Little armed Nom, The Dinosaur
Meanwhile, behind the adventurers, Nom sniffs the ground, walking around in circles, distracted by the moss and plants on the ground.
Raaaar! the little beast chirped.
Apollo Randasian
On my initiative, I'll do the following:
Spotting six of the Pugwampi's, Apollo sighs once more.
Do I really have to kill you all? Your friend we faced yesterday didn't stand a chance, so you better hope luck's on your side!
Within a flash, the over-confident man charges 15ft forwards, twisting 90 degrees, bringing his weighty hammer down with a brutal ground smash, narrowly missing his target!
Now in G4, attacking the Pugwampi in H5
Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16
Attack 1 (reroll): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
Lucky Pugwampi. Very lucky Pugwampi!
Koritylija
Kori starts in K1
Kori is eager to fight, rushing up the stairs straight at the closest one to her. Her Nine-ring sword ringing out as she grabs it in both hands and swings hard at the nearest creature. Even with the cover of the nearby bench, Kori easily drops the little thing.
Full-round, Charge from K1 to K4, attack J5
Swing 1 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 2 = 26
Unluck 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24
Damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Dmitri Mavis
On my initiative (Poorly rolled, I'll admit.)
Finally seeing something he's completely allowed to kill, he sees Apollo run past him, missing his target with the hammer. Dmitri sees the one closest to him
He eyes it for a moment, grinning, and with a hearty amount of laughter he charges into the group. Now in I3, swinging at I4
Attacking I3 (Charge included): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 Damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
Attacking I3 (Charge included): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 3 = 9 (Winner winner)
As he lands and sees the grimacing creature's eyes grow wide, Dmitri's tongue is practically out of his mouth and his face is wild, eyes, wicked. With all of the strength he potentially posesses he swings the scythe in a wide arc, cleaving the small enemy in twain.
His smile widens as the creature wails out in pain and screams, ever enjoying the lust of battle as always. His scythe, soaked in crimson at the feat, drips slowly on the floor, prepping for another cleave through a being.
He points to the Pugwampi in J9, hand upside down and foreboding.
Koritylija
Just to clarify, damage isn't re-rolled, only D20's. So attacks, skills, saves, etc... but not damage. Also, make sure you note that they have DR 2, so a total of 9 damage or higher on a single hit is required to drop one to -1 or less.
Also, just wanted to say, I think I'm in love with Kori. I've never rolled so many 20's with any character.
Keth Gobersheck
standing in H1, i think
Keth, scythe in hand, quickly scans the room and perks up before a grin appears on his face and he charges forward eager for battle
moves to H4 and swings at H5
Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Attack 2nd roll:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage:2d4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 1 = 5
Keth swings wide barely missing the Pugwampi and grunts quietly, Damn.
Angmar Firefox
Leinathan. As a General rule I'd like to use my seize the initative power on Sabeen assuming she's still playing...
Move to H7. Two handed attack Pugwampi 2(I8) with mighty mighty greataxe 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 damage 1d12 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Edit: Damn lucky Pugwampi...grumble...
Angmar heads into the battle slow and steadily as would a Dwarf. He's aware of the fact that he'll be exposing himself to the Pugwampi's first wave of attacks and thus closes carefully as he makes his way down the stairs. When in position he aims a deft swing of his mighty axe at the feeble creature before him and just as he is bringing down what surely would have been a deadly blow a ray of late sunlight shining through a crack blinds him momentarily and his large axe hacks viciously into the stone floor.
Apollo Randasian
Not sure of the exact positioning of Sabeen, but Angmar, you've used Kori's example map, so you're currently standing in my square, which isn't right, so you'd have to be in front of Apollo, triggering an AoO for moving through the Pugwampi's range, unless you take a detour around me.
leinathan
Round 1 overview
The pugwampis scamper about in a slight panic due to their unexpected "guests". When the intruders charge forward, one by one, and two of the pugwampis are cut down, they snarl in anger.
Taking quick stock of the situation, Sabeen snarls in a flash of outrage, making complex gestures in the air. She casts sleep on the pugwampis in G8 and H7. One of the pugwampis falls to the ground snoring. The one in G8 is unconscious.
