There are only humans with you on this mission. You are moving mostly west south west.
You travel for almost four hours and in front of you there is a commotion.
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Some sort of slow up.
The path is just over one horse wide and you have been traveling that way for over a hour. Trees are tall and there is no habitation nearby as you can tell.
Dwarven Irori GM
There is a bit of a wait and the order comes to get back on the trail and head out.
You hear there was a quick ambush and two horses were javelined, the goblins ran off on dogs.
You pass a patch or two of horse blood but don't see any other evidence of the ambush.
Forty-five minutes later you hear a SNAP and a horse 2 in front of you goes down with a whinee of pain.
Balik Blackrock
At the first patch of horse blood, Balik let's the humans move on first then quickly can't The Sift spell in order to make perception check for signs of goblins, then mounts up amd catches up with the party.
"How many goblins wete there?" He asks, using his Stern Gaze to enhance his ability to sense Motive.
Layer Balik watches the humans reaction to the injured horse. Are they surprised by the trap? Are they stalwart in the face of these attacks?
Dwarven Irori GM
"There were two I think, in the trees, a prepared ambush, two javelins and a crossbow shot."
Sense Motive agrees.
Watching the reaction, the one in front of you moves to the right and draws his cutlass and you see the affected horse fall to the left, in front of the falling horse you see a man looking over his left shoulder, somewhat surprised.
At that moment you see:
light crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Owch!
The human with his head turned around get shot ear to ear with a bolt and continues to turn and fall to the left.
Your initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The man (cutlass) in front of you yells 'Action Right, crossbow!' turns his horse into the woods and heads 10' into the forest.
The man whose horses went down dives into the opposite (left) side of the train behind a log and a swing trap is sprung which:
Swing Trap: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
just misses the mand ans slams a pointed stick into the log
Shot from the woods to the man in cover:
light crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Your turn.
Balik Blackrock
Balik moves to cover behind a tree, drawing his Crossbow and falling prone. If he can clearly see the enemy Crossbow man, he will fire at him, otherwise he will carefully scan the woods trying to perceive the enemy.
Crossbow or perception: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Dwarven Irori GM
Balik moves him and his pony into the brush and gets off the pony and goes prone.
The pony is not happy, Balik realizes that from where he is the pony will block the shot of the crossbow in the trees
From across the trail you see two goblins run out of the forest from cover and run up to attack the prone man who was missed by the trap.
Halberd: Right: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Short Sword/Shield: Left: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Confirm: Left: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 2 = 7
The man is wounded, but hurt.

---New Round---
Prone Man Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Crossbow Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Cutlass man (Init:19) pulls out his shield and puts it between him and the approximate location of the goblin, moving farther into the trees.
The Prone man stays prone, pulls a Triangular Punch dagger quite stealthily and stabs at the short sword goblin without gathering a AOO from either Goblin
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 4 = 21
Dagger: Confirm: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 5 - 4 = 15
DamageCrit Damage: 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + (3) + (3) + 3 = 12
The Goblin looks down and wonders why the man was grabbing at his nards, eyes roll back in his head and falls back, leaving the mans arm extended with the punch dagger
The Goblin crossbowman does not seem to act.
Your turn...
Dwarven Irori GM
Shooting your crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 at the halberder. It goes high and hits a tree about 12' up. Grabbing your longspear, you move to just inside usual striking range of the Goblin.
The Goblin(on his action) looks around Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6, fails to see or understand that the ambush is failing and advances on you.
His swing: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 at you happens about the same time as your
AOO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22. Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The goblin is struck, seemingly to death but is still barely conscious.
Your perception: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 hears some crashing in the woods where cutlass man is and you hear a human voice say something then "ONWARD" and more crashing.
The Dagger man scuttles 5' toward the goblin halberder and stabs him in the kidney.
The goblin falls over.
Your action...
Dwarven Irori GM
Klothar, I mean Balik :) Moves over to the man, who is looking into the woods and standing up carefully, taking the Goblins small halberd with him.
Balik mutters in singsong and Heals: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 the man, closing most of the short sword thru the leg wound.
"Thanks I think I can walk now. Dennison." He bumps his elbow towards you, seeming to interested in watching the forest line.
Behind you two unmounted armsmen come down the road holding heavy crossbows, a horseman with a javelin follows.
"ARE YOU ALRIGHT." yells the horseman. "Oh, you got two. Take ten and mount up and head down the trail." they pass you, they stop and look at the man who was taken with a bolt ear to ear, and are spending time there.
Dwarven Irori GM
The horseman and armsmen pull the bolt thru the man's head, collect his weapons and put him by the side of the trail, say a few words and leave.
He bends down on his knees and searches the goblins a bit better.
"First intelligent thing I've seen these idiots do all morning. Still got that guy that chased after the crossbow goblin. We could follow him, goblins gotta be going somewhere. (looks at you closely) Your not a farmer. Or wanna head up the trail, got our trap detectors in front now." He smiles.
