Ooo, your rogue thought gave me an idea. DM! Can I play an Assassin?!

Thanks for the trickster suggestion.

Grand Lodge

glad to be of service DM grey

okay, hit points roll for the cavalier

1d10 ⇒ 5
1d10 ⇒ 9

and the mount

1d8 ⇒ 3
1d8 ⇒ 3

This is assuming the first lvl is Max.

Copy that, will not be from order of the Lion since that would obligate me to go against the PCs

Wow that horse is going to die under me.

Gearwise i have fitted the character with Masterworks longsword, shield and breastplate. Pending approval of course

Then again look at the Carrion Crown campaign traits, if you think one works for your character post it here or PM me, we will see what I accept.

Some traits that we put down that you could choose besides the ones above are:

Traits
These traits can be used for your basic traits. If you want it for your campaign trait please ask and I will see if it works for your character.
Accelerated Drinker: You know how to drink a potion efficiently, such as by not using your hands, tossing it in the air and catching it in your mouth, or opening it with your teeth. You may drink a potion as a move action instead of a standard as long as you start your turn with the potion in your hand.

Threatening Defender: You know how to avoid a blow while still maintaining your offensive posture. When you use Combat Expertise, reduce the number you subtract from your melee attack rolls by 1.

Magic Traits
These regional traits are available to all Chelish characters.

Desperate Focus: You’ve often found yourself in situations where a lack of focus can lead to worse than a lost spell. You gain a +2 trait bonus on concentration checks.

Diabolical Dabbler: Each fiendish animal you conjure with any summon spell gains +1 hit point per hit die for the duration of the spell that summoned it.

Theoretical Magician: You’ve studied more magic than what you can actually perform. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Spellcraft checks, or a +3 bonus if you aren’t a spellcaster.

The following can be chosen as your Campaign Trait, if nothing works for you here look at Carrion Crown campaign traits and get back to me.

Race Traits
These race traits are available to all characters of the
appropriate race.

Brastlewark Businessman (Gnome): Your time among the Brastlewark elite has led to an extensive knowledge of alchemy and ready connections in the trade. You gain a +2 trait bonus on all Craft (alchemy) checks.

Infernal Influence (Chelaxian): Your family boasts secret diabolical ties that may go back much further than the Thrune regime, and much deeper. You gain fire resistance 1 and a +1 trait bonus on Fortitude saves against poison.

Masterful Demeanor (Chelaxian): As a proud Chelaxian, you are confident that members of other, inferior races will obey you, and quickly. You gain a +3 trait bonus on Intimidate checks against members of non-human humanoid races.

Successful Shirker (Halfling): Born and raised a slave with no hope of advancement, you are adept at avoiding your overseer’s ire and attention, the better to spend time on your own interests. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Stealth checks and a +3 trait bonus on Bluff and Diplomacy checks to avoid punishment by lawful authority.

Regional Traits
These regional traits are available to all Chelish characters.

Cliff Jumper (Cliffs of Fury): You spent your early years exploring and foraging along the coastal cliffs. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Acrobatics and Climb checks, and on Reflex saves to avoid falling.

Dump Salvager (Westcrown): You grew up in or around Westcrown’s rubbish-strewn shores and spent your spare time digging through trash looking for things worth selling. You gain a +3 trait bonus on Perception checks to search for concealed items.

Egorian School Apprentice (Egorian): You studied under one of the masters of the Egorian School style of architecture.
You gain a +3 trait bonus on Knowledge (engineering) checks and a +2 trait bonus on Perception checks to find secret doors or traps in buildings built in the Egorian School style.

Wharf Rat (Ostenso): You may never have been on a boat larger than a garbage scow, but you’ve been helping them dock all your life. You gain a +2 trait bonus on skill checks involving climbing and rope use, and a +4 trait bonus on Appraise checks to determine the value of large quantities of bulk goods without opening their containers.

Whisper Woods Hunter (Whisper Woods): Your family prepared you for a life of evading or destroying fiendish creatures. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Survival checks to track evil outsiders and a +2 trait bonus on initiative checks when you know your opponent is an evil outsider.

