Nothing else catches ayour eye in the hex around Tuskgutter's lair....
If anyone packed any meat/parts from the boar please let me know what you have.....
Halfway through the next hex you realized the Thorn River has cut a consistent 20-foot-deep gulch through most of this hex, erosion without the trees to hold the soil....
You see no way to go around until you come upon an area between a pair of hills. An old wooden bridge spans the gulch and the Thorn River.
The bridge looks very old and seems to creak slightly with the wind....

I scanned over the last few pages of the thread and we have been out in the wilderness at least a few days. I also noticed that nobody has bothered to add the wand and the scroll we found in the hidden cache. A wand of Burning Hands (6 charges) and a scroll of CLW. I think that Torod was going to take the scroll and Obi the wand but I'm not sure if that happened or not...
And about that bridge? :)
Torod
Actually I have a list of treasure in my character sheet. I don't have the wand or scroll identified yet. I'll change that if they were. We have a few other things from the cache under the tree as well.
From cache under the clawed tree
- finely crafted dagger,
- a wand of some sort
- silver ring
- spellbook; Unfortunately, rain seeping down into the cache has
damaged the spellbook
- a scrollcase with a scroll in it
If I have it right, we can go over the bridge and continue north towards the trading post.

Torod
I must not have updated my char sheet. Now it's done. The GM already said that the spellbook was a total loss, but last chance to speak up before it is absolutely gone from the party list. Torod will take the scroll. Who gets the wand?

The bridge
Knowledge (engineering)
DC 10
This bridge may not be very sturdy
DC 15
This bridge might hold everyone one at a time including horses, but certainly not much more than that...
Knowledge (nature)
DC 15
Much of the wood and rope in this bridge needs to be replaced.
Eadric Cuthwulf
"Total loss" versus mend or make whole? The jury is still out I believe. ;)
I believe that Obi has expressed interest in the wand... but Ellaria has never indicated her interest or lack thereof.
Knowledge check (engineering): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 untrained
This bridge may not be very sturdy. I would suggest crossing one at a time... dismounted...
Eadric looks below the bridge... trying to gauge the lethality of a fall.
Eadric Cuthwulf
Eadric looks at Ellaria and lets out a little sigh before responding, Of course I will brave the bridge first. I'm not sure that I will be able to swim should I fall however. Hopefully the river isn't too deep here.
He looks down at the river once more, before continuing, I will cross first and then I'll have my horse follow.
Eadric removes a length of rope from his saddle bags and proceeds to tie one end to his horses saddle. The other length he takes in his hands as he prepares to cross. He tentatively steps on the end of the bridge, testing its ability to hold his weight. He glances up and hopes that his rope is long enough to span the bridge. Or short enough to keep him from drowning should he fall.
He murmurs a prayer to Cayden and takes a deep breath...
KenderKin
A single person and mount pass over the bridge, it creaks and groans as if the very fibers are coming apart.....
You finish exploring this hex and exiting edge 2 into a new hex you find nothing of note except in the distance you spot ....
Looming over all the hills in the northern Kamelands,
a graying hulk of a sycamore tree. The 100-foot-tall tree is likely a well-known landmark and is visible for miles around....
Knowledge nature
DC 20
Likely this tree is in the last years of its' life
DC 22
Some sort of parasite seems to be weakening the tree
The choice would be between heading up towards the gold mine and Oleg's or over to the hex containing the tree.
Torod
Knowledge: Nature 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 can't win them all I guess.
I suggest we head towards the gold mine and Oleg's first. Once we're done we can return here, using this tree as a landmark.
KenderKin
The trip back to Oleg's takes you through some familiar areas, you end up spending an additional night out on the journey home.
Tekkel is very happy to see the old boars head as promised he gives over a masterwork longbow and 6 animal bane arrows.
"Looks o yer horse says ol Tuskgutter did not go down easy!"
Imiria seems the Boggard and runs up and begins chatting with the Boggard...she pets the slurk on its head above the tusks, then seeing slime on her hand wipes it on her shirt...
The Boggard points at Eadric.... they talk a bit more and Imiria looks at Eadric and yells "clang, clang, clang"
Imiria
"So at last you found someone who is not trying to kill you...."
"I told Grup about the guard job here, he is going to try it."
"Your horse is in tha stable.....hehe..."
Eadric
You hear your new horse in the stable, but you do not see him!
Anyone can select someone to talk with of course Oleg and Svetlana come out to see everyones safe return.
Oleg
"What news or the greenbelt? Come on in an tell a tale, an update this map with what is out there....
KenderKin
Svetlana is glad to see Ellaria and Obi return....
She approaches with a warm smile...and whispers to Ellaria and Obi
Ellaria & Obi
"We just got a book brought here by Garrick an Imiria, Imiria says it has spells in it, but she says she does not learn spells that way. She has it somewhere, you never know what she will do next!"
Torod
"Imiria, you can talk with the boggard?" It is rather easy to see that Torod does not approve of their new ally. "Be careful with him. Boggards tend to be an evil race. Not that he is evil, mind you, just that they tend towards it, so I am distrustful of him. I suggest that you not be alone with him or his mount at any time and think very carefully about anything he suggests."
Imiria
"Not tah worry he has abandoned his tribe and does not live in their way any longer. and Ubagub is neutral and a magical beast he will let no harm come to me....."
Imiria takes the slurk to a low area during this discussion with Torod...
"Torod can you fill this area with water so that they can be comfortable?"
Torod
Torod is still not convinced but sees no point in arguing the point at this time. "I can not perform that ritual today, but I will help you to find somewhere better for them.
Eadric Cuthwulf
Svetlana is glad to see Ellaria and Obi return....
What are Torod and I chopped liver? ;)
Eadric greets everyone with a smile and hearty handshake, glad to be back at Oleg's after a successful trek into the Greenbelt.
Eadric chuckles at Imiria's comment while quipping, He still has time to change his mind...
Eadric makes a point to check in on Oleg, Kesten and Ula to get the latest rumors and news (and informing them of the trapper Breeg's unfortunate "accident"), before making his way to Jhod to inform him of the abandoned temple and they found. Eadric also shows Jhod on the map, the location of the statue of Erastil they discovered.
Eadric eventually makes his way to the stables to check out his new mount...
Any other loose ends that need dealing with? Who is taking the bane arrows and bow? Has Obi added the wand? What other "quests" are pending? Bokken and some berries? Anything else?