Round 2 beginning
The three remaining standing pugwampis snarl. The pugwampis in H7 and J9 draw tiny bows, nock, and fire on Dmitri. In their surprise, they don't draw back far enough, and the shots clatter to the ground before even reaching him.
The pugwampi in front of Keth and Apollo, area H5, draws a dagger and thrusts it at Apollo, but fails to penetrate Apollo's well-forged armor.
pugwampi will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Pugwampi attack(dmitri): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Pugwampi attack(dmitri): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
pugwampi attack(angmar): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Angmar Firefox
Angmar up close and personal with a pugwampi tries to find an opening in the creatures defenses but luck is not on his side this battle and the creature can slip past his cut with surprising ease.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Dmitri Mavis
Dmitri, following through with his foreshadowing, charges the Pugwami in J9 with his scythe dragging across the floor menacingly as he rushes the creature whilst it reloads.
A small spatter of blood has graced his face, making him seem rather uncouth in the situation.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage roll: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2) + 3 = 8
In his moment of bliss, Dmitri loses himself in his swing, completely arcing the blade in a wide swath. The Pugwampi seems to duck a little, barely missing the blade.
This amuses Dmitri, however, as long battles are his primary favorite. After all, they hadn't even had a chance to wound him yet.
Now in I8, and I provoked an AoO, I believe.
Apollo Randasian
Still standing in G4
Hefting his Hammer out of the crater he'd just created, Apollo swings upward with immense strength into the little creatures H5 face, sending him flying high into the air, blood splattering all over his and Keth's face, as the Pugwampi's skull explodes from impact, before marching forwards to the next Pugwampi!
Now in G6
Attack reroll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Koritylija
The I8 on the map I made is the one he's referring to. It would be the one in H5 on Apollo's map, with the dagger he would provoke from.
Kori moves forward into the space beside the sleeping one and the archer, only giving a half-hearted swing at the awake one, as her attention is on Apollo. "Am I to kill the sleeping one for you? Since honor won't let you do it?"
Move to H8, (I11 on my map) no provoke from both bow users.
Attacks H7 (I10)
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 miss
Apollo Randasian
These things don't understand the meaning of honour, and as we're already engaged in combat, if we don't kill them they'll only damage the weaker of us. Though, they're hardly worth bothering with. It's a shame their deaths are so meaningless.
If we're to have fight conversations, how I'll do it is I'll give one response each round.
Apollo Randasian
Okay, so shall I just crop every picture we need for a map and then let Kori put it in Roll20, as I could make everything look incredibly pretty in Photoshop, but that takes time, as does the bog standard paint. If she's updating the map all of the time, we'll just stick to hers, but yea, that all looks right to me. Just waiting on Keth! :)
I was also thinking, should we all set a time when we know we're all on, so we can get chunks done at a time, or would that not be good to you all?
Just realised it's actually your photostream Leinathan, so if you're updating it all of the time on there, I'll leave it to you. :)
Apollo Randasian
Ah ok. Yea, I'm 8 hours ahead of you, but I don't know where everyone else is from. I think one of us was from Germany, so yea ha. I was just thinking it to be an idea was all, as it would mean we could get smaller fights like this done a lot quicker, but no worries. :)
leinathan
Aaaand here's the description of the chapel!
A short set of wide ceremonial steps leads down to a cavernous chapel in which the congregants would gather for sermons in happier times. The vibrant orange and red starburst of Sarenrae still stands behind a film of rusted rainwater and dirt along the north wall overlooking the collapsed altar. Between the stairs and the altar stand dozens of old marble benches, many overturned and even more broken into two or more pieces. A wide walkway bisects the pews, leading directly to the raised altar. Here and there a few clumps of the original red carpet along this thoroughfare
hang on against rot and neglect. Above the center of the chapel, dangling about ten feet from the floor, hangs a cluster of gnoll skulls in various stages of decay. Strung together like a ghoulish candelabra of twine and bone, the boulder-sized ornament hangs from the wooden rafters about twenty feet above the ground.
