The lizardlike tiefling, concerned for Koriylija's injuries, approaches behind her and attempts to heal her. Coating his hand in soft, white, positive energy, he reaches for her. Just before he touches her back, however, his hand is rebuffed by a crackling line of black-blue energy, and the positive energy spell is cancelled by the drow's innate resistance to magic.
The gnoll that Undrella incapacitated lays on the ground, gasping and pawing at his chest for a few moments before he begins to try to crawl away. The other gnoll, still in melee with Undrella, attempts to lay into her with its battleaxe while the third gnoll takes another shot at Dmitri.

Wary of hitting his master, the gnoll archer isn't quite as precise as he could be and fires just past Dmitri's shoulder. The other gnoll is luckier, however, and despite Undrella's attempts to dodge he manages to slice her with his axe, although not quite as strongly as he could have.

Once again equipped with his weapons, Apollo races up the stairs and past brek, drawing his bow as he reaches the top of the stairwell, only to see Dmitri, Kardswann and Angmar engaged in battle, with one Gnoll in sight across the adjacent balcony, currently engaged with Undrella.
More Gnoll's. Glad to see my abilities being put to good use! Once I've dealt with them, everyone else should have an easier time against that Genie, but maaaaaannnn, that Axe looks nice.

Angmar, fearless in the face of imminent death at the hands of a gigantic axe, whacks its wielder across the cheeks with his magical mace, bruising and angering the jann warrior.
Roaring with rage and power, he raises his massive axe and swings it twice, once in a forehand strike that slices through Angmar's armor like a hot knife through flesh, and the other a backhand strike that catches Dmitri in his side, drawing blood and sinking deep into his side.
You have a choice, now. You may make a special Diplomacy check to admonish him or you may continue attacking.

As the weapon rips through Angmar and finds its way into Dmitri, he is somewhat surprised at first, but then finds himself strangely happy, despite his fury. Holding onto his scythe still, and the axe still embedded in his side, Dmitri catches Kardswann's arm for just a moment, though he hardly holds the man.
Grabbing the man's arm as his axe sinks into his side, threatening to split him in half, he smiles rather wide. A streak of blood spurts from his side, and he feels certain that the axe blow found its way to bone within his ribs... With the red haze where it was, Dmitri brow furrowed and a small trickle of blood permeated from his mouth. With a smile, he looked Kardswann in the eye, raising his scythe before looking at it. "Such a damnable weapon... Though it holds worthiness to Lilith herself, it is corrupted by some petty existence knows as Varidshal! That said, he is just as fed up with your insubordination as I am it seems!"
With that, he buries his hand in the Templar's arm, before continuing. "I don't know what this "Templar grace" is that you fell so far from, but I have every intent to see to it that you fall farther your foolish cur!" he says, hoisting the weapon high into the air.

Kori once again flails out at the two bugbears, wildly swinging both limbs, hoping to connect with them both. She still hasn't quite gotten the hang of the style, but she swears she will. As she stabs the one she lets out the closest any of the group has heard to a laugh from her, a loud HA! of triumph. She turns to the new guy trying to cast spells on her, "What are you trying at Snake-eyes? I thought we weren't gonna have problems with you."

His options were obvious. Kardswarn, dwarf with flaming red beard or white hair bleeding his life out man. Decisions, Decisions and more decisions.
I choose Axe.
Brek grins and waves merrily to Kardswan as he incorprates his casting in to that wave, weaving his words into the spell, moving just close enough to target the one thing he knew would change the blance of that fight. His greataxe.
"Hey Kardy. Love your look. Hows the axe? Slippery whippery greasy isn't it? Aww that look on your face looks so adorable. Ate something that didn't agree with you?
Spell Level (1)+ (10)+ Cha Mod (5) +Racial trait, Fire Affinity (+1)
A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.
The spell can also be used to create a greasy coating on an item. Material objects not in use are always affected by this spell, while an object wielded or employed by a creature requires its bearer to make a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect. If the initial saving throw fails, the creature immediately drops the item. A saving throw must be made in each round that the creature attempts to pick up or use the greased item. A creature wearing greased armor or clothing gains a +10 circumstance bonus on Escape Artist checks and combat maneuver checks made to escape a grapple, and to their CMD to avoid being grappled.