Brastlewark Student (Brastlewark): You have studied the arts of healing and alchemy amongst the Gnomes of Brastlewark. You have learned their methods of mixing alchemy with traditional healing in untraditional ways. As a result you have learned to look at both skills in a new way.
You gain +1 to both Craft: Alchemy and Heal, and one becomes a class skill. Additionally, once per day you may gain a +2 circumstance bonus to a Heal check vs poison or disease by making an Alchemy skill check. The DC of this Alchemy roll is the DC of the affliction.

Runt of the Litter (Northern Borderlands): You were found by a clan of Orcs, and for some reason or another, they decided to raise you, instead of eating you. However, you never measured up to them in size or strength, and they made sure you were aware of it. Years of abuse have hardened you, making you quick and always aware of your surroundings. You gain a +1 trait bonus to Initiative rolls, and Perception is always a class skill for you.

Religion Traits
These religion traits are available to all characters of the listed faith.

Asmodean Demon Hunter (Asmodeus): Raised in the church of Asmodeus (whether or not you are currently a follower of the Prince of Darkness), you’ve focused your indoctrinated fervor primarily on the elimination of demons. You gain a +3 trait bonus on Knowledge (planes) checks about demons and a +2 trait bonus on Will saves against mind-affecting spells and effects from demons.

Patient Optimist (Desna, Erastil): As a worshiper of a good and kindly god, you know that Asmodeus’ dominion over Cheliax will pass in time, and are used to having to repeat arguments multiple times to convince even the most stubborn believer. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks to influence hostile or unfriendly creatures, and if you fail at such an attempt you may retry it once.

Social Traits
These regional traits are available to all Chelish characters.

Hellknight Ancestry: At least one of your parents was a Hellknight, and you see the orders as the embodiment of civic virtue. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks to influence Hellknights and a +2 trait bonus on Intimidate checks to influence enemies of the Hellknights.

Lost Nobility: Your family was prominent before the rise of Thrune, but that legacy is now forgotten by all but you. You hold every Chelish government official (including Hellknights) personally responsible for your lost glory. You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack and damage rolls against these officials.

Nonchalant Thuggery: You are adept at keeping witnesses from noticing that anything is wrong. You gain a +4 trait bonus on Bluff checks to keep others from noticing your aggressive actions.

War Horses always have max hit points for the first 2 HD, it just makes sense to me. The other horses did not make it.

The first HD of a player is maxed.

Assassin, well PM me your thoughts on how that is going to work. Though if I remember correctly we are looking for front line fighters, maybe an arcane caster, and possibly a healer.

The traits were in the discussion thread.

Those applied so far:
Arsil - Magus
Segregius Balatarius. A chelaxian cavalier of the sword and follower of Aroden.

Grand Lodge

for second trait i was rather interested in charming or fast talk if you were ok with it

Everyone gets two traits, I don't see a problem with either of those Algar.

The third trait needs to be a campaign trait see above.

Grand Lodge

i'll take desperate focus as third trait (it is a campaign trait correct?)

Withdrawing. Already in a Carrion Crown campaign.

Horse has more hp, noted

While i know that the patient optimist trait is usually reserved for followers of Desna and Erastil, could I still take it as a follower of Aroden?

If not, i would take accelerated drinker, i can see a way of tying that one to his training as a rider

Sandru this is not Carrion Crown

He just said look at the traits

Algar, that could be a campaign trait, but you put in in your background story and make it work.

This is not Carrion Crown, nor will it be, I was just saying the Carrion Crown Campaign Traits could work for the most part, just need a little bit of tweaking.

Yes Doc, you can take Patient optimist as a follower of Aroden. Though you are going to really explain why Accelerated drinker is a campaign trait.

Your background story should have at least 3 paragraphs, childhood and relatives, training in your class, and some points of why you are a third level.

Grand Lodge

ok will do then

Roll call, let us see those that want to enter my homebrew show me some role play in how you introduce yourself. It could be your way to the Dragon's Draught, up on top of the massive building, entering into the labrinth to give Hemmings a surprise. Killing something in the nearby hills, etc. Make it fun and flavorful!

Make sure that you have a background story. If not, you won't get in. We have a rogue, an alchemist, a cleric and a paladin. We are looking for at least two players, if not three. It is July 1, 3 am, where I am get it in before 8pm.

Grand Lodge

There DM more fluff added and campaign trait also.

