Alrighty, to make things easier for those who have wound up here, I'd like for each of you to share your appearance/physical description section of your alias, so that folks don't have to go digging through your profile (and possible spoilers!) to find it.
I'll try to get more feedback out, soon. You can feel free to flex your own character information, to fill any possible gaps you might see, though I'd prefer it still make sense to the character. I'll try to get something up to make that easier in the short term.

Human Form
____________________
Kesin is a girl living on the streets, scrounging for what she needs. As such, her clothing consists of a blend of rags that other people threw away, full of holes, tears, or stains.
She seems about 11 or 12 years of age, having had the first growth spurt of puberty, but physically, still very much a child(and still small...just not primary school small). She has a very thin frame, seeming underfed, and moves about in a very svelte way, having control of her body beyond that common for children her age.
She has unkempt, dishevelled hair of a red-gold coloration, the exact tone of which slightly depends on the ambient light, and which she keeps at short-medium lenght, cutting it herself with a knife whenever it becomes matted.
Her bright, intelligent eyes sparkle with expectation, used to scan their surroundings for opportunities, for options and chances. Possibly unsettling to some, one of her eyes is a deep green, the other a deep blue, as she suffers(well, not really - she doesn't care) from heterochromia.
Her feet are bare, and some dirt stains them, as well as her hands and face, but underneath all of the dirt covers, there's a pretty young girl(not woman/teenager...girl) with a charming smile and a melodic voice.

Anthropomorphic Fox Form
____________________
Pretty similar in size, age and appearance to her human form(including the blue and green eye), her whole body is covered with a reddish/auburn fur reminiscient of her human hair color. Not wanting to make even more holes into her clothing, she usually only wears lose-fitting elements, to make sure there's room for her bushy tail.
She mostly sticks to her human form, though, because fitting clothes are much more easy to come by, other people seem to look more favorable at her, and last but not least, she does NOT want to get lice.(and preventing that from happening would require a much more elaborate hygiene routine in her fox form).
Lia Vantas
Lia's Appearance
Before you stands a petite half-elven girl with ear-length blonde hair and tanned skin. Lia is clad in a soft yellow blouse with a grey chain shirt over it, and brown leggings & boots. Her baby blue eyes casually meet yours, and she rolls her shoulders. A scar in the shape of a check-mark is on her left shoulder, a souvenir of some stunt accident or other.
Flying Jack
Oh boy! Here's the "short" version:
Like any surface elf, Flying Jack is tall and thin, though his skin bears a hint of veiny blueness, and of course there are the telltale gills and webbing. When he’s on land and not performing, these are easily covered up with gloves and scarves; the gills, in a way, have become his brand as a performer, and without them he’s a far less memorable face in a crowd. His outfit is simple for an acrobat—tight leather under the looser pants and vest of a monastic student—but bells and tassels make little sense underwater, and Jack cares first and foremost for clothing he can swim in, maintaining a near-constant juggler’s Prestidigitation to dry his outfit off on land. His voice is confident and full of laughter, carrying an elvish accent that he plays up to sound exotic, and his showman’s patter, practiced over the past year, has gotten quite decent.
While it’s been years since he wore the traditional seaweed of his people, Jack is still heavily influenced by their beliefs that clothing should be simple and practical. His simple outfit conceals the inner-sewn pockets in which he often carries hidden tricks, props, and weapons; a functional bandolier brings additional storage space to his outfit, and his juggler’s bag is well-made and rugged, capable of hauling thirty pounds of throwing implements. A thick metal bangle on his right wrist conceals a small, watertight pocket, used to carry and conceal small messages or coins. Often, he carries a cheap throwing trident as well, though this is mostly for show, playing off of his aquatic heritage.
