Don Domingo Delagroza
davos is right, we could do with another person to replace Ralph. We will need to sort out some supplies too. I need to replace my healing potions first and maybe get some other items that might come in handy
Gelbor Halus
"Yes, this was all exciting but i still need some rest. I've taken note of all the items we liberated, and i'll sort out selling them and handing over your share."
Then stroking his chin.
"These two are right, we had a little trouble with the four of us, we could really use a fourth member, do you have any ideas?"
JZ-Sheila Heidmarch
I always have operatives out in the field. Ideally I'd like to send Koriah with you but she is well known in Magnimar and I think for now it's best to keep a low profile. I have one or two in mind who can help out.
After helping Sheila carry Natalya into a more secure room, you retire for the evening, the Venture Captain making an exception and housing you in the lodge that night.

After a comfortable sleep you are woken early by the house staff inviting you for a simple breakfast of tea and porridge.
You are left mostly to yourselves but as you are finishing up a large, powerful looking man enters.
He smiles and nods in greeting before helping himself to a large bowl of porridge that he sweetens with honey.
He has broad shoulders and a barrel chest, a stomach once thick with muscle now starting to turn to fat. Yet despite this and his well-kept beard, he is an imposing figure.
Sir Canayven Heidmarch. he says by way of greeting. You must be the new recruits, my wife has told me about you. I understand there was some difficulty in bringing in that Vanceskerkin woman and yet you prevailed and made a remarkable discovery as well?
Don Domingo Delagroza
Domingo rises from the breakfast table and holds out his hand
hallo, Domingo Delagroza at your service. Its an honour to meet you. Your wife speaks highly of you.
We did run into a lot of trouble . he says with a wry smile as for what we found, I admit I dont fully understand what it is, ancient empires and the like and this star of xin! It is a bit bewildering to be honest but I must admit bloody intriguing too.
Abraham Maedrhos
Aye, I know what you mean! Sheila's the historian, I was just the muscle. But I've been acquiring a taste for it since my retirement, actually thinking about why we were delving a dungeon instead of just looking for the next troll to smash.
So you're headed to the Crow? Who knew that place wasn't just a piling holding up that bridge?
Gelbor Halus
"Too early" Geblor moans as he walks into the dining room and slumps down into a chair, hair in a mess he rubs his eyes.
"They could have atleast given us a late breakfast." He moans again as he drinks some tea and pulls out his small little book and start's checking his numbers.
Then as the big man walks in he nods at him, half paying attention.
"We are heading to the crow, i grew up around those parts." He says while not looking up from his book.

Davos sitting at the breakfast table enjoying his porridge, stands up and greets Canayven with a warm smile
"Good morning, my name is Davos. Indeed we will be heading to the Crow at some point soon"
History: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

