Leira sighs as the leader resists the arrow, but is then cheered up from the dwarven song.
She picks one of the orc bane arrows and shots at the leader.

Round Two

The Orcs mostly did a lot of dying in the Round.

Kaos becomes a bit overconfident after his brutal first strike. He missed his jab against the third Orc.

I left Ulfgard in same square from Round One. If Ulfgard moves upon the dead Orc body to his right, that would be considered difficult terrain, and four Orcs would get an AoO. You may have forgotten that, in my campaigns, dead or unconscious bodies represents difficult terrain.

As Ulfgard sings the Anthem of the Brothers of the Ninth, he bashes the fourth Orc with Agrimmosh. The fourth Orc falls down dead. He then turns on the third and nearly gets a critical crush. But either way, the blow was sufficient to kill the third Orc. Ulfgard then finds himself in the comfortable position of being surrounded by dead Orcs.

Ingrahild continues to fight through the despair and hacks through the leather armor of the fifth Orc. The fifth Orc falls down dead.

Leira sighs that the first arrow did not fell the Orc Leader. She knocks another arrow. This one is an Orc Bane arrow. A Dwarf songs rings in her ear. It gives her a boost of adrenaline. Her arrow sails above the big Orc.

Ouch! You rolled a "1". Leira has Orc luck.

Anga fires two Scorching Rays at the Orc Leader. Both strike the spell casting Orc. This Orc is really tough and survives the firey spell.

With the despair heavy, Ragnir is unable to join in song. He stays focused on the Orc in front of him. He cuts into Orc flesh.

Haskyll stays in tune, but he misses his thrust with his spear.

This is the Orc Leader's last Round of taking damage from the Molten Orb.

The Orc Leader becomes ferocious,

"I will take care of that Dwarf Wizard myself" As he passes another Orc, "Gork , you are in charge. Kill them all."

The big Orc screams aloud and moves out of sight.

The despair on the sixth Orc becomes overwhelming. It swings its Falchion half-heartedly.

The seventy, eight and tenth Orcs pull and launch Javelins at Ulfgard who is temporarily not engaged, as all his surrounding foes are dead. But these Orcs couldn't hit the back side of a barn from inside it.

Round Three

The Orc Leader becomes ferocious and moves out of sight.

Several Orc's effort at going toe-to-toe with our heroes, Ruby's Champions, are futile. These Orcs are the remnant. The more capable Orcs are dead in Trunau.

Kaos steps over a dead Orc and attacks the tenth Orc. Gorum's Thorn cuts deep into Orc flesh. The Orc staggers but does not fall.

Ulfgard step upon a dead Orc and moves up next to the big human. With a thud, the Dwarf Ranger Barbarian hits the eighth Orc.

Ingrahild strikes with both an upward and downward slice. The sixth Orc also staggers.

As an Orc from the upper moat area opens the door to the upper wall, Leira pops it with an arrow.

The seventh Orc becomes staggered by Anga's Force Missile.

Ragnir, fights through the despair, but misses the Orc in front of him.

Another group of Orcs arrive. One is actually unaffected by the despair.

Go to the Upper Level Fort Map.

After taking an arrow, the first Orc from the upper Moat area attacks Leira. A wave of despair flows over the green menace. It stills hacks at the Rogue Arcanist, barely missing the nimble Orc looking creature.

Out of the corners of their eyes, Anga and Leira see an Orc leave a central building, followed by a large Hill Giant wearing a bloody apron and wielding a massive meat cleaver.

In a desperate attempt to defend their position, Leira draws her hopeknife while she keeps hold of her bow in the other hand. "Anga! I can teleport myself, but do you have a mean of joining the others or escape this position?"

She then attempts to finish the first and most damaged orc while making the knife to crackle with arcane magic.

The warpriest roars out a warcry to Torag and swings his waraxe at the orc still left standing.

Round Three Finish

Haskyll steps up and attacks the seventh Orc. He drives his magic spear into the Orc. It slumps over dead.

A little retcon work ahead, and on the map: The seventh Orc did not survive Round Three. As a result, this will change Ragnir's Round Four actions. I try and apply Ragnir's actions in the most favorable way possible.

Round Four

The Orcs continue the futility in their attacks. The melancholy begins to take its affect on the hapless malevolent humanoids.

Even in the darkness of night, Anga and Leira sees a Hill Giant come from the dining hall area of the Fort.

Kaos does indeed get another kill, as the tenth Orc doesn't become ferocious. Instead, it becomes dead.

Ulfgard's first blow with Agrimmosh kills the eighth Orc. He then turns and clobbers the ninth. His shield bash staggers but does not kill the ninth Orc.

