The deafing blast from the gun thunders in the small room -
I wonder if there should be Fortitude Saves for some kind of partial deafness when a gun goes off in a small space, oh well, it is something to think about, maybe I've been watchin Archer too much
- and the bullet rips through the nightgown just above the thing's hip. The cloth is pulled out and away, and a piece of it is torn off, but it would seem as though the bullet missed striking the flesh.

The monster keeps coming forward, seemingly unfazed by the splash of acid that eats away at its dried and decayed flesh.
It comes to stop in front of Moq. With a hissing sound of air being forced into lungs that have long ago dried and shriveled, it lifts both of its hands above its head and tries to bash the goblins brains in with its fists.
Undead Slam Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage if Successful: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
If Moq is struck by this monster, he must make a Fortitude Save immediately, DC 14. This is slightly out of the norm for this attack, but this is how I am going to work it.
Gruul
Gruul fills with rage as he watches the horror attack his friend. He drops the pack he is holding, closes the distance while drawing his falchion, and then attacks the creature with all of his might.
Attack, power attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
possible damage: 2d4 + 9 ⇒ (2, 4) + 9 = 15
Surana Vilyan Hukni
Surana frowns thoughtfully and moves again for a clear shot, then sends another dart flying toward the thing.
Ranged Touch (melee penalty): 1d20 + 0 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 0 - 4 = 8
Sadness.

After the monster strikes Moq, it begins to raise its arms for another attack, but Krevek is quick to step up and in a masterful stroke he severs the creature’s arms at the elbows.
Filled with unholy rage the thing staggers and turns, rolling it’s head from side to side and mouthing obscene words that cannot be heard.
Gruul moves in, fearing a broad swing in this close space, he lunges with all of his might and drives his falchion into the corpse below the breastbone, then lifts and tears with the weapon. There is a sound like old leather being rendered and twigs snapping. When he pulls his weapon back, the monster falls in a pile of bones and desiccated flesh to the floor, whiffs of acrid smoke rise from the corpse where Surana’s acid still eats away at it.
Moq shudders, it is as if he has walked a precipice overlooking the darkness of an eternity cast into an abyss where there is no return, no release and only pain.

Mog shudders, it is as if he has walked a precipice overlooking the darkness of an eternity cast into an abyss where there is no return, no release and only pain.
Beautiful!
Surana studies the thing's remains in an attempt to discern its identity and origin.
DM, can I give you a knowledge roll of some kind?
Mog Metalthief
What about Knowledge Religion?
Mog continues to backpedal, until his back is against the wall. He blinks rapidly in a poor attempt to try and clear his head. Eventually, he resorts to violently shaking his head and rubbing his eyes.
"If we spot sumfink like that again, don't let it touch yer," mumbles Mog.
Surana Vilyan Hukni
Surana's eyes narrow as she fixes the goblin with an unreadable stare. Suddenly she strides up to him and places one hand on his forehead, continuing to stare at him. After a moment she removes her hand and releases a breath. "It is well that your people are growing in hardiness more quickly than in mental capacity."
With that, she turns and begins to examine the rest of the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Krevek
Krevek returns his sword to its sheath and begins searching the room, he knows that it will take one far more educated than him to discern what the creature was.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