A thin balcony hangs over the chapel floor some twenty feet above. Two rows of tall-backed wooden choir chairs dominate the southern reach of the balcony, which hugs the chapel’s concave walls. The balcony falls away—collapsed for a span of perhaps fifteen feet—just on the other side of the choir area. To the east, rickety time-worn wooden rafters stretch across the whole chapel. Two huge sections of these rafters have been engulfed in a sort of nest comprised of a patchwork of random bits of cloth.
Apollo Randasian
For the near future reference, is there a way up onto the rafters/balcony, such as a spiral staircase? I don't know if you're using our original Perception rolls for the whole area, but I think I got 22 or something alike.

DMPC-ing Keth and Sabeen, as its been another day.
Initiative:
Pugwampis-25
Kori-17
Keth-11
Apollo-11
Angmar-10
Dmitri-9
Sabeen-9
Keth: Keth raises his hands, creating a small ball of acid in between them, and flings them at the pugwampi in area K12.
Acid Bolt: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 miss!
The bolt isn't even close, hitting the remnants of a pew and melting a small wooden section.
A fourth pugwampi falls, and the others snarl and yell into the rafters. Sabeen pulls a small crossbow from her pack, pre-loaded, and fires it at the pugwampi in area K12.
Crossbow attack!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 miss!
The crossbow bolt flies wide, skittering on the tile floor at the other end of the chapel.
ROUND 3!
At the behest of the pugwampi's screeches, four more show themselves in the rafters above, hefting tiny bows. They fire at Dmitri, Apollo, and Kori.
Attack! (Dmitri): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 miss!
Attack! (Kori): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 miss!
Attack! (Apollo): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 hit! Apollo, take 1 point of damage.
Attack! (Apollo): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 miss!
The pugwampi in Area H11 is asleep.
The pugwampi in area K12 takes a step to area K13 and snarls while making a few gestures in the air.
he casts shatter on Dmitri's scythe.
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 failed!
shatter damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 the scythe is now broken at 4/10 hit points. -2 to attack and damage rolls.
Your move! MAP
Apollo Randasian
What happened to the Pugwampi, myself, Dmitri, Kori and Angmar were flanking HERE? He's vanished and I thought we were still flanking him. :p
Dmitri Mavis
Dmitri's scythe, waving through the air, suddenly becomes brittle and flakes through the air. As he swings it back down, he looks at it as it dances through the air, a mixture of blood and metal dancing against the lights as they fall through the air.
Dmitri's scythe had been one of only 2 things that his godmother, Avalni, had ever given him that he was to cherish. It was a birthright, and a religious symbol to his church. A symbol for reaping those that disagreed. Now it hung defeated, shattered, and worst of all... a holy symbol had been tarnished.
He stopped for just a moment to look at the Pugwampi snarling in the pews and simply walked toward it with tears in his eyes and unfathomable fury.
Everything it was related to would die this day.
He raised the tattered weapon high with a rage only a barbarian could fathom, and swung it down, mercilessly and full of unadulterated fury.
Attack roll: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Attack roll: 1d20 ⇒ 17
damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Alas, he misses, and this doesn't do anything except fuel his fury. This wasn't about sadomasochism, or enjoyment anymore. This was unholy retribution.
I'm in K12
Apollo Randasian
Haha, nope, that was the first one. I ran in, swung, missed it, so brought my hammer up into its face and then moved into where I am now, flanking a Pugwampi with Dmitri in this map HERE
Apollo Randasian
With an arrow just catching the side of Apollo's cheek, the man looks up to see more of the little dog like creatures up in the rafters.
Not bothered by the attempt to harm him, and ignoring the one Pugwampi unconscious on the ground, Apollo focuses his full attention on the one between he and his white haired ally.
Kori, you can take the downed one if that's what you wish, while I'll deal with this!
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
Attack reroll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Apollo smirks at the woman, before ramming his hammer straight into the chest of the creature in front of him I10 with an arching uppercut, catching the pugwampi in the solar plexus, carrying it overhead with full force, only to slam it back down again, through one of the pews behind him.
