Istvan Masterson
Did the zombie make its acrobatics check to stand back up?
Seeing the zombie shambling back to its feet, Istvan calls forth a cloud of corrosive salts from the floor.
Acid Cloud, DC15
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
You be surrenderin and perhaps my angry friends here be lettin you live after puttin your pets back to rest
Harold Wainright
Harold hustles forward, his earthbreaker held high (moving due East to engage the zombie there)...
Earthbreaker: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25, for 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 5) + 9 = 20 Bludgeoning damage.
Crit Confimation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21, for 4d6 + 18 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 4) + 18 = 33 *ADDITIONAL* Bludgeoning damage.
...Crushing its skull into its ribcage, and pounding the resultant torso to paste against the unyielding stone floor.
Now *that* was a crit ;-)
Talia Virn
Moving just behind Parnel to get a better angle, Talia takes out two arrows and fires them in quick succession over the protecting zombie, trying to touch the necromancer
5' step then full round attack with rapid shot
Bow attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 2 + 2 = 20, damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
Bow attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 - 2 + 2 = 25, damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8
Assuming Filge has soft cover from the zombie, his AC is now 21
The first arrow graze the man's head while the second one buries into his arm.
Elvar then the zombies
Elvar Potter
Following Harolds lead, Elvar steps around the column with his longsword in hand and, stepping onto the stairs, takes a swipe at the zombie at the top of the stairs...
2h attack w. arcane strike and luck: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 25, dmag: 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 11
Critical Confirmation: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 20, dmg: 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 10
21 dmg to the zombie not in the acid cloud, man! I should have targeted it instead.
...hitting it squarely in a downward strike on the shoulder the sword cleaves through flesh and bone, coming to a stop in the middle of it's chest. Ripping the sword free, a chunk of flesh seems to have stuck to the blade. Blinking at in amazement Elvar realizes it's the things rotting heart that he pulled out of the zombies chest but, though near it's end, the zombie keeps coming. It was already dead, organs didn't seem to matter much to the unholy creature.
GM Fanguar
@Talia: Soft cover, yup,
crits for everybody!!
In a whirlwind of violence, Harold crushes the un-life from one of the zombies and Elvar nearly puts down another. Talia's arrows keep the necromancer pinned down.
Zombie vs Parnel: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Miss
Zombie vs Elvar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22Hit
Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Unperturbed by the loss of its heart, the zombie that Elvar had nearly dismembered lashes out with its metal pipe, clipping the man on the shoulder.
The wizard lets out a cry of dispair as Harold crushes the zombie,
"You barbarian, do you know how expensive these things are to replace?"
Ranged touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
STR damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 DC14 Fort save for half
With a word and a gesture, a ray of sickly light flies from the wizard's finger tips, striking Harold in the chest and causing waves of weakness to wash over the paladin. His spell casting done, he puts a one of the pillars between him and Talia.

You guys are up.
Harold Wainright
"St Cuthbert, protect me!"
Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18.
Harold draws resolve from his proclamation, and, although some of the strength leaves his body, it is not enough to seriously weaken him.
He then moves around the pillar to assist Elvar with the injured zombie...
Earthbreaker: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20, for 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 4) + 7 = 17 Bludgeoning damage.
...taking advantage of its injured state to smash it to the ground, crushing the unlife from it, despite its highly resistant undead flesh.
Elvar Potter
Flinching as Harold's earthbreaker squashes the zombie to the ground Elvar turns his attention to the next one in line, the one Parnel was fighting in the grease. Still holding his sword in both hands he, again, swings at a zombie...
attack, same as before + flank: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 25, dmg: 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 6
...catching it from behind Elvar cuts a long, deep, gash through it's tough skin across it's back.
Luck used 2/8 rnds.
Talia Virn
Trying to find a line of fire, Talia moves around the greased area to stand just up the stairs leading to the central platform. Glimpsing a bit of the necromancer hiding behind the column, she aims carefully and let another arrow fly.
Bow attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 2 = 26, damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Once again, the arrow finds its mark, grazing the pillar before burying itself deeply into the target's thigh.
GM Fanguar
Parnel attack: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8 (miss)
Fort save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 (sickened)
Stabilization DC13: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 - 2 = 19
Talia's arrow sinks deep into the wizard's side and he sinks to the ground with a sigh. (-3 hp, stable)
The two remaining zombies continue to follow their master's final orders. One swings at Elvar and the other charges the bard from the other side, drawing an AOO from Harold, who strikes a vicious blow to the zombie.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Harold AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage AoO: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 5) + 7 = 15
Attack 2(flank, Charge): 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 18
Damage 2: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
(16 damage to Elvar)

Harold Wainright
Harold winces as the zombies begin to shred Elvar, but gamely takes a swing at the closest one...
Earthbreaker: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9, for 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 = 14 Bludgeoning damage.
...his weakened blow glancing off the pillar adjacent to the zombie, rather than hitting it.
Talia Virn
Talia steps behind Harold to get a clearer path on the zombie between Parnel and Elvar and release two arrows, hitting her target both times.
bow attack with PBS and Rapid shot
1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 - 2 + 1 = 24, damage 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7
1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 - 2 + 1 = 22, damage 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10
Talia Virn
Obviously realizing he is not much use with a blade. Parnell bends over at the waist and empties his stomach.
Hector stands ready to defend his master if required.
Parnel, I don't think you are sickened, it's the necromancer that was, due to Istvan's cloud.
GM Fanguar
DMPC:Elvar uses a withdrawal action to move across the room and away from the enemies.
