Honestly, they are very weak without their Death Gaze. Standard undead traits and weak melee attacks. You don't assess them to be much of a threat while Death Ward is active on everyone

Between them, Davos, Cara and Morbar destroy the final bodaks with spell, arrow and hammer.

Combat Over


After the short and decisive battle, the group continues following the corridor south. It turns west abruptly and enters another room while also continuing south.

The room has no doors however, and so the group decide to clear it before moving on.

A large, round table carved with letters and symbols in several languages takes up the room’s center, and bits of silver gleam from tabletops and shelves. Several small smelters and other jewelry-making equipment stand nearby. Two large glass tubes filled with a swirling cloudy fluid rest on corroded iron stands along the room’s perimeter.

The writing on the table consists of half a dozen different languages, but they all share theme in that they appear to be instructions on how to communicate with the dead.

Looking around the room you notice scrolls and books and a large quantity of platinum.

It seems what spirits conjured in this room can provide tutelage in how to create lich phylacteries.

Leading on, Jon pushes the group forward into the next room in this Hellish complex.

Smoothly polished skulls yellowed with age gaze from countless small alcoves perforating the stone walls of this chamber from floor to ceiling. The collection contains specimens from many races, though all of the skulls are missing their jawbones, which lie on the lowest shelves beneath the skulls.

Another corridor continues to lead further east from which Markus can hear very faint sounds of movement.

Above the door to this chamber, some of you notice a tiny inscription, though none of you are able to read it.

Looking around at the skulls a shiver is sent down his spine "Looks like some decoration, maybe the skulls of their fallen victims" he says to Jon

There is no religious significance that you can attach to this room. You think it has more of a practical purpose and that in some way users could commune with these dead people - who ever they are - but currently how that is achieved or why is beyond you.

Each skull is carved with a tiny symbol while another symbol is carved on the jawbones.

Davos examines the subtle phrase scribbled in Ancient Osiriani above the stone archways into this chamber that determines that it reads, “To each hieroglyph first pass one left, to each hieroglyph second pass one right.”

Markus listens as Davos translates some of the symbols. "Is that how they activate this table?" He looks down on is unsure of what that would get them if they were to spend the time. "Is it worth us trying to use this table?"