Other quests.........
Wanted: Kobolds
Task: The Sootscale kobolds dwell in a cave
somewhere in the Kamelands. Normally not a
problem, they’ve been riled up by something lately.
Find their lair and ensure that the kobolds aren’t
going to continue being a threat.
Completion: Either slay the kobolds or forge an
alliance of peace with them.
Wanted: Tatzlwyrm
The way everyone talks about tatzlwyrms,
one might think they’re swarming throughout the
Stolen Lands. This isn’t the case; they’re actually
quite rare. A tatzlwyrm head would be a great
conversation piece at Oleg’s. He has promised a
reward for anyone who can deliver one.
Completion: Slay a tatzlwyrm and deliver its head.
Reward: Oleg will pay 600 gp for a relatively
undamaged tatzlwyrm head.
Rumors:
There used to be a bridge crossing the Shrike River to the southeast, but bandits ruined it. They say the old bridge keeper
Davik Nettles haunts the place now.
Some people report that a unicorn lives in the Narlmarches, but sightings of the magnificent creature have fallen off in
recent months. Perhaps the unicorn was driven out by the bandits?
The primary trade route from the River Kingdoms to Brevoy is the East Sellen River, a major waterway that runs through
a swampy region to the west called the Hooktongue Slough. The trade route’s been closed for several months, though,
due to an increased amount of violence from the boggard tribes that dwell there—hopefully the frog folk keep to the
swamp and don’t turn their bulging eyes east toward the Narlmarches!

