Letting everyone know my boss is in town this week (surprise, surprise!) and it looks like I'll be working some pretty long days all week. I'll try to get posts in when I can, but will be tough. I apologize for the short notice I also suffered from. Please bot me in combat.

GM Beazy |

No worries. Best of luck and thanks for the heads-up.
As a side note, if anyone wants to jump into the fight, don't feel as if you aren't allowed to. If your character is holding back due to roleplaying reasons, that's alright. We are still in initiative after all, but you guys know that I take all your actions and post them up in order each round.
I'll give postings a day or so in between Sir Gavin and Tsutamu's exchange for everyone to post any actions they may do (simply say "Holding my action" or whatever to let me know you're holding) and if no one chooses to do something during that time I'll press forward.
Edit: Does that make sense? I think I may have mucked up the explanation a bit?

Treygan Gorski |

Been back since Friday but it seems like every time I go to do some posting the site's been down. Back now and posted.

GM Beazy |

It's a magical wakizashi but no one made the check to identify it's make. As I said, it's likely someone in town could identify it as an exotic weapon. Though if you have Craft: Weapons, I'll allow a check from that because I don't think anyone else but (Mukluk?) had Knowledge: Geography. Thank you to Mukluk for correcting the year. To Corvus, listen to Mukluk. It is now 4714, so the letter is dated 27 years ago.

Mukluk Muletender |

Did anyone claim any of the scrolls I had found at the witches place? I don't remember anyone speaking up.
I think you still have them. Including the ones that might heal you. :)
Mukluk would want the false life.

GM Beazy |

I was going to wait until after the first part was finished before broaching it, but this is really up to you guys. I am all for using the relationship/romance rules, as long as you are all comfortable with it, and it doesn't get cheesy.
For relationships, I'm jotting down all information regarding relationship status in the campaign info tab. Check there for your current info. I've created separate spoilers for the each of you. Unless you tell me otherwise, I'm going to assume you put your +1 per level into your chosen NPC. Feel free to mention it on here or PM me and I'll adjust. If everyone could just let me know what your relationship type is with the four NPCs (Friendly or Competitive).
As for the caravan rules - again, if you, the players, want to work at developing and maintaining the (future) caravan, then I'm happy to use them. I'm not gonna force them on you, though, so if the consensus is "meh", then I'll relegate the mechanics to the background and focus on the story. I'm drawing up a sample caravan right now, but if the group has another direction they'd like to take it, that's fine.
For all, let me know what you think of the rules for each and weigh in.
In addition, if there's anything you'd like me to include in your spoiler, let me know. It'll help me better organize.

Treygan Gorski |

I went through the thread and tried to compile a list of loot. I think I hit everything. I put it in a spreadsheet. The format I used is what I've used in other games where I track loot. Basically in Column A I list where we found it, with a note with details. Column C is current party loot. As items are divvied up or sold, they get removed from there. Columns E, G, I, K, M, O are us with the next columns for GP value. When gold is divided I list it in Column R and S.
This also gives benefit to GM/DMs as they can look to see if one person is lagging behind in the loot category.
If you guys like it, let me know and I'll work to keep it updated!

Mukluk Muletender |

If you guys like it, let me know and I'll work to keep it updated!
Ooh, I like! That's nice...and appreciated.
We have *two* MW chain shirts? Mukluk would like one, but he really isn't frontline material so will let others claim.
I put the stuff we should sell in red, feel free to change back if you want it to keep.

Treygan Gorski |

There are indeed two, one from Tsutamu's chest and one from the goblin village. I have no desire for one myself, so it's up to the others on that topic.
I'm loathe to sell the whispering shrike. I'm not sure if any of us are even proficient in it (since we don't know what kind of blade it is), but it is currently the only magical weapon in the party at the moment. But I'll abide by the group's decision on that.
EDIT: Rereading GM Beazy's last post I now believe we do know what it is and it's a wakizashi.

