"Yes, that sounds like a very sword-id affair. We must proceed carefully." Grith waits a beat to see if anyone catches it. "I think we should lower our own rope down, then all climb down. We can leave Hug-Hug here to guard the rope's anchor."

Area 4 is the shaft going down. You're essentially standing outside it, from the perspective of the map.

"good job, Hughug. Let's explore around up here more before we descend towards... Anything. I'd like to know that we have a clear line of retreat, should it come to that. "
wicked_raygun
The party moves on with Hug-hug and Vasayo taking the lead.
2d20 ⇒ (3, 12) = 15
You stop at Area 5.
Vasayo notices something odd with the wall, he thinks it might be a secret door.
That's not a secret door! It's alive! Roll an Intelligence (Arcana) check.

Investigation : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Vasayo takes a closer look at the supposed secret door and tries to find a way to open it. His shining coin might proof helpful.

When Grith says something about a Mimic, Vasayo instictly jumps back a few steps.
Knowledge: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
While he might not instantly know what this thing is, he does know a warning when he hears one and that it is best to listen to your fellow adventurers.
"A Mimic you say? What is it and what can it do?"
Grith
"We can walk past it, as it is dormant. The only question is, what is it guarding?" Grith ponders for a bit. "Perhaps we'd best let it alone while we can. If it wakes, we'll deal with it then. Otherwise, it might at least be left for a later time."
"And as for your question-" he gestures to Miklos Vasayo, "-it's a nasty creature that takes on the shape of something you might like to touch, like a door or a chest. It then does a fine job of eviscerating you on the spot."
Rasp the Rogue
It sounds like you guys would prefer not to disturb the mimic. Move to next area?

Moving past the mimic you take a circuitous route that takes you back into the first tunnel you explored. You move past the main entrance and this time take the southern intersection.
Area 6.
The floor of this 20 foot high cave rises in the middle, creating a 10 foot high rocky shelf. Broken picks and shovels are haphazardly scattered about. You can see some straw and detritus peeking out from the top of the shelf.
Climb the shelf, DC 10 Strength (Athletics)? Make Hug-hug do it? Or would you like to try something else?

"This place could make you dizzy. I'm going to take a moment to sketch a map of where we've been."
Dervel takes a moment to sketch into the back if his prayer book.

"What do you think? How does that look?"
Randal Evenwood
" What's that? A nest? "
Randal approaches the shelf and looks to the others before having a go at the climb.

" It is a nest... I think they're Cockatrice eggs. Should I just? " Randal makes a smashing motion with his mace.
He'll search around the eggs for anything valuable before he smashes the eggs.

Vasayo
"You mean like those things that attacked us?" Vasayo asks. "Then I think we'll have some real big omelettes for lunch. Not really interested in carrying these things with me."
With that Vasayo turns around and keeps watch at the entrance to the room till his companion has climbed back down.

They are the size of chicken eggs.

"Diamonddew and Evenwood; Lifelike Statues and Clerical Services. Great idea, don't you think? You raise the chicks and I'll look after the coins."
The elf has a little chuckle as he completes his map.
Randal Evenwood
" Ha!, very funny. " Randal picks up the eggs and puts theming his belt pouch. He then climbs down carefully.
" Here you go Hug Hug " he says reaching in and producing one egg for the goblin. " Who wants to keep the other two safe? " He asks holding out another two eggs.

these rolls are crazy!

trying not to reveal there were four I'll try to keep one for my greedy self...
Vasayo
Vasayo chuckles hearing Dervel's business proposal.
"Yes, you do that, but I still want my scrambled eggs for dinner," he adds. "Stuff some of the hay into your backpack before putting the eggs in and then let's head to the next room. I still hope to find some bacon to go with the eggs."
You see a broad smile on the thiev's face.
wicked_raygun
"Oh! Thank you, master! And he gobbles it down raw. He then proceeds to hug, Randal."
Continuing Right hand Rule that brings you to Area 9
As you descend you all easily hear the sounds of metal smashing on stone. You stop thirty feet from the entrance.
Grith can make the roll with Advantage.

"I'm a pretty useless scout, since I'm blind without a light source and clearly visible with one. So anyone else want to scout ahead?"

"Sure, it's not like this mine has a reputation to drive people insane and get them killed or anything?" Vasayo says, rolling his eyes. "So if you're sure, just take the lead."
Randal Evenwood
" Well we can't wait around here all day... Give me the light coin Vasayo and I'll creep down and throw it in. Why don't you follow me down stealthily? "
Randal takes the coin and holds it in his fist allowing just a crack of light to shine at his feet he tries to walk silently to the entrance.

"Yeah! I'll go, too!" Hug-hug says excitedly.

This enormous, square room has smooth, brick-lined walls and a 20-foot-high ceiling festooned with thick cobwebs. The floor is littered with tools and mining apparatus. More than a dozen animated dwarf skeletons wander about, pushing wooden mine carts, rolling barrels, and performing other chores under the supervision of a skeletal dwarf standing on a barrel and carrying a diamond-tipped pick. Equally spaced along the southern wall are three identical oaken doors with iron handles and hinges.
Vasayo and Hug-hug are silent as shadows, but unfortunately Randal blunders and unknowingly crushes a skull beneath his foot getting the attention of the skeletal dwarves.
"Finders keeper! Finders keepers!" the Skeletal Dwarf on the barrel yells in rage!

Randal Evenwood
Oh man I already used my channel divinity so I can't try and turn these suckers...
Randal throws the glowing coin in 20 feet and draws his mace.
" It's dwarves... But not a friendly sort! " he calls out to the people that can't see in the room.