The Crow is a massive stone monument that rises from the waters of Magnimar's harbor. It was once a support for the Ires pan, but with that monument's collapse, the Crow is nothing more than an immense freestanding piling.
As with every one of the Irespan's columns, the Crow is intricately carved and embossed with ancient statuary and bas-reliefs featuring the motif of a specific animal or monster-in this case, hundreds of crow like gargoyles and carvings and decorations. Like all of the surviving pilings,
the Crow is 200 feet wide along its midsection (widening to over 250 feet at the upper section where the piling once supported the Irespan above). The Crow extends 220 feet above sea level, and extends another so feet underwater to the harbor floor.
Abraham Maedrhos
You grew up in Magnimar? he asks Gelbor seemingly genuinely interested.
He then leans in closer, speaking in particular to Davos.
Well met Davos, you're the scholar yes? Well, when you're in the Crow record any new pieces of information you can about Thassilon and bring them back to me. I'll reward you well and.. he whispers, ...might score me a few brownie points with the wife.
JZ-Sheila Heidmarch
Davos, feel free to respond Canayven's request but I want to get Kennos introduced.
At that moment Sheila strides in purposefully, a tall slender man beside her.
Morning everyone, feeling better I trust?
Last night we discussed a replacement for Ralph. We were all sad to see him go but I think I have a more than able replacement.
The man beside her stands at about 6'2" with brown hair, blue eyes and a scar on his right cheek. His presence alone seems like it would be enough to inspire. He has a lute on his back and a smile on his face.
I'd like to introduce Kennos Slynt, one of our newer operatives but he has proven very effective so far. We don't know what to expect in the Crow so I am considering a fifth member of this company as well. Any more than that might draw too much attention at this stage. Kennos, over to you.
Kennos Slynt
Kennos bow to everyone sitting at the table.
Kennos looks everyone up and down
Great to meet you all
Reading a book at the table must be a scholar
Kennos walks over to Gelbor
You must be Davos a Pleasure
Before he can answer he moves over to Domingo
Big and muscular must be our hit taker
and your Domingo also a pleasure
He walks over to Davos
and that leaves you Gelbor, I heard good things about you from Koriah
Kennos nods at canyaven
And its good to see you again Canyaven
Kennos sits down in an empty chair at the table
Davos Bixby
Davos looks pleased with the request from Canyaven
"Of course, I shall try and document everything I can about the place".
Davos looks over to Kennos sitting in the chair
"Yes, well met Kennos".
Don Domingo Delagroza
Domingo finishes the last of his porridge and sits back in his chair feeling almost back to his old self.
He looks on with interest as sheila introduces their new companion.
well what has she brought to the party now I wonder? Well time will tell if he is a help or a hinderence, he seems capable of handling himself though
standing smoothly he moves around the table and grasps the mans hand in a firm grip.
well met friend, kennos isnt it? Welcome, please sit, eat if you havent already, there is plenty of porridge left. tell us a bit about yourself and we can reciprocate.
Gelbor Halus
"I grew up in the dockway, it not as glamorous as most of the city but it was my home..." Speaking to Canayven.
Gelbor then watches Sheila bring new someone he had not seen before.
Kennos Slynt, Ralphs replacement..
As the man introduces himself, Gelbor puts his small, leather bound log book away, after making new notes for the new man.
"You seem to have me mixed up with my friend. I'm Gelbor." He nods to the Kennos. "And that's Davos" He points to the wizard. "It's nice to have you on board. Please let us know abit about yourself."
JZ-Sheila Heidmarch
Kennos takes his seat and as he is about to speak, the door opens behind Sheila.
The dwarf who enters is tall for his race. While not as heavily built as some of his kind, he looks powerful nonetheless and his movements are unusually lithe and quick for a Stone-dweller.
His long coarse hair is tied at the nape of his neck, his face dominated by his flinty eyes and braided beard. Hair and beard are brown shot with iron-grey streaks. Mailclad and heavily armed he appears to be a soldier or mercenary, however on closer inspection he is obviously neither of these.
Ah, Drazhak I wasn't sure if my message would reach you. Thank you for attending so swiftly.
Gentlemen, Mr Grimbold here is, I propose, the fifth member of the company. He is, like Kennos, one of our newer recruits but would compliment the outfit well I believe.
Kennos, Drazhak - why not introduce yourselves?
Gelbor Halus
Gelbor pulls out his small black leather bound book as the dwarf is introduced, he starts to write in it looking up at the new guys then back at his book.