Arsil

Let me know if you need anything else

Grand Lodge

Arsil had found her way to the Dragon's Draught, she was told that Venture captain Drake could be found there. The pathfinder were always looking for outside help or to exchange information on old relics. This time she was going for a little bit a both. She had been interested in the Azlan empire after her expedition. She couldn't speak Azlan yet but she had found interesting bit of information that if proven true could lead to an interesting discovery.

As she ponders what to she entered the inn
After ordering some ale she quietly ask the bartender

Although i do not have any appointment. I have been told that i could find Venture Captain drake. My name is Arsil Danwsinger and i was once hired by Master of Spell Aram Zey. There is some information i would like to report.

The group of riders were hiding at the tree line, silently observing the cackle of cultists preparing their ceremony by a large bonfire. If he had to give an estimate, Segregius would have to say 25 men. They were a good 150 feet away, far enough not to be seen and close enough for a good archer to pick a target. He checked his saddle one last time, gives a carrot to priest and goes to see Jarrold, the leader of the Holy Menace.

Hey Jarrold, me and Priest are ready. What are we waiting for anyway, we know why they are here. They're bastards, lets put them to the sword and be over with it.

The grizzled veteran puts down his spyglass and turns to their newest recruit.

Seg, as much as your enthusiasm for the hunt warms my heart, you know how we operate. We observe until we are certain. Now they might be here to kill a young boy or girl or even a slave in ritual sacrifice, IF they are extremist. But you also know that Asmodeus accepts the sacrifice of beasts as well. If they are here to kill a goat, we wont intrude. Go back to priest and wait for the signal, you know the drill.

The reprimand barely even registers and Segregius smiles and starts walking away

Whatever Jarrold. Bet you my last 1 gold piece i'll be running one through before the end of the night

Segregius barely has time to mount on Priest's back before the flare is sent up.

Looks like Jarrold has spotted the victim.

He thinks to himself as the horns start sounding out. The Holy Menace isnt a big group, maybe 7 riders and another 5 clerics, 2 wizards and a dozen footmen but they sure know how to make themselves sound big. They have to in a country like Cheliax. Their group could be wiped in less then a week if their true size could be divined. So they use tactics of intimidation and fear and make people think they are bigger and tougher then they really are. It has the intended effect and the cultists are starting to panic.

Segregius and the other riders blitz out of the forest, hooves thundering among calls to other deities. For Iomedae, one calls. Sarenrae! Sarenrae! another. Seg smiles and pushes down the impulse, he wont yell until he's onto them. Couching his lance and leaning forward, a grin creeps upon his face. Nothing brings joice in his life quite like punishing the wicked

ARODEN GUIDE MY LANCE!! He yells triumphantly as he nears one of the running cultists.

He feels the impact in his shoulder and swears as the lance twists in his hand and he lets go before causing injury. Not wasting a second he draws his sword while stopping Priest and rearing him up. They dont get all of them but the ritual is interrupted and the victims are saved. Jarrold will make sure they find refuge outside Cheliax, hes been doing that for years now. And as much as Seg has enjoyed his time with them he feels he needs a change of pace. He's tired of chasing after part time cultist and wants to tackle on real evil. Jarrold knows of course and they've already drank to that. He rides to him to say goodbye,

You still leaving? Jarrold beats him to the punch.

Yeah, yeah I am. For now. You taught me much. I'll never forget you or the others and who knows, couple of years from now maybe i'll seek you out. Heard of an inn where i can find good people. Dragon's draught. Thats where im going. Until next time I guess. They shake hands clasping arms.

Well then, wont keep you. And here's your gold piece. You won the bet

It takes him a couple of days to get there but he finds the place without any trouble. First he stables Priest, removes the barding, bit and saddle and brush him down. Gets his shaving kit out and checks himself out.

Just enough stubble, bright smile, focussed eyes. I think you're ready to meet people. Let's go man

He opens the door and greets the room with a smile

Hi baby He says to the first girl he meets. Where's this captain Drake i've heard so much of?

No fast drinker traits. I have picked an avatar I like but the site wont allow me to pick it right now. Will try updating later.

As a note, once you are in the Dragon's Draught, look at the first page of the Gameplay thread for what and who you see.

The beautiful, white haired and deep sapphire colored eyed female human behind the bar gives you the ale, she wears a light blue linen robe and simple belt with pouch. "My name is Syfer, welcome to the Dragon's Draught, feel free to ask if you need anything. Drake you say, he is actually right over there, though make sure to hold to your manners. One silver for your drink..." She looks at Arsil and seems to be waiting for you to respond.