Filge: hp -3(stable)/20 AC 17/12/15 F+2/R+3/W+4
Zombies: hp 7/29, dead/29, dead/29, 32/42
AC 16/10/16 F+2/R+2/W+5
Attack Parnel: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Attack Harold: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
The zombies flail around, but fail to connect with their wild swings.
You guys are up again.
Harold Wainright
Earthbreaker: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11, for 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 4) + 7 = 17 Bludgeoning damage.
Calling on St Cuthbert, Harold swings his Earthbreaker mightily, but the blow glances off the zombie's preternaturally thick hide.
Talia Virn
Talia aims again for the zombie attacking Parnel
bow attack with PBS and Rapid shot
attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 2 + 1 = 23, damage 1: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7
attack 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 - 2 + 1 = 10, damage 2: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4
[/ooc]
The first attack hits but the arrow barely penetrates the zombie's thick hide while the second shatters into the pillar.
Parnel Grunt
Parnel encouraged by the chunks of rotting flesh cleaved off by his last swings, slashes away again.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Scimitar Flanking
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Damage
And realizes that he has his scimitar turned with the back of the blade slashing instead of the front. If that had hit him, it would have hurt. I really put some umph behind that one.
GM Fanguar
Appears that way, I sent him a PM several days ago an haven't heard a reply, we'll just continue without him, the four of you should be more than capable of handling any future encounters. Also, just FYI, I've been pretty bogged down with work lately and will probably be pretty flaky for the next month or so, but rest assured, I have no plans of abandoning the campaign.
Filge: hp -3(stable)/20 AC 17/12/15 F+2/R+3/W+4
Zombies: hp 5/29, dead/29, dead/29, 32/42
AC 16/10/16 F+2/R+2/W+5
Attack Parnel: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Attack Harold: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
One zombie's wild swing misses Parnel completely, while Harold's armour easily deflects the other's blow.
You guys are up. Let's hope for some better rolls.
Talia Virn
Talia aims again for the zombie attacking Parnel
bow attack with PBS and Rapid shot
attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 2 + 1 = 20, damage 1: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6
attack 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 - 2 + 1 = 21, damage 2: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11
Both arrow strike the zombie, the second one deep enough to send it crashing down.
Parnel's zombie is down
Harold Wainright
Deciding that thinning the 'zombie herd' is probably the party's best bet, Harold steps forward (5' step SW of his current position)...
Earthbreaker: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23, for 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 1) + 7 = 13 Bludgeoning damage.
...and delivers a punishing blow to the heavily injured zombie, shattering ribs and crushing it to the ground, where it lies, unmoving.
"Just one more to go!"
Parnel Grunt
I'm not sure looking at the map where the other zombie is...has it been moved???, so I'll just say Parnell is moving and attacking. If they're all gone then he'll move towards the dying necromancer.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Scimitar Attack
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 slashing damage
GM Fanguar
Filge: hp -3(stable)/20 AC 17/12/15 F+2/R+3/W+4
Zombies: hp dead/29, dead/29, dead/29, 17/42
AC 16/10/16 F+2/R+2/W+5
With you all ganging up it, the remaining zombie staggeres beneath your combined assault, but the foul magics animating it still persist and it lands a wicked blow on Harold.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Confirm?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Damage (Harold): 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Talia Virn
Trying to bring down the last zombie, Talia fires another two arrows.
bow attack with PBS and Rapid shot
attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 - 2 + 1 = 11,
attack 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 - 2 + 1 = 16, damage 2: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9
But only the second arrow penetrates the thick skin.
Harold Wainright
Incensed by the blow, Harold shouts at the undead abomination!
"I smite thee in the name of St Cuthbert!"
His hammer infused with a divine glow, he swings...
Earthbreaker: 1d20 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 3 = 22, for 2d6 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (6, 5) + 7 + 4 = 22 damage (ignoring all DR).
...delivering a solid blow which shatters the body of the undead thing into several smoking pieces.
Harold Wainright
Actually, I am keen to hand him over to the Church of St Cuthbert for 're-education', if no-one else has a better idea. Searching him, and the rest of this place, from top to bottom for any further evidence/loot, would also be a good idea.
Talia Virn
I agree first thing is to bind and blindfold him then revive him and start asking questions.
Once the last undead falls, Talia purposely kicks each one in the head. "I'm coming to hate these things more and more each day. Do you think someone at your Church can give me pointers on how to kill them faster, Harold? My arrows just kept on bouncing on these ones."
Then she breathes deeply. "Okay, should we interrogate the necromancer? I want to know where he put the bones we are looking for. Because there were not human. And I'm curious about why Smenk if that's him signing the letter wanted with him. this thing about un-killable zombies and worms"
Istvan Masterson
The best way to be gettin rid of zombies is to be burnin them.
Istvan shudders for a moment.
There be reasons Istvan be stayin inland. Waterlogged zombies be much more difficult to burn.
Istvan sketches a brief warding symbol in the air.
Istvan has too many dreams where Istvan rejoins his former master.
Talia Virn
Oops, it seems my post was half finished. The last sentences should have been:
"Okay, should we interrogate the necromancer ? I want to know where he put the bones we are looking for. Because the ones here are not human. And I'm curious about what Smenk wanted him to do with the un-killable zombies and worms mentioned in the letter.
Sorry about that.
Harold Wainright
Harold casts a withering glance at the unconscious Necromancer.
"Given what he appears to have done thus far, I would not be surprised if we found them, animated, somewhere else in this place. I think we should search/secure this place before we wake him."