Brek, dashing up onto the second floor behind the others, decides to coat Kardswann's axe with a viscous black fluid. He isn't able to jerk the weapon away from the path of the spell in time, and it slips from his grasp, clattering on the floor with a clink.
At Dmitri's words, instead of rage at the loss of his weapon, Kardswann's face transitions into a look of shock and surprise. Staggering back up the stairs a few steps, he takes a look at himself, raising his empty hands to look at them. Then he begins to shudder, his whole body quaking with tension. He furrows his brow. "No...Xulthos is too strong...please help me. Bind me or cut me...within an inch of death...and then destroy Xulthos, underneath the ruined church...please, now!"
Below, Kori's melee with the bugbears continues as she rips her blade through the injured bugbear to her right, sending the big goblinoid crying with pain to the ground. Her fist, however, fails to connect with the other one. Still, though, two down, only one to go. The drow barbarian lets out a cry of triumph.
Nearly triumphant, Undrella takes another pair of swipes at the gnoll warrior in front of her, scraping him with her morningstar for fairly minimal harm.
Below, the last bugbear seeks revenge for his fallen brothers and tries to strike at Kori again, but the agile and powerful drow evades his blow easily.

So much for using cover. Still, aside from the Gnoll in combat with Dmitri's squeeze over there, the archer's gonna cause the biggest issue. If she can hang in there I'll see about dropping the number of enemies by one...

Angmar steps forward to re-engage the struggling janni warrior, but he stumbles on the steps made for humans, not bringing his foot up enough. The trip makes his attack off-balance and he misses the jann entirely.

On the same floor as him, Apollo maneuvers across the now-bloody floor, snapping off an arrow at the bow-wielding gnoll. He catches the gnoll in the throat, sending it choking to the ground.

The sudden change in the air, what with Kardswann changing, bothered Dmitri. His sudden bit of clarity dulled his strike as he realized what had happened. It came together quickly for him... The scythe caught air as the giant gash in his side spritzed out a bit of blood. The feeling was intoxicating and his eyes got foggy with joy! The insane part of him wanted to stay and relish the events, but the resolute part still wished him dead.
He had to end this before the others realized he was fighting against his will... he had done far too much to be forgiven by Lilith, and it was foolish of him to be so weak willed in the first place!

Dmitri looked at the man as he fell to his knees, grabbing the wound on his hip. The smell of blood filled his nose, and he had been bleeding rather heavily from his hip and mouth. The streams had come from both sides from just that singular wound. Kardswann had damaged him rather well, and looking at the fallen Jann, in his last moments, profuse good acts, he looked down at his scythe.
He had felt the good within this weapon. This scythe was sad to see him fall... and he truly had not fallen, had he? He was unfortunate, and had been dominated, and had enacted something, this "Xulthos'" will... Spitting a string of blood aside, Dmitri asked himself a simple question. Was this man he fought truly evil? He had done things against his will, and seemed to despise himself for his own weakness. Admirable qualities, yes, but he wasn't looking for loop holes...
He was looking for Vulnerability.
Quickly, Dmitri reached down on his side, squeezing, and dragging his palm along the tip of his blade, a wicked glint in his eyes. Good... He prayed to his mistress that even a flicker of good escaped from this foolish man's transgressions, and took delight in killing him as he no doubt wished them to, yes? Yes? "YESS"
The scythe, for the first time, cloaked itself in a dark, crimson color, which embraced over his shoulders. The image shrouded about himself, and long, taloned hands appeared over his chest, seeming to grab his weapon along with him and embrace him as he channeled the will of his patron.
As he swung, he felt the tethers of the spell somewhat give, and even he wasn't sure if it would go through, but now, more than ever, Dmitri wanted kardswann dead. In his most redeemable hour, where others would try to save him, he wanted to behead the fool for his transgressions against Undrella, here and now, in his red bliss.

Shuddering at Undrella's response, the man distractedly replies to the Harpy as he looks onward to the battle taking place between Dmitri, Kardswann and Angmar.
I'm.....glad.
Why is Kardswann holding back his attacks?
With his sights set before him, Apollo doesn't give Dmitri's new lover his full attention, but excuses himself as he makes way towards Dmitri.
Apologies, but I wish to have word with Dmitri. You should be fine now that we've dealt with those worthless dogs.
With that, Apollo makes his way towards Dmitri, stopping within 10 feet of the white haired man, keeping enough distance from Kardswann to prevent the need for further conflict in an attempt to make sense of what's going on around him.
Dmitri! Back there, Kardswann stopped attacking for a brief moment. What did he have to say and why did you and Angmar continue to attack? If he knows something, it would be in our best interest to keep him alive!
Apollo didn't shout at the Anti-Paladin, but spoke with enough conviction to make his point heard.
Brek of Unknown House
"I must concur. He has information that I need. Beat him up yes. Leave him alive doubly so. He also mentioned something about a fiend and temple at the lower depths"
Brek calls out seeing that Kardswann wouldn't survive the two combatants he now knows as Dimitri and Angmar, only adding the last part seeing in newcomer a possible ally though splattered with blood, that could be debatable.
Staying back and moving towards the greataxe, looking for the best chance to take it and thus deprive Kardswann of this weapon would be for the best.