I am just keeping this here for the bartender's response for when you get it. We will see if Drake responds before I interpret for him.

Grand Lodge

Arsil would pay up the silver

No worries about my manners i will behave nicely while in your establishment.

She takes her drink and head over to the person that was pointed to her.

Captain Drake i presume? I am Arsil Dawnsinger. Would it be possible to talk somewhere in private?

Seg takes off his gloves and tucking them in his baldric. He then pulls two silver pieces to give to the beautiful bartender.

Syfer, i've never met anyone of that name. How fitting it is, it must as unique as your beautiful eyes. The ale will do for now. I have to meet the captain but can you promise me your company later? I would hate to spend the night here without getting to know you.

Flirtatious diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

He cocks his head and smiles at her before parting for Captain Drake's table. He knows that he will have to pay for the company but thats no excuse not to really get along. Its good to have friends wherever you might go. Getting to the Captain's table he hears the elven magus asking for a meeting. Coming to a stop next to the other guest, he makes a military salute and goes right back to "at ease"

Segregius Balatorius, rider of the Holy Menace and Order of the Star. Pleasure to meet you captain. He says extending his hand for a shake.

I have been riding in Cheliax for a while now and have heard only good things of you. I wish to apply to your force. I am formally requesting a meeting. He looks at Arsil I hope i am not bothering you he says with an easy smile.

Grand Lodge

Segregius you don't know yet that she is a magus. all that you can see is a light armor and a scimitar in its scabbard.

bothering? no not really but intruding yes you are. But it makes no matter i can wait for you business to be concluded. I am in no hurry at all. says the rather pretty elven woman.

I could have said lass but i felt it might be perceived as mysoginistic. You are right, he does not know. So far you register more as a scout to him, light armor, elven that sort of thing.

I apologise then. I would be happy to wait until your interview is over, but I thought we could all talk together. I have nothing to hide and it would make the evening so much more pleasant to be in your company, your beauty would match any of the fine woman in this establishment but your grace by far outshines them.

Tall for a man, The heeled boots he wears for riding makes him taller and he looks down into the eyes of the elven beauty. There is no malice in them, but there is also no mistake that he invites her to so much more.

Syfer is weak to your advances, you can tell Segregius. She smiles at you Sef. She coyly accepts your coins and gives you your ale with her other hand lingering on your arm. "Thank you for your complements." Her concentration breaks and her skin turns from normal to a white blue.

"Later, that would be lovely." She says slightly giddy.

Grand Lodge

Well it appears Rider Balatorius, that you have already have son entertainment for tonight waiting for you after she finishes handling the bar. You are lucky she is rather pretty and does seem to appreciate your good looks. You can go first after all someone is waiting for you to have your business concluded here. the elven woman gets up grabs her drink nods to the captain Captain and moves to a corner table on the other side of the in as to give them privacy.

The Venture Captain did not look like he was in a good mood. He sat at a table with a plate of food that had long since cooled and a nearly empty decanter of wine. Paperwork was spread all over the table. In the middle of it all was a map with colored dots noting events that had happened in the area. He didn't look up when he was addressed.

"I am Drake. This is about as private as I have time for right now. What do you need?"

A second Drake approached the table.

"I'll handle this, Sir." he said to the Drake at the table. "We need to get used to helping each other, remember?"

The other Drake just nodded. The newcomer looked up at the person who had approached them.

"This way. What can I do for you?"

I am sorry i have no time to reply until a few hours from now. I live in Canada and it is Canada day, im heading out to enjoy the festivities but will post more later. Enjoy. I know, im leaving at a terrible moment but such is life.

dice:
1d100 ⇒ 35
1d100 ⇒ 70
1d100 ⇒ 631d2 ⇒ 21d2 ⇒ 1
1d2 ⇒ 11d100 ⇒ 961d2 ⇒ 1
1d2 ⇒ 11d100 ⇒ 29
1d2 ⇒ 21d100 ⇒ 49

A pair of women come through the front doors. One is small and battered, looking relieved to be in a familiar setting. The other is tall, and appears to be made of nothing but muscles and sinew. Horns erupt from her brow, and she wears an expression of naked hunger. Those close can her her say, What of this 'reward'?

