as her gestures go wrong. Lost a 1st-level spell use.

Fortunately for her, the creature releases her as it and three others duck deeper into the mud, apparently fleeing from the might of Kyson's conversation. The final one, outside of the range of Kyson's spell, remains with its head above the mud, keeping an eye on you. If you want to just leave, you have time to escape, leaving them behind you (just let me know what way you want to go). If you want to wait until they get back, you've got three more rounds, so please just list your next several rounds' worth of actions and then we can resume the battle more actively.

Linah, the air is steamy and foul with noxious vapor, which is reducing your visibility somewhat.

Linah feels it pointless to fight the Kopprus in their own environment. She would either like to move to 40b and explore there or delve deeper into this cave (towards the NW) and try to suss out what's trying to mind control us. First vote would be 40b though.

We don't explicitly need to kill these things, right? If we've sufficiently scared them off let's just move on.

Zstelian moves after Linah.

"Well, looks like they've ****ed off for the time being. Good bloody riddance"

Sekathral lopes away from the battle, with an occasional suspicious backwards glance

I vote for 40b as well - looks like there's a cave...

Kyson follows along, thinking that 40b looks good.

"Let's go."

You do not have to kill them, though there's always the chance they could come back later. For now, though, let's move on.

You move south, the heat still feeling oppressive and making it hard to even breathe despite your magical protections. Finding what appears to be a terrace, you quickly search it and find a tin coffer hidden near the bring of the structure. Inside are three emeralds worth 1,000 gp each.

Moving on you push forward deeper into the caves, getting away from the pools of mud, though the heat still doesn't relent.

Everyone must make DC 15 Fortitude save or be fatigued from the heat.

Eventually you find yourself at the entrance to what looks like an enormous shrine, its 40-foot-high ceilings supports by eight massive square pillars, which also separate the central part of the hall from two balconies.

Four passages open on each of the balconies, which run 15 feet above floor level on the long sides of the hall, and can be accessed by flights of stairs at the north and south ends.

The main entrance to the hall, across from where you stand, is a monumental arch at the base of a great stairway up on the north wall and is completely obstructed by rubble.

The patron deity of the shrine is represented by a 20-foot-tall statues that stands by the south wall near a smaller entrance. The statue has been damaged by age and moisture, and a large crack has split its face. The statue stands before a platform that extends over a pool full of foul water and floating algae. On the platform is a 4-foot-tall dais of black stone, with a melon-sized black pearl on the top. As the pearl appears to throb with eldritch power, waves of magical ectoplasm seem to reach from the pool to envelop the dais.

Looming ove rthe pearl and dais is a vaguely humanoid beast, with broad shoulders and saurian legs. Its flesh is mottled black and dark green, with a light green and yellow belly. Froglike skin with patches of bristly black hair adorns its shoulders and hips. Its arms are boneless and tentacular, but end in three-fingered hands with large black talons. Its long tail splits into three flukes like the kopru's.

Its two heads, fanged faces somehow simian, run together in one oversized and horrific maw, although in the middle between the two sets of fanged jaws, its gullet is gaping and toothless. A long, tentacle-like, triply-forked tongue writhes from this central gullet.

Map and image of this creature will be up tomorrow. Don't forget your Fort saves, mentioned above.

Kyson stops airwalking as soon as he sees the beast.

Years doing what he shouldn't in the Mwangi Expanse mean Sekathral is relatively unaffected by the heat; the Olman booze probably helps as well.

Moving in, he views the monstrosity squatting on the alter with a sour expression on his face.

"**** me. Looks exactly like the landlord of the 'Merrow and Trident' in Bloodcove. Smells better, though"

You're not sure, but if you had to guess, you would say this is probably some manifestation of the demon lord Demogorgon on this plane. It probably doesn't have access to its full powers -- after all, you're still here looking at it -- but it does have some of the powers of a full demon lord.

Let me know what you'd like to know about it. You can ask for two things.

Rules question: If I use my Divine Bond*, can I use +2 to get the Holy quality and +1 to get the Bane? Would those two damage boosts stack?

Kyson, you suspect you would need cold iron AND good aligned weapons to harm it; anything else will be at a serious disadvantage (DR/15), you think most elements of this world will do little against it too (Resist acid, cold and fire 10, plus immune to electricity).

Linah, yes, I think those two damage boosts would stack from the way I read them.

Human Cleric 7 | hp 36/51 | channel 6/7

Crap, I knew that I should have kept using Thalachos' rise. I can't remember, did I keep that scimitar or did someone else hold on to it?

"Kyson, do you know the nature of this beast?", Linah asks Kyson calmly.

i.e. which type of creature should I bane?

"Uh...it's outside," Kyson stammers, trying to find the right way to describe it. "I think it comes from what is referred to as the 'outer planes', if that makes any sense, Linah."

Kyson, buoyed by his own realization, pulls out a scroll of bless weapon (CL3) and looks for a weapon upon which to apply the magics.

Who wants Bless Weapon?

If Seka has a cold iron weapon give it to him. Zstelian can get his scimitar to +3 enhancement.

While his companions prepare Zstelian calls on his goddess's favor. Divine favor.

Human Cleric 7 | hp 36/51 | channel 6/7

Do you call out the resistances, Kyson? Do I still have the Thalachos' rise? If yes to both questions, I would like to draw Thalacho's Rise, and then use my Divine bond to make it holy and add an additional +1 on hit (curse me for looking at the rules and noticing that the ability can't be used to grant the weapon the bane ability!)
