"Does this thing need a sword through it too? That's what i do when a computer doesn't behave. It doesn't work after, but it makes me feel better." says Taugortavol as he laughs over the comm.

William gets on the terminal too and manages to break into the bridge’s computer records. Interestingly this includes information about a ship called Lawblight, a Besmaran pirate ship that initially crippled the Endless Threnody, as well as the coordinates of the downed Starfinder vessel on a planet called Ulmarid in the Vast.
When you return to the Loreseeker with the coordinates, you find the hologram of Venture-Captain Arvin already active and awaiting their report - "Well? What happened?"

The Lashunta smiles.
"We pacified the remaining crew, and discovered two things of interest - the location of the missing Starfinder vessel, on a planet called Ulmarid, out in the vast; and intel about a Besmaran pirate ship called the Lawblight..."
| Shifty |
"Ulmarid?" the image flickers as he ponders "Well, I'm grateful for the news and eager to get started on the next step of their quest. It's time to leave the Endless Threnody and return to Absalom Station whilst I research the planet Ulmarid and how best to approach it. As an additional reward, I'm sending through a password to open a concealed compartment within the Loreseeker that contains delicacies that are suitable to most palates, such as sticks of candied meats. I know this mission isn’t yet complete,” he explains, “but you’ve earned the right to celebrate a bit on your return trip. I asked the quartermaster to include a few delicacies so you can enjoy being alive—after an encounter with necromancy.”

"This razor-beast jerky is very tasty!" says Taugortavol between chewy mouthfuls.
"I'll set a course back to Absolom Station now. Buckle up everyone."
Bonrakoru

"I keep telling you guys, we're going to fight this Lawblight before long." Bonra grumbles as the ships name comes up for a second time this day, but he's eager to see what happened on Ulmarid, and even more eager to get to the food on the ship.
"Well, let's head back home and see what else we need to do to get to the bottom of this. I bet we'll be fighting more dead heads soon enough."
Askara Starfarer

Oh good! Food! Heh, I guess that really is one of the greatest perks of living. And like my uncle always said, the first thing you do when you get back from a mission is get some decent food.
Askara takes a seat by the table and helps himself to the contents of a bowl in front of him.

Upon arrival at Absalom Station, you were given a brief opportunity to shop and replenish your supplies before being sent back out in a Drake class ship
Venture-Captain Arvin’s pre-recorded hologram stands on the bridge of the Odyssey, his hands clasped behind his back. “Hopefully your journey was uneventful. Based on your previous mission, we’ve obtained information about the planet of Ulmarid. The desert world has breathable atmosphere but is devoid of intelligent civilization. A cloud of asteroids—leftovers from a collision of the planet’s moons long ago—surrounds the planet, so you must carefully navigate the Odyssey to the surface to find the crashed Unbounded Wayfarer".
“Be sure to bring the Starfinder insignias with you; they will be critical in recovering the information the Starfinders left behind. If you can recover any of the lost Starfinders alive or dead—please do so as well. Good luck.”

Taugortavol takes a seat at the piloting station and takes a few minutes to get used to the differences in the control setup.
"This ship is pretty fancy! It's clear this mission is important to the Starfinder Society. Maybe they're also concerned about this Lawblight too, Bonraku. We certainly have more firepower this time, that is for sure!"

You manage to track the distress beacon emanating from the Unbounded Wayfarer, but the ship is not easy to reach. It has crashed amid dunes too soft to safely bear the Odyssey’s weight, and Taug deducts the safest place to set down is about a half-hour’s walk away.
You set down in the sand and open the hatches - the surface of Ulmarid is a wind scoured desert with jagged protrusions of rock thrusting up through the sand. The air has a harsh tang, like burning metal.

Turning on his environmental protection, Bonra bounds out of the ship and grunts against the blasted wind.

Taugortavol sniffs the air experimentally but decides to leave his suit helmet off for now.

Taug notices a couple of things - a piece of the wreck half-buried in the sand contains the Unbounded Wayfarer’s antipersonnel weapon, a tactical X-gen gun on a pintle mount.
He also recognizes characteristic impact marks of heavy metallic slugs, such as those used in coilguns or railguns on starships. The damage on the ship’s hull indicates that it tried to dodge the strafing fire but darted the wrong way.
Unfortunately, the last thing he notices is a large crystaline burrowing insect burst from the sand, a 14-foot-long burrowing beast with six powerful legs. Its carapace is made of thick reflective crystal and it bears enormous mandibles that thrum with sonic energy.