* * *
Also, I managed to trade away every single Bard ability except for Spells and Jack of All Trades, and it seems others did the same to some extent, which means we can do cool non-redundancies with our performances. (Rakhel's Fire Break might actually get real useful against devils, Slumber Song is awesome ooc, and... I dunno, I can turn into a statue or something)
Rakhel
Rakhel's long, flame-orange hair stands out in any crowd, though today it is braided as tightly as she could manage, and the braid coiled up on the back of her head. Covering it all is a bright black and green scarf. Her blue, green and gold skirts swirl around her as she walks; a soft fawn-gold blouse of fine silk is bound up under a dark brown bustier with metallic gold laces. Occasionally the flash of a bit of slipper under the skirts shows she is wearing soft, low-heeled shoes. She wears a beautiful pearl and onyx necklace, a few rings and several bangle bracelets. Her earrings dangle with small sparkling gems on the tips that catch the light. Either she is quite wealthy, or they are cheap costume jewelry, it's hard to tell, but the latter might be suspected due to the casualness of the rest of her ensemble. Rakhel's makeup is understated and soft, accenting her large amber eyes, full lips and high cheekbones and Her skin is fair and unblemished. She seems to be of average height for a human woman... about 5'6" tall, and not thin, but not heavy either.
She walks with the casual grace of a dancer as she moves through the park, her neck craning in all directions as if looking for someone or something. Perhaps most telling is the easy way she has of maneuvering through the milling throng as if it were parting for her, though in truth it doesn't look like anyone intentionally moves out of her way.
Adonara Strixis
|
Hello, everyone! It does look like we've got an interesting range of bards here, as Flying Jack said, doesn't it? It should be fun!
To outward appearances, Adonara is not an unusual representative of the companions who serve Calistria in Kyonin and across Golarion. Beneath her mane of ashen hair, her calm green eyes, and her studied graciousness, a cruel, bitter streak runs through her heart. That is not unexpected of a priestess of the mercurial elven goddess, but its expression in Adonara is particularly subtle. By her own account she is pretty, rather than beautiful, and pleasant, rather than fascinating: on balance, a rather unremarkable servant of the goddess.
She dresses elegantly as a rule, though rather more sombrely than the average Calistrian, and, in private or in business that requires it, more practically. While entertaining a client or maintaining her presence about the more fashionable parts of town, she favours more elaborate clothing, with rich fabrics in extravagant abundance, and wears her hair carefully waved, curled, and pinned at the height of or even attempting to set fashion, but in less fussier circumstances Adonara is content with clothing cut more simply, though still in good fabric, that follows the gently curving lines of her body without impeding her movement, and with her hair either loose or in a simple single braid.
Due to her family’s roots in the Mordant Spire, she is as comfortable wearing masks as not on any occasion, whether a small silk domino or the elaborately-carved full-face covering traditional to the Spire. Though Adonara would be embarrassed to admit it, this is part of her weakness for trifles, extending from hats with elaborate plumes, scarves, handkerchiefs, and elegant gloves, through to impractical shoes and intricate jewelry.
On the day of the protest, though, she's dressed practically: dark leather armour and a black cloak lined in deep purple like a late evening sky. If she finds a quiet place to stand, it's fairly easy to mistake her for a tall shadow.

I would like everyone to direct their attention to the link to everything ever... also at the top of the page. You can cycle through the tabs at the bottom. This document was shamelessly lifted from another campaign. :)
I would like for each of you to fill out the information relevant to yourself on the sheet that I haven't already filled in. I think I got all of the class skills correct. A lot of the stuff should figure you out on its own, as you supply information. For example, listing your misc mod and ranks into a skill should automatically update your skill bonus. :)
Moving forward, this should help a great deal in keeping characters 'up to date' as it were with inventory and such. It's not absolutely necessary, but it's a really good way to doublecheck that at the very least, skills are accurate. :)
Shya
Rakhel's eidolon is like a slightly smaller version of herself... not an exact copy but close enough to be perhaps a younger sibling... Shya's hair is a glowing golden-red, with shimmering amber eyes and fair skin. She comes clothed in bright colored skirts and white blouse with a black bustier.
Flying Jack
Well dang, that thing's gonna stick out like a sore thumb...
Although, if you get your eidolon Skilled (UMD) or even just decently trained in the skill, it can do good things with a Cap of Human Guise.
Hot DM
Better than my Half-elven Eidolon. I say Half-elven, because it's important you understand, she's also pretty sure she's half Treant.
She's not actually elven at all, but her brother (her summoner) has her convinced she's his half-sister.
Rakhel
yes well you notice going to the park, she's alone (no eidolon)
Flying Jack
Better than my tiny, grappling monstrosity. But First Worlders are totally OP (and not valid with Unchained).
Haute DM
Welcome your new beneficent overlord, same as your previous overlord!
I figure keeping different DM profiles makes some things a little easier to access. Also, pun!