Dead body is smashed through the pew in G8
Apollo then heads towards the ladder in D9, ready to climb up to the rafters.
leinathan
Koritylija
Kori thinks nothing of attacking the sleeping one. It shouldn't be much more than the drop of the blade, and wham, one less gnoll imp. She gets a decent grip on her blade and puts it under it's chin, pressing down on the handle and back of the blade to snip the thing's head clean off. She doesn't quite get why Apollo and Dmitri are awash with emotion over the fight. The little things haven't even upset her yet.
Coup de grace H11, risking the AoO from the one that Apollo is about to kill in I10.
Auto-crit, Damage 3d8 + 12 ⇒ (1, 2, 7) + 12 = 22
Keth Gobersheck
Keth moves up to J9 and swings at the Pew in I10 and misses
attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
attack reroll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
damage: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 1 = 5
Keth after this seems very frustrated and annoyed at his horrible luck
leinathan
UPDATE map without ANGMAR and SABEEN'S actions. There are four Pugwampis in the rafters above. Once anyone gets up there, I'll post the other map (of the balconies and rafters). It's a move action to climb 1/4 of your speed. Because of the ladder, you won't need to make a climb check.
Angmar Firefox
Angmar is still up close and personal with a pugwampi and the powerful Dwarven warrior will not let it stand at that and thus in an attempt to drop the pugwampi for good he aims another methodically placed axe swing at it's head.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
leinathan
Angmar damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7=5 damage Angmar now in J13
Angmar's axe slices through the pugwampi, which staggers around a bit with its overlarge wound, but it remains standing.
Sabeen, spotting the pugwampis above, quickly reloads her crossbow and takes a shot at one. Unfortunately, her shot flies right past it into the chapel ceiling.
Attack!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Reroll!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 miss!
Beginning of Round 3!
The pugwampi that Angmar slashed moments ago panicks, knowing that its badly wounded, and runs around the pews towards the back of the chapel, and makes it to area O19. No AoO, it's making a full retreat.
Two pugwampis above take aim again with their arrows, while two make a familiar set of gestures in the air.
Attack! (Kori): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 hit! Kori, take 1 point of damage
Attack! (Apollo): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 miss!
Sabeen Fort save (shatter): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 failure!
Shatter damage (Sabeen): 1d6 ⇒ 4 Sabeen's crossbow now broken at 1/5 hit points.
Keth Fort save (shatter): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 success!
Shatter damage (Keth): 1d6 ⇒ 5 Keth's scythe now at 8/10 hit points
One arrow weakly pierces Kori's shoulder, drawing some blood, while the other bounces off of the wall near Apollo with a *clack*.
Sabeen's crossbow buckles and cracks under the weight of the arcane magic, and Keth's scythe begins to shed fragments of metal, although only for a moment.
Koritylija
Not feeling like wasting time trying to climb up to the little bastards, Kori moves to where she's just in range, to throw the javelin she pulls while moving. With a slight grunt, she chucks the thing in their direction, and it looks like a solid throw.
From the middle where she is, and them being 20' up, if she is within 30' for the javelin she shouldn't be in range of their aura (20' right?) Ideally, the closest to Apollo :)
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21, damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
If she does need to reroll, though 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Apollo Randasian
Apollo begins to climb the ladder at the side of the chapel wall.
Double move this and next round to get up. Man, climbing ladders is so slow.
Dmitri Mavis
Dmitri's uncouth fury is not Audible. He is silent, furious, and focused. His unfortunate misses have all been by hairs, and silly mishaps by his enemy. Tears stream down his face as he tries to pierce the creature in front of him with his broken weapon.
Needless to say, anger may make it easier to miss, but he remains cultured in his methods of using the weapon to strike at the creature, arcing it over his body, having the weapon dance across his back as he grabs it with his right hand to bring a wide cleave around, attempting to hit the bastard. The weapon misses, though barely, and Dmitri's disappointment and fury deepen.
To hit Pugwampi: 1d20 ⇒ 2 God Dangit
To hit Pugwampi: 1d20 ⇒ 19 Hnggggg
2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 Atleast the damage roll was good...