As Kori makes her way up the stairs she hears Lizard-friend and some other person trying to stay Pain-lover's hand. Now she will have to consider whether she wants to kill or capture.
Koritylija
Kori comes to a decision as soon as she sees the big guy. She knows what she wants to do, what she wanted since they first spotted him. She pumps her legs faster as she rushes straight for the big man, and as soon as she gets close, she dives into him. She wraps her legs and free hand up around the guy, holding him as tight as she can to restrict his movements. The glow from her Faerie Fire on him diffused only where it is blocked by her limbs.
Charging grapple (with Improved)
Grapple attempt 1d20 + 11 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 11 + 2 - 4 = 25 CMD to escape is 24
6th round of Rage
EDIT - Correction: I thought he was still prone, so I risked the -4 for holding my sword. Now that he's standing, she will drop the sword on the way. Disregard the -4.

Pfah! Angmar sputters but holds back his strike as his companions apparently prefer talking to fighting. Quite the waste of time.
Angmar readies an attack should Kardaswan attempt to attack anyone.
Brek of Unknown House
Sigh "Hey Kardy, you're just too attractive aren't ya? First this Dimitri, then an Angmar and now this rather pretty woman just throws herself at you? What's your secret? Come on tell me more."
Brek moves further away after all, blood on his already red robes might just discolor it. They all look dangerous frankly..........
Dmitri Mavis
Completely ignoring the newcomer, Dmitri's blood spurted from his side where the axe had taken refuge. Part of Dmitri wanted Kardswann to hit him again, but he was more than just a little upset. Here he was, groveling against all of them... In the dirt... as he should be... and now, even now, he could feel the tendrils of goodness in the air. He could hear Kori as she thundered toward them. She doesn't know, and she likely doesn't care... Good. and with that, and the evil visage of Lilith grasping tightly on his swordarm, urging him forward, he swung once more, going for the neck.
This assumes my smite evil is still working on him. If not remove the 3's.

While Apollo and Brek circle around Dmitri, attempting to convince him to lay off his attack, Dmitri swings again at Kardswann. His profane power amplifies his attack and he cuts deeply into the janni.
Dashing up from the lower level, Kori drops her sword on the ground and tackles Kardswann, wrapping her limbs around him like a monkey in an attempt to restrict his movements.
Undrella walks around the middle level in an attempt to see Kardswann laid low, giggling as she does so.
Initiative:
Angmar - 18
Kardswann - 14
Apollo - 12
Brek - 11
Dmitri - 8
Kori - 5
Undrella - 4
Je'Grik - 3
Kardswann at 6/70.

With the man surrounded on all sides by enemies, restrained by Kori, and unarmed, Kardswann is an easy target for Je'Grik. The tiefling runs to the fore of the battle, swinging his bastard sword with wild abandon, cutting deeply into the janni's belly. Kardswann groans, his eyes wide, and falls to the ground.
Undrella laughs at the janni laid low, walks up to Dmitri, and clasps his shoulder as the profane energy begins to ebb on the man. "Good job. I always did like it when Kardswann...went down." She smiles and licks her teeth.
Below, on the Battle Market floor, there is a fairly obvious feeling of the battle ending. The smugglers and the goblin emerge from their holes and look curiously up to the second floor.
Good job, you guys :D You're very close to the end of the chapter and level 5.
Apollo Randasian
But she likes it more when Dmitri goes down.... ;)
Angmar Firefox
Angmar looks around. Seeing all foes down he mentally pats his shoulder and observes that his companions are obviously quite competent as well. He then looks to Brek, wondering if he has seen the man before somewhere.
You said you wants to question the scum? I can brings him back if ye wants!
Angmar also has the finding Haleen trait so we might actually know each other...