Rule 0: Thou shalt listen to thine DM, for it has all the powers!
You should all be familiar with this. What I say, goes. I will always avoid using this rule, but as a human being, there will be times I will be unable to articulate precisely the problem I am having with a situation. Expect that the majority of the time, I will do my absolute best to give you a good reason for why I'm not letting something happen. This is an at-will RP, and you are free to leave whenever you like... and I am totes free to fire you. That being said, if there's a problem, I'll talk about it. If you have a problem, you should talk about it.
Rule 1: Thou shalt Post.
I expect roughly one post per day from folks. I will understand if this cannot be managed, and will most assuredly do my best to never be the -cause- of that. If you don't post within 24 hours of your combat turn, I will bot you. You can pregenerate your turn and put them into spoilers if you think you'll be busy. Thinking along these same lines, I'd really appreciate it if you guys were able to check Paizo two separate times per day. I understand if you can't and that life happens. The idea is that the gameplay should -never- stall for more than 14-16 hours, even in the worst case. If you expect to be unable to post, say something. Multiple absences without letting us know here may be grounds for expulsion at DM Fiat.
The current idea is to give up to 48 hours out of combat for posts, even if it's something like 'I stand there and stare into space'. I'll generally wait for everyone to post once before I continue things, unless they should naturally evolve (like, I'll immediately give you information as a knowledge check. Immediately being relative. :P)
Rule 2: Thou shalt decide!
Every game needs deciders. And the first two people to agree to a course of action when given options will generally be the people who decide what happens. Exceptions include major decisions (where I will call for a vote from everyone) and my character would nevers (where I am willing to somewhat retcon). The latter should be used -very- infrequently, because it means you placing your will above other's will. If you simply aren't done with a scene, feel free to continue it in spoilers. :)
Rule 3: Thou Shalt Automate!
A tactics section will do us a world of good. If you have immediate actions (Or specific ways you use attacks of opportunity), it is in your best interest to tell me how to automate them. List any change to how you'd do things within a post, if this changes. I will roll saving throws for the effects of my baddies when they utilize them. I will also roll their saving throws.
Rule 4: Thou shalt maintain order!
I will do my best to maintain a posting format, wherein players roll first, in alphabetical order, and then enemies roll in alphanumerical order. If I forget anyone, I'll append it to the end, due to the way rolls are done. I'd appreciate it if actions were rolled in the order that they occur. If you have a pet, your pet will go on your turn along with you. You may intersperse your actions and your pet's actions within a turn. You should always roll your dice first, and any pet or summon's dice second.
Rule 5: Thou shalt talk out of turn.
Seriously. Feel free to talk out of turn. Aid free actions out of turn. If you have a way to share information, aid knowledge checks. Never feel slowed by initiative, except where move, swift, and standard actions come into play.
I intend to run things a bit differently than the base book. I'll be using fast progression instead of normal, which means I can cut out fights that seem unnecessary (and perhaps random encounters, entirely!) I've already begun adjusting encounters as far as book 2 to make things more customized to your characters. This may have unforeseen consequences down the line that I may have to adjust for, as I'm not omniscient. But we'll see! :)
I'm still currently snuffling through profiles looking at things. I've not dug into crunch at all. If I don't see a mistake now, no big deal. We can fix things as they come up.
Any questions or disagreements so far? :)
Kesin
Neither. Except maybe two questions:
1.: Do you have a preferred format for the Character Information Bar? I omitted doing one for Kesin until now in case you prefer us to have them a certain way.
2.: If that's a GM profile all for us to have fun with, will you link stuff like the map or "everything sheet" in your "quick-access" bar? That way when reading up on an update, one doesn't even have to scroll up to top of page before responding(yeah, I'm lazy...but that scroll time adds up over 100's of posts ;) )
Haute DM
1) I do, and I'll get back to you on that. I don't want to be a bother, after all. I'll definitely want everyone to have the same order on their AC, though (one of these things is not like the other!)
2) You people and your good ideas. Now I'm going to have to incorporate that into my other campaign.
Haute DM
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Assume that everything on 'TacMap' that is purple is crowded space. In other words, difficult terrain. You may place your characters anywhere on the map other than where another token is positioned.
The game opens with skill tests, you may perform each one as many times as you like, but only one of any of them per 'round', so to speak. Assume there is no 'initiative'. I'll stop you once you reach your limit. Each 'round' is about an hour. The options are:
Listen for Rumors (Gather information): Diplomacy or Perception.