She wants you to give her scrolls (now and in the future) to learn from in exchange!
Oleg & Svetlana Leveton
Oleg admires Tuskgutters head
"It is too bad Tekkel has his heart set on makin headcheese out o this one, He would look fine on my wall!"
Tekkel
"Yer not talking me out of it!"
Oleg
"You all hear that I will pay 600 gold for a nice looking Tatzlwyrm head if more than one person brings one on the same day, I will pay for the biggest and best one, Otherwise tha first one to bring one in gets paid!"
Svetlana
"Calm down dear! Have a piece of fresh cooked ham."
Eadric Cuthwulf
Very amusing Imiria... now can you be a dear and fetch my new horse for me? That I might finally lay eyes upon it? Please?
And as for your offer, I'm not sure that we want to part with the arrows. They could come in very handy given our likelihood of encountering other dangerous animals as we continue to explore the Greenbelt. We do have this nice bow that we are willing to sell though. While this might not interest Garric, I'm sure Oleg will give us some coin for it.
I guess asking who is taking the arrows is sort of daft on my part, seeing as Eadric is the only remaining character with a bow. :/
The 6 arrows are worth just shy of 1000gp and the bow is worth 375. I think selling the bow is a no-brainer... but what does everyone think about the arrows? Against animals they are pretty killer (pun intended). +3 to hit and damage and an additional +2d6 damage. They could be the difference in a tough fight.
What is this scroll that Imiria is after? The CLW that Torod has? I think is is a pretty good trade at this point no? The spellbook she is offering looks pretty decent. Considering that any future arcane scrolls found could first be added to Ellaria's spellbook and then re-scribed to give to Imiria. Seems like a win win no? Of course there would need to be a limit to the number of scrolls given...
Oh, and Oleg? Did the rest of the prepaid supplies and goods that we ordered also arrive? My military saddle and two guard dogs, along with 4 flasks of acid, a flask of alchemist fire and a smokestick?
I believe with the sale of the bow divided amongst us, plus a "share" of the trading post credit with Oleg and plus my personal gold, I have enough to cover the new horse. Additionally I have my current combat trained light horse as well as my original light horse, available for use by someone else, or for sale.
Sorry for the lengthy post...
Imiria
"Figured you might be hasty how about selling part of the arrows?"
"I am not bringing your horse into Svetlana's home!"
"You can come out if you want to see it."
(to Torod)
"Thank you for the scroll, I shall treasure it always and burn it in a fire and feed it to goat."
"I think tomorrow the Boggard and I shall find Garric and take him back home, I don't think Svetlana's cooking agrees with him, maybe later I'll make him some bug stew...."
Eadric Cuthwulf
No, I think we shall hang onto these arrows for the time being. Please apologize to Garric for me.
I wouldn't ask you to take the horse into the house, seeing as how I am out here in the courtyard... :P
Obi should add the wand and Ellaria should add the spellbook to their character sheets. Assuming Oleg will buy the bow (what percentage were we getting for loot?) we can divy up the the coin and I can pay for the horse. I am also going to assume that the other goods have arrived as well. Everyone should add a flask of acid. Torod, do you wish to carry the alchemists fire and smoke stick? Or should I take the fire and you the smoke stick? And of course I'll add the arrows and saddle. The dogs are to stay at the outpost.
Eadric asks Imiria to translate for him as he speaks to the boggard, Thank you for your assistance in defeating Tuskgutter! We will be sure to check in you from time to time. If you need anything, please feel free to contact us. Be safe on your travels.
Oleg & Svetlana Leveton
Begining to think Eadric is ready to go right back out...
Oleg
"We have a bit of business to attend to Garric an Imiria have been makin sure we are safe enough an the mine is sure to bring some coin, though the fighters are not miners and miners do not feel safe in the mines."
"For one thing both them darn kobolds and mites are all over that general area an likely a big band of bandits as well."
"Garric should be back soon enough and he has been scouting the lay of tha land towards that way. You can ask Imiria but Garric seems to know the land the best."
Oleg shrugs his shoulders..