The only creatures I hate more than these are pixies.
leinathan
Pugwampis-25
Kori-17
Keth-11
Apollo-11
Angmar-10
Dmitri-9
Sabeen-9
Sabeen, Keth, and Angmar's attacks on the pugwampis all miss, attacks whistling through the air. Keth's acid bolt slams into the ground, sizzling while Angmar's axe strikes sparks where the pugwampi's leg was a moment before and Sabeen's crossbow bolt thuds into the rafter below a pugwampi. With a grunt, Kori's spear takes a pugwampi squarely in the chest, and its eyes widen in surprise at its poor luck.

Pugwampi attack (Kori): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 miss!
Pugwampi attack (Dmitri): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 miss!
The pugwampi taken in the chest by Kori's spear staggers around in the rafters, trying to reach one of the balconies, but its foot slips on a piece of wood and it falls to the chapel floor beside Keth with a splat. The three remaining pugwampis in the rafters attempt to hit the intruders with more tiny arrows, but the small points fail to pierce armor. The pugwampi in front of Dmitri snickers at his rage and swipes at his ankles, but the point goes in between his legs.
Begin round 4 ye guys.
Apollo Randasian
Apollo climbs to the top of the ladder and has a look around.
Perception scores are in the discussion thread. :-)
Dmitri Mavis
Grabbing the haft of his scythe, Dmitri lunges the weapon forward, behind the pugwampi, twisting the blade to reap it on it's return. He pulls back with all of his might, barely missing the pugwampi's neck.
[i]Blood, at this point, has began to trickle from the left bit of his mouth. Not because of internal damage, but merely because he's been biting the inside of his mouth this entire time, and he just recently cut it.[/dice]

leinathan
Apollo, you find yourself in the area reserved for the choir booths. The rotting wooden “booths” are inscribed with religious symbols, but the whole apparatus is in terrible shape and literally crumbles to the touch. When you reach the top, the pugwampis perched on the choir booths and on the rafters that crosscross the room screech at you angrily.
Wooden balconies hang from the wall along the east, west, and northern faces of this ovoid chapel. Wooden beams cross the room between the three balconies, wide enough to accommodate a humanoid creature but damp and creaking. You emerge on the westernmost balcony.
On the easternmost balcony is a room of sorts, knit together like a nest composed of interwoven tapestries, sackcloths, sheets, blankets, and other bits of loose cloth. Similar material has been used to create “walls” along the north and west sides of this habitat, as well as along the rafters in the area, and the room extends away from the balcony with cloth flooring over thin air. More pugwampi chattering issues from this "chamber".
By the northernmost balcony is a broken window that spans the entire wall. From here, you can see the village of Kelmerane over rugged hilltops.
leinathan
To move around on the western balcony or on the rafters has a 75% chance of breaking them, causing you to fall through to the chapel floor below (2d6 falling damage). You may attempt a DC 15 Reflex save to leap to a nearby other surface, but if you leap to fragile wood it has a chance to break also. The balconies are 40 feet apart. The Reflex save is subject to unluck.
Also, any attempt to step on the cloth flooring of the lair means you automatically fall through.

As Apollo reaches the top, he looks around quickly, taking note of the poor conditions that surround him.
Stay down there everyone! The floor up here doesn't look as though it can take much weight! says the man, as he shouts to those he travels with.
Koritylija
So, to clarify, the really light brown is open and those of us on the floor can see the pug's at D5, D11, and the one in the middle of the rafters (H9)?
Kori wonders why the others are taking so long with the one little gnoll imp. She would like to just get rid of the thing, but Pain-lover seems obsessed over his revenge, and she'd rather not get around that blade with him all seeing red. She knows what it's like to be so enraged at an enemy that you don't think straight.
Instead, she decides that with Lizard-friend's big, heavy, human weight above warning that it doesn't look to hold much, she'll try to bring more of those little buggers down. She draws another javelin, hurling it at the next closest imp, moving wherever she needs to get a clear shot. Sadly, her shot is so far off, one of the little imps would have to be unlucky enough to move into it to take the hit.
Move, if needed, draw while moving. Or draw as a move w/o moving.
Attack 1 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Attack 2 (if within aura) 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Keth Gobersheck
Keth twirls his scythe around waiting for more action. Due to his disappointment of the previous encounter Keth seems frustrated with Apollo telling them to stay back and slightly pouts.