Treygan Gorski |

For the relationship rules, it looks like we're supposed to know one category of gift or insult for our Trait NPC. I linked the relevant text from the guide below. I plan to pursue a friendly one with Shalelu.
You’ll need to learn what most of these are by observing the NPC in play, but the GM will inform youof one gift or insult category for the NPC associated with your Campaign Trait once the campaign begins.
~~~~~~~~~~~
As far as Caravan rules. From what I've heard, they aren't balanced well at higher levels. This is hearsay though, and to be honest I'm a fan of sub systems. So my vote would be to try them out.
If you'd like us to keep track of them, GM Beazy, I could easily add a tab to the loot spreadsheet I made to keep track of it (assuming we use the spreadsheet for loot too, otherwise I could just make a caravan one). It's up to you of course.
GM Beazy |
I'd like to touch on the overland journey with the caravan, but can easily leave the mechanics of the caravan out if that makes things easier. I've heard the same hearsay. We can always try them out and scrap them if they become too much of a hindrance. The caravan is merely meant to be your transport anyways.
For Whispering Shrike, it's a Wakizashi. Assume Ameiko informed you of this despite my lack of attentiveness to that particular detail. Assume one of the four NPCs can identify most of the items you've yet to identify. I'm not sure if Ameiko's capable of using the blade, so I'll have to double-check in the morning. If the choice is keep or sell, though, Ameiko will keep it if no one else does as it is a family heirloom.
In addition, as a matter of openness, if we continue far enough in the AP, you will become proficient with Eastern weapons.
Thank you very much for the loot sheet. I had something similar but it was nowhere near as eloquent as yours, so it's appreciated.
Treygan Gorski |
Here's a sale list, if everyone's okay with it. If so, I'll update the spreadsheet.
Converting all units to GP
Gold: 450
Silver: 380
Goblin Reward: 1050
Fine Jewelry: 560
SUBTOTAL: 2440
Ring of Climbing: 2500
Wand of Identify: 285
Animal Bane Arrows: 830
SUBTOTAL: 3615
Halved: 1807.5
Currencies 2440
Sellables: 1807.5
SUBTOTAL: 4247.5
Divide by six: 707 each with 5.5 in Party Treasure.
We would end up with 707 GP each and putting 5.5 GP back into party treasure.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Regarding other items. Just throwing this out there to begin discussion, definitely not set in stone yet.
The Chain Shirts to Corvus and Jean (both melee). I saw you wanted one too Mukluk, but you said you weren't frontline so probably better for them. Actually not sure what class you are tbh, lol.
We have 7 CLW potions, 2 CMW, and 2 scrolls. Since Gyorgy is the only one who can use them right now, I'd say give him both scrolls. Corvus, Mukluk, Sir Gavin and Treygan took the first four we found. I'd say Sir Gavin and Corvus for the two CMW potions, 2 CLW to Sir Gavin and Jean, 1 each to Corvus, Mukluk and Treygan
Scroll of Water Walk to Gyorgy, only one who can use it.
Potions of Lesser Restoration I'm kinda unsure one who best. Probably Mukluk for one, Sir Gavin, and Jean?
The Cold Iron Wakizashi, I'm torn. It's a 70 GP item, and exotic. I'd probably say sale myself unless someone plans to pick up a feat for it.
Whispering Shrike. It's an heirloom and given to us. Out of all of us, I'd say Corvus. RP wise it should probably go to someone with a good connection to Ameiko. Of course, that's open to debate.
The longbow, me, Gavin and Corvus are the only ones proficient I believe. Any preferences on it?

+1 to all this.
Based on what GM Beazy says is available to purchase, might everyone want to chip in 125 gp each for a wand of CLW?

Treygan Gorski |

I'd be willing to throw in on one.
In addition, as a matter of openness, if we continue far enough in the AP, you will become proficient with Eastern weapons.
So I read pretty fast. Sometimes too fast. Missed that part above when I wrote the above post. Probably better to keep the cold iron wakizashi then. And still of the opinion someone should hold onto the whispering shrike.

Mukluk Muletender |

György (of course) pines for Ameiko.
Mukluk's face brightens.
Don't you worry about that, György! You got the best wingdwarf around to 'help' you land her.
/me rubs hands together with sadistic anticipation glee

Mukluk Muletender |

For years, I've been tracking my PbP monies in the OOC. Each time I go on a shopping jag, I re-post and update my monies. Here is #1.
Party Loots and Expendables:
---------------------
+1 Pot CLW (2 total now)