Ingrahild finishes off the sixth Orc with an extra slice with her handaxe.

Leira pulls her hopeknife and slashes at the first of the upper moat Orcs. She cuts the Orc.

Six Angas suddenly 1appear on the wall.

Ragnir steps up and completes what Ulfgard started. All ten of the lower moat Orcs lay dead around the party.

Haskyll gives the seventh Orc an extra poke, just to make sure. The Dwarf Cleric then maintains his position behind the lines.

The fifth and sixth upper moat Orcs move around the north side of the tent to attack the Dwarf Warpriest. But a spirit of melancholy drapes them like a shroud over a freshly dead corpse.

The first upper moat Orc takes a step and hacks at Leira. A second one joins the melancholic fun. The first misses the Orc looking Rogue. The second just missed a critical strike.

The eight Upper Moat Orc sees an opportunity to strike the big human as Kaos negotiates the dead Orc. But it seems that these Orcs aren't very good at fighting.

Kaos on the other hand, is very good at fighting. He brings Gorum's Thorn down heavy on the hapless Orc.

As Ulfgard works to get at the Seventh Upper Moat Orc, the Seventh Orc, not feeling particularly melancholy, gets at Ulfgard. It just misses the Dwarf Ranger Barbarian.

The Dwarf Ranger Barbarian doesn't miss the Seventh Upper Moat Orc. Ulfgard pounds the worthless excuse of a humanoid with his special blacksmith's hammer.

Ingrahild has to do a little negotiating as well. The sixth Upper Moat Orc is not in a negotiating mood. It strikes at the female Dwarf Ranger. But its negotiation technique is lacking in its effectiveness.

Ingrahild has a better negotiating technique. She hacks into the sixth Upper Moat Orc with her Dwarven Waraxe. Now that is diplomacy!

Leira barely gets a cut in with her Hopeknife against the first Upper Moat Orc. The first Upper Moat Orc seems to get especially PO'd.

Seeing the first Orc get PO'd, Anga hits the First Upper Moat Orc with a Magic Missile. The first Upper Moat Orc was not PO'd for long, it falls over dead.

Ragnir hacks into the fifth Upper Moat Orc, but was unable to cleave into the sixth one.

Haskyll moves in behind Kaos and nearly sticks the green pig in a critical location. The Dwarf Cleric just missed a vital organ.

Unless Leira is somewhat miraculous with your AoO, you will take 23 points of damage. At least, that doesn't drop you. Yes. The Orc Leader is really tough.

The third Upper Moat Orc attacks the Orc looking Rogue/Arcanist. But the Orc missed.

Round Six

The Orc Leader intent on getting to the Dwarf Wizard, comes up first against Leira. This Orc wields a gleaming Greatsword. The powerful Orc slices deep into the Orc-looking Rogue Arcanist.

The other Orcs continue their clumsy attempts at striking the party. Most simply were unable to make contact with their weapons. One even dropped its Falchion.

A vicious looking Hill Giant appears.

The eighth Orc in front of Kaos is having a bad day. It dies. The big human cusses.

Ulfgard will likely hit and kill the seventh Orc. We will move on as though that happened.

Ingrahild goes all ninja with axes on the sixth Orc. The sixth Orc goes all wild back.

Leira calls back to Anga to leave first.

Anga vanishes. She goes over the wall, and begins to climb down its 15 foot height. About halfway down, Anga slips. She clings to the wall to steady herself.

It is a DC 20 climb check to successfully scale the Fort's wall. A 19 was close, and means Anga did not fall. She is about 8 feet above the ground. She can attempt to climb down with a DC20 climb check. A DC15 or less will mean she falls and takes 1d6 points of damage and is prone. She could jump the rest of the way. That would be a DC15 Acrobatics check. If that fails, she takes the 1d6 and is prone. Four more Rounds of Vanish.

With Anga over the wall, Leira takes a step back and opens a crease in the fabric of time and space. She moves instantly to a spot behind both Ingrahild and Ulfgard. Her left foot squishes on the green Orc blood pooling beneath.

I think Ragnir meant Orcs 5 and 6.

Ragnir with his trusty waraxe slices deep into the fifth Orc. A grimaced expression fills the Orc's face as it stumbles back against the Fort's wall and dies. Ragnir's powerful slice continues on cutting into the sixth Orc. It too dies.

Once again the party is surrounded by a growing heap of dead Orcs.

Haskyll, suddenly seeing a badly injured Leira appear next to him, takes the opportunity to call forth divine healing upon the daring Rogue Arcanist.

The Hill Giant lumbers ever closer to the party.

The thud of something trying to ring the tower bell continues.

Other creatures move about unseen by the party.
