Neve Aurora |
I don't think so Neve says calming down a little bit That writing says these alimes are used to tranquilize and mind control people. Maybe if we get someone in here and break the cases those things will attack that person but... Neve shakes her head That's terrible and if they control the slimes somehow then it won't work. I'd rather destroy these things when we get the chance. They're just not right.
Aurexil |
Aurexil growls, baring her teeth. "No, it's not," she agrees, "But unless you know of a way to get rid of them without letting them out, I say we get out alive first and then see about destroying these things later."
Fraejia |
Realizing what the things would do Fraejia nodded in fierce agreement. The air seemed to chill around her as her face twisted in hatred looking at the things and said, "Yes, they need to be destroyed now." Her voice had become almost multi-tonal as she had spoken and it was obvious how deeply her hatred of such things ran.

The next (and last) room on this level is as follows:
This room has a light source in the form of a metal plate in the ceiling which glows with enough light to see clearly. Several glass cages stand on the floor, all of the smashed partially open. The remains of plants, rocks, and feeding dishes clutter the bottom of the cages, suggesting that they once housed living specimens. A long table lines the southern wall from the eastern corner. A large door centered in the eastern wall provides the only entry or exit to the room. The table has several small glass jars with insects (presumably food for the previous inhabitants of the cages) on one end, with a silver-tinted trident resting on the other half of the table closer to the door.
Artirian |
Artirian stretches out his magical senses to see if the Trident is magical.
Detect magic, take 10 for 19 spellcraft
Fraejia |
Freajia nodded in agreement, "Yes, let's finish exploring this place so we can find a way out."
Legend-wait-for-it-dary GM |
Climbing up another 20', you reach the top of the elevator shaft, and, perhaps, the top floor. Opening the doors, you see a variety of passages.
Directly ahead, to the east, a passage leads to a door some 25' away with narrow passages leading north and south just before the door.
To the north, another door also about 25' away, with wider passages leading east and west before it.
To the west- you'd have to go around the elevator shaft to see what's there.
To the south, a longer hall with both narrow and wide passages leading east and west from the corridor.
Here, just outside the door, the Tauslek Matriarch clings to the ceiling. "The children... gone." it says angrily.
Neve Aurora |
Yeah, they were going to do the same thing to us Neve says It'd be great if you could help us, like, fight those things, instead of whatever you're doing right now
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Neve Aurora |
Ah.
And we did see two of your kids back there. If you want to keep 'em safe then we need to take out whatever's been experimenting on all of us!
Aurexil |
"Oh, right. Back in that room with the see-through floor," Aurexil says, still eying the creature warily. What if it got its kids then decided they needed to be fed live prey?
Still, she stepped out of the way, not wanting to fight if they didn't have to.
Fraejia |
Fraejia nodded in agreement and said, "I have no problem with this." She stepped aside so that the creature could pass them.
Aurexil |
Aurexil would have been happier *without* such terrifying and probably evil allies, but...
"Right. Now we just need to find them," she says aloud.
Fraejia |
With the return of the Matriarch Fraejia was relieved to see that the creature had decided to ally with them. They could use her assistance and things were starting to look a lot better for their chances of getting out of this place. She looked to the creature and wondered if she knew how to find their captors or at least how to get out of here.
Artirian |
"I'd rather not stay here one moment more then I can help but it seems we don't have much choice about it." Artirian answers
Aurexil |
Aurexil can't quite surpress a shudder at the idea of how the creature might have absorbed knowledge, but she still follows.

As the Tauslek Matriarch rounds the corner, several Klaven Guards who were readied fire their weapons.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 for 1d6 ⇒ 6
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 for 1d6 ⇒ 2 confirm 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 for extra 1d6 ⇒ 4

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 for 1d6 ⇒ 5

The Matriarch screeches in pain as she is hit several times, charging forward to bite one of the Klavens.
1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 = 15 for 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 plus poison and grab 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Her bite nearly cleaves the Klaven in two and she shakes its unconscious body in her mandibles.
Initiative:
Matriarch
PCs
Klaven
Matriarch's 2nd turn plus Tauslek babies and Bahgra and Andretta
You're up
Aurexil |
Aurexil is tempted to let the Matriarch and the Klaven fight and hope they kill each other... but in spite of her suspicions of the monstrous-looking creature, it would be neither honorable nor just to let her die after agreeing to work together.
And so the wyvaran charges in behind her, running up to polearm reach of one of the klaven and swinging at it with a broad arc of her glaive.
Glave: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Artirian |
Artirian moves up to the Matriach and taps her with his infernal healing wand, feeling unease as he taps upon its devilish magic. 'You do what you must when the devil drives,' He thinks to himself, rather ironically.
Neve Aurora |
Neve moves in and shoots the closest Klaven.
Zero: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Can't move on phone for some reason, she'll move into the room enough to get a shot off at a Klaven. She's got precise shot now
Fraejia |
Sorry for the delay, lost track of my need to post for combat.
Fraejia followed the Matriarch as she led them to where their captors were. She saw the creature charge the klaven around the corner and saw them open up on her with their weapons. Fraejia didn't like that, she liked even less that they had dared to attack and imprison one of her kind, their trespass called for an immediate and thorough destruction of these creatures. She rushed forward and got in front of the nearest of the Matriarch's children and then sent a blast of sheer cold at the klaven that was focusing far too much on the insectile queen. And gave a frightening sounding scream of rage when the blast missed horribly freezing the wall behind it.
I move to the square below the right most "child". I can't move myself for some reason.
coldblast w/pbs: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 92d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2, 6) + 1 + 1 = 10

Sorry, I haven't figured out how to move tokens from one map to another, so those were new tokens not set for player control. You should be able to move them now.
The Matriarch bites again
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 for 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 plus poison and grab 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Then the children move forward to join her
bite 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 plus poison
bite 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 miss
Andretta steps up and attempts to put a couple of the Klaven to sleep. Will 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12;Will 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21;Will 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Two fall asleep
Then the Tauslek Matriarch clenches her mandibles around the one she has grappled 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14 but it slips out of her mouth.
That Klaven drops his gun and attacks the matriarch with its claws
claw 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 miss
claw 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 miss
The other standing one does the same with the nearby baby
claw 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
claw 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
and the baby monster screeches and shudders, falling to the ground. The Matriarch screams angrily.
You're up. Ones marked with "S" are sleeping.
Fraejia |
Fraejia saw the baby creature get rent apart by the klaven and yelled out, "Call your child back, we will help protect it!" She moved over towards the far side for a clear shot at the klaven there who killed the baby creature and gave a warbling scream of rage as she sent forth a blast of cold at the creature, she wanted it dead and now!
cold blast w/ pbs: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 = 242d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6, 4) + 1 + 1 = 12
Aurexil |
Not wanting to accidentally strike one of her allies, Aurexil moves aside to a klaven she has a clear shot at and swings again.
Glaive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Eidolon - Jaxel |
Jaxel continues to bite and claw at the one the Taulsek baby is engaging.

claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Neve Aurora |
The room is too crowded for Neve to use her more mysterious abilities. She contents herself with firing again at the closest enemy.
Zero on touch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