The room appears to have been undisturbed for a very long time. The tight fit of the door has kept out any accumulation of dirt and from the catacombs around it, but there is still a thin, grey layer of fine dust on the bed and other items in the room.
The bed is simple, and the frame, supporting a thin mattress, is a box like affair, with two drawers built into it. There are sheets and a single blanket on the bed, but the material has rotted, and falls apart if it is touched.
There is a single wardrobe against the west wall. It is made of wood, and the wood seems to be in good condition. There are handles on the two doors of the wardrobe, and no sign of a lock.
On the east wall of this small room there is an opening, about four feet wide and seven feet high. Through the opening you can see an even smaller room, no more than eight feet deep and five feet wide. There is a basin in this room, and a commode, and against one wall a sort of partition like door that looks as if it is made of tempered glass.
The drawers under the bed hold clothing, sized for a thin human sized female. Most of the clothing has rotted, and become frayed, but there is one garment that is in remarkable shape. It is a body suit made from a heavy blue fabric that does not feel like any kind of natural fiber. It has several pockets, and an arrangement of loops around the waist, but no belt. It is held closed up the middle of the garment by a closure device unlike anything you have ever seen. Hundreds of tinny teeth are closed onto each other by a sliding, small, metallic device. This garment is heavy, and seems remarkably durable, perhaps even cut resistant.
Under all of the items in one drawer, the rotted clothing and the heavy garment, is a strange looking device. It resembles a very small pistol. It is silvery, made of metal and about six inches long. It has a barrel that is short and very small in diameter.
The wardrobe holds other garments that are also sized for a small human female, dresses, blouses, pants, as well as a few blankets, sheets, and more towels, folded neatly at the bottom of the wardrobe. There is also a pair of high, black, boots, made from a material that resembles leather. The boots are in excellent condition, are very sturdy, and have a thick “waffle” like sole. The clothing, sheets and blankets are rotted beyond use. On the top of the wardrobe is a small wooden box, no more than five inches long and two inches wide, and inside of this box are three sets of earrings, made from gold wire and dangling with blue and red semi-precious stones.
Surana Vilyan Hukni
Surana nods and moves to examine the earrings and preserved clothing. "It is strange indeed... but I am unable to determine if any of it is magical. For that we must needs return on the morrow."

Krevek's sun rod is done. He must use another, or it will be impossible for the character’s to see (other than those with Darkvision). It has been over two hours since Surana and Krevek entered the catacombs, meaning it is probably sometime just before noon.
You have collected and examined everything of interest in this room. What do you do now?
Krevek
As the sunrod gives its last light, Krevek strikes up another, takes a last look around the room. "I think we are done here, I believe there was more to examine," he says and makes his way to the door.

Added Strange Pistol and Bag of Towels to Equipment~
Reclaiming his towel bag and shoving the strange 'pistol' into his bandoleer, Mog again takes his place at the rear of the group.
"Yer know, yer lot never said why yer were dahn 'ere in the first place. Now I know it ain't me place ter pry or anyfink... But the bloomin' church upstairs, right, and more importantly, the captain, are gonna want answers. So if yor expectin' us ter vouch for yer free... Ya get wot I'm sayin'?" Mog clears his throat, speaking slightly louder than before. "Because the dwarf is probably up there already, tellin' them all sorts of stories of wot she seen dahn 'ere."
Surana Vilyan Hukni
Surana frowns as she considers the goblin's words.
"We will confront each situation as it manifests itself, young one."
She turns serenely to Gruul and answers his question with a stately nod.
Krevek
Which doors are still not opened?
Krevek proceeds to closest set of panels that are not opened, looks over at Gruul, nods and perform the sequence shown to him by Surana to open the door.
Terquem
The panel in front of Krevek begins to open, but fails to move more than a half dozen inches or so before it squeals to a stop, but a gentle shove on it and it slides open the rest of the way.
The room beyond the door is similar in size to the one across the hall, but there is not a second smaller room off of this one. It appears to be a room where meals were prepared and eaten.
Along the south wall is a counter, about thirty inches off of the floor, and at the west end of the counter is a large stone sink. Above the sink is some kind of spot, but there is no pump or handle to draw water from where ever the water might come from. At the east end of the counter there is a sophisticated looking stove, the door is open, of this stove, and small lumps of coal still rest in the belly of the stove. The stove is about twenty four inches, round, and has a large flat skillet on it, and next to that, a kettle. Both of these look to be made of fine steel, and show no signs of rust or wear.
There is a narrow table, four feet long and just two feet wide in the center of the room, and five chairs, tow along each of the long sides of the table, and one chair at one short end of the table, the west end. On this table are three settings of a plate, large bowl, two cups, at each setting, and a set of cutlery comprised of two forks, a spoon, and a knife. The cutlery and setting pieces are made from a very strange looking material that is not wood and not ceramic. It is dark blue in color, and looks clean and unused.