"Nice to meet you Drazhak." He nods. "These two should be a nice addition to our little group."
Drazhak Grimbold
Drazhak strides purposefully into the room and removes his steel helmet. "Well met all. I understand you have an undertaking at hand that requires strong arms and hardy hearts. This is a fortuitous day indeed, for I offer both in return for the chance to range far and wide and the honour of investigating the mysteries of the ancients. I am Drazhak Grimbold of Janderhoff."
Kennos Slynt
Well met all of you as Sheila said I am Kennos, Kennos Slynt if any of you are local to magnimar you may know me I am quiet famous down at the local arena. I am also local myself lived here all my life great city lots of people. Maybe we should pop down the areana some time and enter as a team you all look like you could hold your own and there is fame and fortune in it for you though these days not so much hence my joining of the pathfinders.Sheila has caught me up with the situation at hand, So what's our plan of attack? Do we have a leader at the moment? is the position open? Or is this more a democracy?
Davos Bixby
Davos stands up and greets Drazhak
"Well met, indeed more strong arms the better. I'm Davos Bixby, just to fill you gentlemen in we will be heading to the Crow in the next day or two just need to gather ourselves some supplies."
Davos looks over to Kennos
"As for leadership we don't really have one, we've really been running this more as a democracy group."
Don Domingo Delagroza
I am Domingo Delagroza, it is good to meet you both. Domingo looks at the grizzled dwarf
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
like gelbor i am also from magnimar, you don't strike me as a typical warrior, there is something different about you. What skills do you bring to our growing party. I myself am a swordsman , I hope to enhance my skills by joining the pathfinders and enhance my purse also. he smiles and rising again offers to shake hands with the imposing dwarf
Gelbor Halus
Gelbor watches the two men, studying both of them intently.
Then with a wicked smile, Gelbor stands up holding his hand on the hilt of his short sword, he scratches his nose.
"Very nice to meet you both, since you've both introduced yourselves so nicely to us, I'm Gelbor Halus." Then he turns to look at Kennos Puffed up local celebrity..
"There's no leader in this group we each fill a roll and step up when one is needed to be filled. I used to be a simple book keeper." He taps his chest where he put away his small black book."So i'll be keeping track of all the treasure we find and all the riches we make, there's gotta be some order too it all."
Then with another smile.
"I agree with my friend Dom here what roles will both of you be filling?"
Kennos Slynt
What role will I be filling? I am not sure I have many skills I can bring to the party, what role do you need me to fill? Every good group needs a strong leader I could fill that role?
Drazhak Grimbold
Drazhak permits himself a wry smile and grunts.
"Well said Master Halus. Order is needed in these chaotic times."
Turning to Don Domingo, he reaches beneath his mail and draws forth a heavy siler key, hanging on an intricate silver chain. The key is ornate and finely engraved with an image that is somewhat obscured by his leathern hand.
"From what I am told, my skills would have ensured a somewhat less painful time of things of late my friend. Those of you who have knowledge of such things would recognise this..." brandishes the key "as the symbol of Abadar, Master of the First Vault. I am an acolyte of his order and have some skill in the healing arts - and some skill in the hurting ones too! Ha Ha!!! " He produces a small flask and drinks deeply. "That's the stuff! Anyone?" He offers the flask around...
JZ-Sheila Heidmarch
Sheila puts a hand on her husband's arm as he reaches across eagerly to take the flask.
Its a little early for me thank you Drazhak, for both of us... she says chidingly to Canayven.
Come on you big lug, they've clearly got a lot to talk about and we still have Natalya to question. We'll leave you to it.
Drazhak Grimbold
Drazhak paces the room.
"So gentlemen,as I understand it we are seeking pieces of an ancient artifact and our path seems to lead to the Crow..."
Wonder if there is more to this than meets the eye?
Sense Motive on Sheila Heidmarch 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
"Does anyone know anything more about this artefact that we seek?"
He stretches and cracks the knuckles on his fingers. ["I, for one, have been cloistered for too long - if you pardon the pun! My feet ache for the open road and my axe grows restless."
Davos Bixby
"I also reside within the city also from the Marble District myself".
Looking to Drazhak offering the flask
"No thank you, I need a clear mind for my work".
Davos moves over to the writing desk to the side of the room and removes his spell book and some parchment from his satchel, and starts to copy the incantation from the book.

