Oso Legumbe
Oso calls on Kelanen to aid the battle and aid his companions.
Lets see if this helps, channel positive energy and turn everyone's weapons to good alignment for one round.
The holy energy washes out of Oso and each and every blade goes red and green and blue in sizzling divine power.
Elgan Dreadwood
Elgan-Dire-Wolf, with Altai still on his shoulders, shimmers into a Dire Ape. Elgan-Ape then noisily pops the knuckles of both large hands, grins a large canine-filled grin, and reaches forward over his shorter companions to attack the blinded enemy,...

There's a *pop* sound in the creature like when you pull a chicken wing apart at the joint when Elgan shakes him, and it settles to the ground, with more than it's hands turned in the wrong direction, and the brief battle is over.
exp 2,750 each.
Loot, nothing too exquisite; about 25,000 gold pieces worth of drowish coin, jewelry in oddly pierced places, and +1 weapons/armor here and there.

"Aw, crap. Why did these twerps have to get themselves killed right in front of our campsite? Hopefully the bodies won't attract too many scavengers."
So we'll rest up, re-memorise spells, cast a few Restoration spells tomorrow to fix the ropers' stat drain and then... Does anyone want to check out the monster behind the barricaded door?
Altai Iscarni
<Glares at the rat then gets back to the heavy drinking that is so vital to maintaining his constitution.>
Mmmmm.... Heavy drinking.... Sadly, I can no longer drink like I did way back when. Or maybe that's a good thing? Also, Stig needs to level up.
Altai eyes the cockroach speculatively. "Perhaps the marking indicates that it belongs to someone? It might be an escapee from a goblin cockroach farm..."
Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe
Right how many restorations do I need. Everyone gets 1 point back, how many down are you guys, apart from Altai who is as weak as a wet fish at the moment.
Pip got blasted, but he doesn't use STR all that much. Five points I believe, but I'm low on the priority pole..
Oso Legumbe
After resting, Oso prepares and casts three restorations on those who are at their weakest.
Oso then pulls out two scrolls and heals himself and Beldan.
2 lesser restorations Oso gets 1d4 ⇒ 3 and Beldan gets 1d4 ⇒ 1. That should be enough when everyone gets a point back overnight too.

Oso has left one fifth level slot free to memorise a spell later when the story unfolds a bit. Anyone got a 5,000gp diamond just in case?
Long as nobody minds a little deus ex machina now and again....one of the drow had a reeeeeeally nice diamond studded Prince Albert.

This is a big chamber. It's h-p, 1-12; looks like there's a recess that takes up klm 1-2, and has a door at l2 i.e. another room perhaps between the hall and this room.
The western wall looks like it's glass; it looks into a sandy floored room that takes up most of the a-g space but for cells that seem to be 10x10 and take up all of the a-b area.
In the big area, there are tables aligned before this glass wall, and two female human-looking things with four arms and robes that conceal their heads and upper bodies; below this robe they seem naked, their skin covered with sigils. Here and there on the tables perch imps, all of which seem to be scribing in books.

In the sandy room, two green men long, lean, 9 feet tall, seem to be duelling with swords.
There's a door into this sandy room at g 11-12.
On the eastern wall, there's a door at p2, p6-7, and p11.
The eastern wall from p4-9 is also glass.

In that room, comprising q-w 4-9 is a massive, feline multilegged creature pacing back and forth in it's tiny compartment.

"Damn." Altai's quiet for a long time.
"Um, well, there's a mad scientist's lab behind the doors. There are multi-armed freaks galore, a giant eight-legged cat and a multitude of servitor imps. There's also a couple of four-armed warriors in a glass arena. What bothers me most, though, is that I can't see the big doors we're standing in front of - there's a small room, most probably trapped and guarded between us and them. Does this sound at all interesting, or should we let the proverbial sleeping dog lie?"
What are the oddly dressed females? Knowledge (arcana) 12+21=33.

"Yeah ... interesting is one word. Sounds freaky. I'd leave it alone. But hey, at least you solved the mystery of the multi-legged cat taht was bothering our Olman friends!"