1 Pot Lsr Restoration
2 Scroll False Life
Shopping List:
-------------
35 gp Light Crossbow
1 gp 10 XBow bolts
50 gp MW Teamster's Tool (Prof Driver)
----
86 gp
Mukluk Finances:
42 gp Starting Gold remainder
-5 gp Misc expenses @ Rusty Trom- Dragon
+707 gp party split
-125 gp communal Wand o' CLW
-86 gp initial shopping list
----------
553 gp to spend

Sir Gavin D'Monteforte |

I agree to Treygan's proposed disposition and split.
Sell the Cold Iron Wakizashi.
I feel that Ameiko should have Whispering Shrike as a family heirloom. If she doesn't, Gavin will wait until the last moment to claim it. Tsutamu's decision weighs on him, and he wants to understand why he did it.
He will waive off the longbow.
He will chip in to buy a Cure Light Wounds wand.

Corvus JR |

The Chain Shirts to Corvus and Jean (both melee).Corvus - 1 CLW
Corvus - CMW
Whispering Shrike - It's an heirloom and given to us. Out of all of us, I'd say Corvus. RP wise it should probably go to someone with a good connection to Ameiko. Of course, that's open to debate.The longbow?
It makes sense to comment on the ones relevant to Corvus - as I'm more than happy with the general approach.
1. The chain shirt: This works for Corvus as she's only able to use light armour without it affecting her casting.
2. The CLW and CMW are OK - her magic is not healing biased.
3. Whispering Shrike to Ameiko? It certainly works for Corvus as a role-playing decision - but less sure from a roll-play. Can she use it with the weapon finesse feat?
4. The longbow? Corvus didn't buy one as they were too expensive but happy for Gavin to have it if he wants it.
Once these decisions are made Corvus will do some buying and selling (leather armour, shortbow etc.)

Treygan Gorski |

Jean's the only one who hasn't spoken up yet. I went ahead and divided everything on the sheet, if he has any concerns I'm sure we can work it out.
I sold the Cold Iron Wakizashi, so everyone gets another 31 GP added in. Let me know if anyone sees any errors.
EDIT: Oh, I also added an NPC tab. Since the consensus seemed to be giving the Whispering Shrike to Ameiko, that's where I put it. It does indeed make sense.

GM Beazy |

I updated the gameplay thread with all locations where something shiny is located. Those are available for purchase providing you have the right amount to fork over.
In addition, I updated the Campaign Info tab with a link to the Loot Spreadsheet provided by Treygan. Thanks again. I've also uploaded a Relationship Spreadsheet with your current status and scores on it. Feel free to edit it with your current status [friendly/competitive] with the other NPCs beyond your chosen NPC.
As a note, competitive does not mean you hate each other. You get boons for a certain score one way or the other. It's merely the flavor and roleplay that shifts between the two options.

Treygan Gorski |

Awesome, level up!!
Quick question. I planned to pick up a gift for Shalelu while shopping to give to her at the meeting tonight. Is it okay if I hold off leveling until then?

Ring of arcane signets The approximately 1-inch-diameter pentagon of emerald green crystal that dominates this otherwise plain silver ring forms itself into a specific rune, sigil, or similar identifying marker each time a person first puts it on. If the wearer expects this to occur, she can cause the crystal to adopt any shape she wishes. If the wearer does not expect this to occur, the crystal instead molds itself into an image that symbolizes the wearer or some dominant facet of her personality. Once the crystal assumes this initial form, it always takes that form whenever the same wearer puts on the ring. The wearer can, as a standard action, embed this image on any object (as if using arcane mark) simply by pressing the ring against it. The wearer may choose the color and other cosmetic features of the image each time she uses the ring. The brand is otherwise permanent unless removed by dispel magic, erase, or a more powerful spell.

GM Beazy |

He was reinstated into the Sandpoint Guard and promoted to the rank of Captain (one of the highest ranks in the guard that I totally made up). I (and by extension, the Sheriff) wanted it to be more than a simple, "Congrats and here's your badge," so I took imagery from knighting ceremonies. Hemlock added in the part about Sir Gavin's order because people might argue with a pirate like Jean or barkeep like Ameiko, but few folks would argue with a Knight himself. The sword itself is not magical, but it does bear the seal of the guard so it's not only useful as a mundane longsword, but bears a bit of significance as well.