"Interesting a holy man. Everything has it's place." Then a smile cracks over his face as the flask is presented.
"I'll happily partake, I need something stronger to wake me up."
Gelbor takes the flask and has a quick drink. Handing it back, he slabs the table.
"That will grow some hairs on your chest."

I normally put the results of skill checks behind private messages so people can roleplay out telling others that information. For some reason it wont let me send you a pm at the moment.
You have worked with Sheila and the pathfinders on a few small scale jobs, normally lending healing support to operatives who return from some tomb or other. You have always found her genuine and honourable. She is clearly anxious about the discovery of these shards and excited in equal measure but you find nothing suspicious in that.
Kennos Slynt
Taking the flask from Drazhak
Ahh Hair of the dog don't mind if I do
Kennos then sits back in his his chair
So friends I heard you had some trouble getting the last artefact? Do you all want to get some supplies just in-case that kind of trouble happens again? I know some people, personal friends of mine that will give you the best deals and finest items, I can show you the way if you like?
I am fully kitted up as I always am
A smug grin crosses Kennos face
so no beasties or thugs will catch Kennos Slynt with his trouser down ill tell you that for nothing. Gelbor stays behind long enough to get anyones order, then he strides off into the city to get the best deal he can get.
Kennos Slynt

Kennos picks up his lute and starts to tune it

Domingo turns and addresses kennos
there Isn't a leader within the party at the moment Kennos, nor will there be for a while I suspect. We don't know each other enough yet to trust each others judgement fully. We have all just met each other after all.
I'm sure in time a leader will emerge but for now it is best we try to listen to everyone's ideas and vote on our actions.
Turning toward Drazhak he smiles a bit sheepishly the only thing we know about these shards for certain is that they are powerful and cursed! As I had the misfortune to find out. We need to be wary should we find the next one.
Davos Bixby
Davos happy to hear about Gelbor heading out into town
Excellent can carry on with my work
"Thank you very much for the offer Gelbor I would like a couple of items a potion of cure light wounds and a scroll of comprehend languages if that is ok? Here is the 75 gold for the items."
Davos turns to Kennos
"I would join you my friend but im going to be tied up here creating my scroll".
Gelbor Halus
Gelbor nods, "I'll be off then i'll pick up your items Davos."
He head's off to the local markets, hoping to sell off all the armor and items they collected from their last adventure. With a smile on his face he heads back to the group making notes on what money he made in the market, while also playing with his new blade and boot's - doing back flips.

"Thank you Gelbor, but it will not be necessary to obtain any items for me. I have recently restocked my gear and am ready to depart at a moment's notice. A long-standing habit."
Drazhak, sits and taking a whetstone from a small pouch on his belt, begins honing the already razor sharp blade of his battle axe.
Drazhak Grimbold
Drazhak turns to Don Domingo.
"That is an interesting blade you carry. I've not seen one of it's like before and as one not unfamiliar with a variety of hardware, I find it's form and manufacture intriguing. May I examine it and would you mind telling me a little of it's origin? And that of yourself?
Nice blade that. Possibly Elven...I wonder.
Drazhak Grimbold
Drazhak, without realising, taps his foot in time with the music. His heavy boots thumping a ponderous beat on the floor. He smiles whistfully.
Ah the caverns of Janderhoff. How I miss your crystaline beauty. How softly the rythm of the mines beat at the heart of the mountain. A stacato pulse echoing my heartbeat. How the tread of my boots filled the void of silence as I strode among the pillars of your ebon hallways...One day I shall return and see thee again.
Don Domingo Delagroza
Domingo listens as kennos strikes up a tune.
you play well my friend, music is something I am not skilled in, I am tone deaf and my singing is awful.
Domingo smiles as Drazhak asks him about his weapon
at last someone who appreciates fine weaponry, I think I like this brusk dwarf.
ahh I see we share an interest, weapons have always fascinated me. This is indeed an elven design, the curve blade. drawing his sword smoothly he offers it to drazhak a delicate mix of balance and power, the curve in the blade allows for maximum slashing potential yet the blade is light and balanced to be wielded swiftly and accurately. I have always favoured it.
My father is a weapon smith and we used to have a small business in the city but it didnt work out and he returned to my mothers lands in the south. He crafted this for me yet this is the least of his work, I have already asked him to produce a blade specifically tailored to me but it will take time and he lives far from the city now. He is a fine weaponsmith and was bitterly disappointed that I chose to wield his work rather than create it
Kennos Slynt
Don't worry my friend we don't all have a song in our heart like Drazhak here Kennos gestures to Drazhaks tapping foot and smiles
Some may not dance with their feet but they dance with their blades, while others can not woo women with words but strike men dead with them, we all have talents in this world
Drazhak Grimbold
"You honour me sir." Drazhak says solemnly as he takes the sword and tests the balance."A fine weapon indeed. Worthy of a Dwarven smith. Your fatehr must be a talented metalworker indeed to create such a weapon. Would that I could see his finest work. It must be most impressive. If you wield it with a hand as skilled as the one that made it you are a most worthy ally."
He hands the sword back to Dom Domingo and looks around.
