"Unfortunately...that would be far better than the truth." He pauses to point out some of the more damning indicators of the draconic attack. "If you see here, it's clear these are claws from something massive, much larger than anything I have dealt with before...of which the largest is the owlbear at the Stag Lord's fort. And here..." he waves, "Is where you can find that this huge monster was not alone. So we aren't dealing with one dragon...there is a brood. This might be a lot worse than originally thought."
Gorgoron
My apologies at not making more of an introduction of myself once we joined the main group; Christmas busyness. I'll a brief intro, and try to RP his integration into the group a bit more going forward.
He is dressed formally, in dark red robes of fine make, but suitable for travelling. Arcane symbols are tattooed all over his visible skin, tracing out long lines of script along his forearms and hands. The image of a bird, a Red Thrush to those knowledgeable of such things, can be seen upon the side of his neck.
Upon meeting the folk of the encampment, he bows deeply and meets the gaze of each of the companions. There is something humble in his bearing, even though his manner is rather formal, there is no arrogance in it.
"Greetings to you, champions of the Stolen lands. You may call me Gorgoron. I have had the pleasure of meeting Thomas here in these past days, and he has invited me to meet with you. I understand that there have been troubles here of late, and I hope that my modest skills might be of service to you in serving the settlers and peoples of these lands."
Over the course of the evening, Gorgoron takes whatever chance might present to meet and get to know the companions, taking time to learn their face, their names, and their trades, if they are willing to share them. He describes himself as one of magic blood; one who has had to learn to channel and temper the forces that live within himself. He states that he is both a Sorcerer, and summoner of the champions of good from other realms. Unseen in the background before, Gorgonon's valet moves to serve him, a creature he calls Fidelus, who while mostly human in size and shape, cannot really be conclusively identified as a member of any one race. He makes himself unobtrusive, fetching things for his master; food and water, and setting up his tent when the time comes. At one point, the enigmatic mage rubs at the tattoo on his neck. As he does, the tattoo disappears, and instead a living breathing thrush sits upon his fingers. He whistles to it, and it sings back. Gorgoron feeds it from his hand, before allowing it to fly off into the night for a time. It returns some hours later, and Gorgoron places it upon his shoulder where it nuzzles down into the hood of his robes as though the folds were his nest.

The Present:
Kn:Arcane: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Looking aside towards the strange gnome while addressing the others, Gorgoron says, "While such giant woodland creatures might be reason enough to give us pause, I think these quills might signify the presence of something even more sinister. There are forms of dragons that bear such things, and if a brood is at hand, it might be a collection of some such as these."
He looks about at the gathered companions, "Though I do not doubt the bravery of any gathered here, are we sure that such a threat is within our capacity to challenge, with the resources assembled here? A single dragon of this size would be a formidable opponent; one not to be taken lightly. But if there is even more beyond that of the chiefest creature, a brood of young, do you believe that such a gathering could be laid low by we few? Such a task should give us pause."
That is to say, a Huge dragon is well above the pay grade of any number of 3rd level characters, even gestalt ones.
Am I aware of any type of evil dragon, or dragon-like creature with fire breath and quills?
Arvangail Wintry
As far as we are concerned it is either the dragon or us. We will fight it no matter what. And if it is a brood we will try to kill each of them if possible. his voice is plain and leveled as if staying just a simple fact.
Now can we track what caused this destruction ?

Krazok Vell Firesource
***Previous Night***
"Greetings I am Krazok Vell Firesource, dragonkin and heir of the Firesource clan. I am known as the master of weapons in my clan, any weapon I pick up I can use to severe potency. Teacher to my friend Torq and friend to all, save bandits and corrupt ones."
Selena the Elfen Feline
***Previous Night***
Selena introduces herself, but seems to leave much more hidden. "I am Selena an exile from my people for a life that I do not remember, I can slink among the shadows better than most and use my weapons to deadly force."
Krazok Vell Firesource
Present
Krazok starts to mutter to himself in draconic, his eyes begin to glow golden. He holds his claw out to take the quill.
Fizzwiddle Glockenfleffor XXII
Fizzy and the fuzz each present Selena with large heart shaped cookies
Fizzy speaks to her VERY quietly
Then fizzy goes to look for burrowing animals that might have seen what happened
Take 20 on whatever check needd
Selena the Elfen Feline
Selena speaking in a quiet voice and strange words to Fizzy, then she smiles and gives Fizzy a big hug and rubs/scratches the Fuzz. She then takes the cookies and eats them.
"I think you are running a little low on sugar." Still smiling.
Krazok Vell Firesource
Krazok finishes his spell then looks around, "Weird instruction, I would expect North or South, not wait... Wait, oh crap!!! Take cover!"
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Surprise round - he moves to his Axebeak.
Perception checks everyone!
GM Wolf
Only act in the surprise round if told so.
Tomas Aldori
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Tomas sees the shapes on the horizon and based off what his companions are doing Would we get a bonus to perception based off of the other reactions he begins his defensive routines as soon as he is capable, drawing his blade.
Cast Mage Armor as soon as capable
Selena the Elfen Feline
Selena's eyes get big, she runs to the side of the farmhouse. Taking cover with what is left of a wall.
Gorgoron
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Missed it by 1.
Gorgoron turns and sees the approaching figures.
"Warning; the quills came from wyverns. If that is what now approaches, their tails transmit venom."
Tomas Aldori
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Seeing the danger before him, he follows up with another spell. Cast Shield
GM Wolf
Round 1
The elves take cover drawing their bows.
Krazok stays out with the horses readying a javelin.
Round 2
23 Torq, hidden??? Behind a barrel?
16 Tomas
15 wyverns
13 Gorgoron
9 Krazok
8 Arvangail
6 Fizzy
5 elves
The wyverns look like they are interested in you but keep circling above you by at least 50 feet. They saw some of you but you don't think they saw all of you.
Who is hiding by who? You have four places that can only hide 4 people each. The east side of the wall(inside the house),
the west side of the wall,
debris around (burnt barrels and such),
or the bloody pig pen?
Tomas Aldori
Not sure if my casting of mage armor went in surprise or not, I missed the DC to act by 1, but if there were any bonuses from others' reactions, then I made it. If not, then this is the round I will be casting Shield, at which point, Tomas will spend his move to slide on his buckler.
Gorgoron
Gorgoron moves to the inside of the house, once in place, wrapping himself in the protection of his mage armour.
Krazok Vell Firesource
Round 2
Krazok stays next to the mounts looking as menacing as possible with large great sword and javelin, one in each hand. He hisses at the wyverns.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 intimidate
The wyverns seem to question attacking even more.
Krazok Vell Firesource
"Come on, we got our direction now!!!" Krazok yells as he gets on his Axebeak. He clicks his tongue in his mouth, throws his arm down so Sly can jump up on his arm, and the bird starts off to the South, gaining speed quickly.
Selena the Elfen Feline
Selena bursts from the shadows of the building, Tomas you didn't even see her and she was right next to you. She just begins to run to the South leaving her mount behind. "Two of you elves get on my horse and get to moving!"
GM Wolf
The elves can't believe that the wyverns were just intimidated by the dragonkin, yes he looked crazy wielding both weapons... still...
I takes them a few more moments to understand what is going on but soon enough they follow the group to the mounts and two of them get on the mount that is left. The ranger of their group grabs the mule and runs with it behind him. The wizard casts a spell which produces a mount and he gets on to have Arvangail join him.
Tomas Aldori
Shaking his head, he slips his blade back into the sheath and shoulders his buckler. Only then does he remount and begin to follow quickly.