Oh, by the way...Just to speed up things a tad, and please discuss distribution OOC:
The bar contains many, many bottles of s&~!ty beer and a cowering gnoll bartender.
A guard chamber on the lowest floor contains a veritable stash of loot:
a ring of protection +2.
a cloak of resistance +1.
a suit of masterwork chainmail.
a +1 dagger.
a wand of bull's strength with 8 charges.
an amulet of natural armor +1.
4 applications of silversheen.
a headband of alluring charisma +2.
a suit of +1 banded mail.
a cold masterwork cold iron mace.
and slippers of spider climbing.
The complex of pipes and tubes on the second floor that Undrella was watching over contains a number of potions:
mage armor, magic fang, blur, cat's grace, invisibility, spider climb, and haste.
Urguk, the gnoll sub-chieftain, carried some nice gear:
A masterwork flindbar (see nunchaku).
a potion of cure moderate wounds.
a potion of expeditious retreat.
masterwork breastplate.
Kardswann had some especially nice gear:
a +1 evil outsider bane greataxe engraved "Whirlwind".
a suit of +1 spiked breastplate.
two potions of cure moderate wounds.
Within Kardswann's room are four garnets worth 400gp each and 3,459gp in assorted coinage.
I'm assuming you don't want gnoll gear, but each gnoll carries a battleaxe, a longbow, ten arrows, and a light wooden shield.
Brek of Unknown House
Brek looks at the beaten Kardswann.
"He mentioned an evil temple and an evil fiend in the mix, also I'm looking for my mentor, Haleen. I believe her to be somewhere here and would appreciate any help in finding her."
Looking at the loot.
"With my meagre talents, I would be more than happy to help identify most of these items should they prove magical.
Let me introduce my self, master dwarf. I am Brek, a small time arcane dabber and purveyor of locks."
Angmar Firefox
The Dwarves features light up at the mention of Haleen.
Ye thinks Halleen is here? He inquires of the man rudely ignoring his introduction.
Koritylija
Kori heaves a sigh of, what could possibly be pleasure, as she lets the anger slip from her body. She relaxes her grip on the now dead man. As she gets to her feet, she takes a few heaving breaths, before finding something to lean against as she comes down from all the fervor of battle. Looking down, she admires the big guy's choice of apparel, "I like his armor. I want it. It's spiky like mine, but better."
Brek of Unknown House
His eyes light up as the dwarf mentions his savior's name.
"You know Haleen? She's being kept captive here...somewhere that is. I tracked her here and tried to free her but got captured myself before managing to do anything about it. You must be able to aid me then."
Brek as he speaks, waggles his fingers and then holds it open before him.

As the battle drew to a close, and the red haze in the corners of his eyes began to ebb, Dmitri could feel a sudden pounding in his heart... More so, he felt a pounding in his eye. That same, strange pain that seemed to ignore his built up endurance and was like a whip from his deity herself...
He watched as Kori let go of the man and walked off, exhausted. The world went a little dark, and he felt the touch of Undrella on his arm, and she invaded his sense. She had had terrible things done to her, for sure... and he would not let that go unpunished. His laws were entirely against it. Kardswann had to die, and he would do so... he would.
Taking a step back, the channeling of his deity began to wander off, and her favor left, but he still felt that desire to see such a poor, helpless bastard's head roll. Every gnoll that served him may have done so out of fear. Every person here succumbed to his strength, and he had succum to whatever fiend devastated his poor, fickle mind, and that was none of his concern. None.
Gripping the scythe, he walked slowly up to the defeated Janni, his side aching, and his wounds still quite open. The blood trickled down his leg, and his blade was still fresh and crimson as it should have been. Today had been a wondrous one, full of pain and blood-shed. He played the scene out in his head as he walked forward, the sight of Kori dancing as she crushed bones, the sound of Apollo crushing the skulls of the dogs... and now, a new sound. A sound of immaculate retribution, and just vengeance. The will of Lilith being done with impunity
Despite the suggestions of his allies, of the newcomers, Dmitri cared little for their plights. He had set out from that tiny house, that church, for Undrella's quest alone. He had made a promise to her, and he would keep it. With all the strength he could muster, he swung his scythe overhead, bringing it down at the base of Kardswann's neck.
The only thing that filled the air after that was a jet of blood, the quietness of Tempest itself, and the sound of Kardswann's head rolling off the balcony
Turning to look at Undrella, he said, without smiling. "It is done..."