Pilfer (Thief!): Sleight of Hand and Bluff if you fail.
Rabble Rouse (Win over the crowd): Diplomacy or Perform.
Silence Undesirable Elements (Make a specific group shut up): Bluff or Intimidate.
Watch the Crowd (Watch the crowd, Dumdum.): Sense Motive or Perception.
There are five separate groups bickering and protesting, resulting in a very muddied message.
Kintargo Partisans (those who hate Cheliax and wish to be free)
Economic Conservatives (those who feel Thrune shouldn't be taxing so much and should keep his hand out of their businesses)
Advocates of Democracy (those who feel Thrune's appointment - as opposed to someone chosen by the people - is inherently wrong)
Anarchists (those who are just here for the party)
and Chelish Loyalists (the anti-protesters who like Thrune and Cheliax).
Ideally, we'll play it out hour by hour but I understand that my time zones aren't the same as everyone else's. Don't forget to include your bonus that you get for your 'reason' for being at the protest, should you choose to use it.
Haute DM
I'll respond to everything nowish, then get back to looking over and connecting the dots. :)
Haute DM
Huntress of Heroes appears in Book 4, if memory serves, so it's a long way off. :)
Rakhel
Hmm... looks like I'm going to have to find a way to get together with everyone else
Kesin
Well, in hour 2, I was scanning the crowd for people likely to be discontent with Thrune, before starting singing in hour 3.
So I was looking around during such time when Lia was doing her speech and impromptu-acting, meaning I could easily have choosen to be near that gathering(funny enough, only a couple spaces on the map, without moving, just looking)
That also means that I could alter my hour-3-action ever so slightly, in approaching the walking armoury while singing the anti-thrune song, "standing up" to them oppressors and throwing some insults her way.
If I am prepared to run away when she chases after me, I could always escape in the crowds(not hindering my movement), harassing her while leading her on a merry chase. Then hide away into the crowds, leaving her out of place, angry, and ready to be chatted up or something :)
(May get you guys to notice me, too...if it works...if not, well, at least I get to insult one of Thrune's lackeys - thing is, Kesin is looking to cause some trouble because IF there's any rebels left after the night of ashes, she hopes to be noticed by them, so doing that would even fit into her plan, anyway.)
Flying Jack
Sorry, Hotaru! Jack just had a moment of "uh oh, these guys are too rowdy to arrest, someone might get seriously injured" and is now trying to coordinate the party, which seems to have... derailed things slightly.
Also, Jack's not being super subtle, which means anyone standing nearby might notice with a bit of spellcraft or arcana that he's talking into a message spell. (The way message works, IIRC, only the caster needs to point at people to loop them into the spell; everyone else can whisper into their hand)
Kesin
I think it's a good idea to try and "meet up" in person in some way. But when I wrote up Kesins actions for Hour 2 and 3, I did so in a slight hurry, and not knowing about future efforts of interaction, so kind of "doing my own thing" there, so far.
On second thought, insulting the Captain would probably just put her into a foul mood, and not really accomplish much. I was just looking for a way that needs no alterations of my actions and still lets me get in on whats happening.
Well, I do kind of try and incite people, and I really am near Lia, so I suppose in hour 3 I'm at least easily noticeable. Things will work out, somehow ;)
Flying Jack
Yeah... it's not until hour 3 that Jack is trying anything. But, like, he's worried about the limits of inciting.
Adonara Strixis
|
Oh, absolutely, and Adonara would agree. Then again, both of them are likelier to take the long view. :)
I figure if we can just get most of the crowd on the same page, that will be a good start. They'll go home, talk to friends and family, the idea that Thrune is a nasty, icky no-goodnik should start to spread, and so on. Even if we could lure the angriest-looking guard away, what then? Are we going to break into the opera house and try to do something to Thrune in broad daylight?
I figure if we avoid too much trouble, we get to make our point and look like the good guys - well, gyns, for most of us.
Kesin
Kesin's not experienced enough to worry about the limits. With the mean guard, it would mostly have been a victory for her in making a fool of the guard in front of everybody(alas, I already dismissed the idea as stupid).