As she looks in wonder at the inn, Impura hears, We will take all that life has to offer, we will suck the marrow from its bones, and we will laugh.

At first startled by the appearance of this twin, Segregius recovers quickly and, walking the way showed, the horseman loosens the straps of his armor to get more comfortable.

I've heard you were recruiting on behalf of the pathfinder society, that you had bounties to collect. That to work for you was an opportunity to strike at the belly of the beast, at the evil forces of this world. I wish to pledge my sword to such a valiant effort. Pausing for emphasis and meeting the stare of Lt Draxus Drake Did I hear right?

What appears to be a guard comes from the side. "Can I help you good lady?" The voice is gravely and quiet.

"Excellent timing. I leave in the morning to join a group already in the field. If you wish to join the expedition, sign here and be back here at sunrise."

Drake hands the warrior a straightforward contract detailing division of shares and proper treatment of others in the group.

Locke comes up to Drake, "So which group are you sending them to?"

1d100 ⇒ 31
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9Right on average
Impura sizes up the guard, trying to get a general sense of him. 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Gesturing to the girl beside her, She was attacked. I freed her and punished the transgressors. She said to bring her here and the debt would be paid. She pauses for a moment before continuing, I am Sister Impura. I leave to you to decide who the girl is and what her relationship to the Dragon is.

Impura is an odd sight for those unfamiliar with monastic life. Her only possessions a oak staff and simple clothing similar to a peasant's, but much heavier and of higher quality. Her heritage is plain for all to see, stubby horns jut from her forehead and the feet appear misshapen. If a person looks long enough they might make out a tail twitching underneath the loose fabric of her clothes. I'm fine with Impura starting out with basically nothing. Though if you'd like to give her something as part of the girl's reward...

Grand Lodge

so you went with monk then DM grey :)

Grand Lodge

DM Wolf do the 2 drake look exactly alike (twins?)

The three of you are in the campaign, please re-post your introductions into the Game play Thread, and I hope to get my and Drake's responses as we catch you up.

The other players are doing training right now, for two weeks, I hope to have that wrapped up tomorrow, though if Drake has a plan for you to test yourselves first, well we will see.

Twins no, identical twins yes, if you look close long enough... oh wait they wouldn't allow that, especially since one of them whisked you off to a side room.

Everyone you need to have a description of your character or a picture. Be prepared to give a quick distance description of your character as well.

Locke Vernariah wrote:
Locke comes up to Drake, "So which group are you sending them to?"

"I had planned on taking them with me to join the group Ruby was keeping an eye on. I'm open to suggestions though. Once we have a full list of applicants, why don't we sit down and decide how to best use their talents."

GM? How do you want to do this? The recruitment thread is getting a little jumbled and I don't have a clear idea of how you want to handle things. Feel free to speak for/as me if you want to give out information.

[ooc] whatever happenned to ruby no posts there is ages

"Well let me go through those who you have hired on. Is the new contract still through you but Foresend is paying? He seems rather nervous about the money he has on hand, let alone everything else." Locke quieries and states, sitting down and looking at the papers being handed to him.

Looking for two or three players who are willing to post once per day in this Homebrew game.

I want a background first and foremost.

No psionics, gunslingers, alchemists, magus, summoners, or warlocks need apply.

I am not a fan of the buy out systems, and we all have to trust each other anyway so roll 4d6 eight times. Six of these will be your stats, taking the three highest and adding them together.

2 Traits, and one campaign trait... soon to come.

Roll for your money, but your background story is where you can gain more!

Create a quick blurb about your appearance, the more interesting your background story the more bonuses you might stumble upon or requests granted,

Anyone interested in a homebrew exploration campaign? Hunting goblins right now and collecting bank!

Anyone interested in a homebrew exploration campaign? Hunting goblins right now and collecting bank!

Come and apply with what you will, right now it looks like we just have a cleric of 'Sarenrae' and a magus.

The gameplay thread seems to have not been updated in months. Is there another thread?

I had a bit of depression and it took me away from the game, all my games. I am better now and dealing with it in a positive manner now.

This is the thread and looking for players who could be from Cheliax, or just looking for adventure.

A venture captain by the name of Drake is always looking for extra help.

To find out what magics, relics and powers lay in the wilderness. There seems to be a power behind the goblins, for they have powers that are strange. Greater powers such as a titan has awoken and likely will want to use you in their plots in the future.