But since Jack already established himself as a sort of moral guardian, maybe he also wants to tell the orphan to reign it in a bit when I sing that insulting song about the paracount? *shrug*
Since she did want to get noticed, she'd inmediately pick up on that, expecting him to be some rebellion recruiter/observer.(When she figures out he's not, we'd already be talking.)
Flying Jack
I mean that's a good point. But he was just assuming at some point someone's going to tell them to charge the guards, and doesn't want that to happen.
Haute DM
Tonight is RP night, so feel free to roleplay as much as you like. I'll get a post up as soon as you're ready to move forward. :)
Flying Jack
Alright. I'll be leaving for a ballroom competition for a lot of the weekend, though, and might be a bit slower, so feel free to leave me behind.
Rakhel
tomorrow is my rp day so won't be able to post til afternoon myself...
Haute DM
Will get a post up this afternoon after work, it's always much easier to manage with the book sitting there and a pair of screens to doublecheck with as I go. :)
Also, dear lord, what have you people done? You've created a Flash Mob...
I'm totally adding that into my guide to being a Warpriest of Shelyn, for future reference... 'Go first with a rose. If one isn't enough, bring all your friends. With more roses. Also, singing and dancing. Aggressively.'

I'm reminded of Patricia Monaghan's "Goddess Instruction Manual" poems. "How to Act like a Maenad" includes the following steps:
6. At the entrance, dance.
As you enter, dance.
After entering, dance.
7. Everything intoxicates.
Everything is intoxicated.
You, intoxicated, are everything.
Mind, the feeling of the whole thing is probably more Calistrian. Works for me! ;)
Haute DM
Hey, neat! I'd never actually contemplated the possibility of Bacchantes/Maenads ultimately being pretty Calistrian... but that's actually a really, really apt comparison.
It also makes for a pretty neat chaotic neutral druid concept, mayhaps. :)
Kesin
I should not hurriedly write up actions. Since I wrote them isolated, before Jack started the interaction part, I feel I need to do something to get your attention now.
But no worries, at least I'm near you guys. I've done messed up my chance for an introduction, and one only gets one of those :P Trying to salvage things now, somehow.
Flying Jack

Heh. Have you heard my bit about being interrogated by Golarion's more unusual inquisitions?
Inquisitor of Irori: "Brother, do you even lift?"
Inquisitor of Shelyn: "Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"
Inquisitor of Arshea: "What is your preferred gender pronoun?"
Inquisitor of Cayden Cailean: "ARE WE HAVING FUN YET?"
Haute DM
Inquisitor of Shelyn is so much better as "Just what do you think you're wearing? Blue? You're a -summer-. And that hair style, with your face shape? It's like you're not even trying. Come on, sweetie, we're going to get you looking good. Turn that drab into fab, with a side of awakened soul!"
Alternately... "OH-EM-ESS. Where did you get that bag?"
Kesin
Inquisitor of Shelyn: "Oh-my-Shelyn...mixing primary colors during daytime hours? Sweety, that is SO not done. Just WHO gave you that blasphemous outfit idea?"
Flying Jack
Aww, you're not going to stick with the same theme?
Inquisitor of Shelyn: "This is what you give me to work with? Well, honey, I've seen worse. We're gonna turn this sow's ear into a silk purse."
Rakhel
I can just see Glenda as a priestess of Shelyn:
Whenever I see someone less fortunate than I
(and let's face it—who isn't less fortunate than I?)
My tender heart
Tends to start to bleed
And when someone needs a makeover
I simply have to take over
I know, I know exactly what they need
And even in your case
Though it's the toughest case I've yet to face
Don't worry—I'm determined to succeed

Just waiting on a Lia post. I don't want to push things forward and respond to other things until I know what each person's intentions are, going into things. :)
Haute DM
Nono, you're fine. :) I'll start getting emo when you're not fine. :P
Rakhel
lol... not sure I want to see the dm getting emo...
Kesin
Well, once I get the Confusion SLA-Tail, enemies will start cutting themselves. That's the maximum extent of emo-ness I want in our GM :)
(and no worries, lia)
Haute DM
:| It feels really bad when I spend more than an hour ensuring a post covers as much as I'm currently aware of... and then it turns out to be much, much less meaty than it appeared initially. :(
Also, on the topic of Emo-ness. I'm easily discouraged (and insecure!) as a person, and default to 'my fault' when it comes to things not working properly, unless I'm pretty certain it isn't my fault.
