“Whatever it is it’s a tough bastard. Kill it Gittik, Stigmeister!”

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

*blaaaaaaaar!*

Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9

Oso calls on Kelanen to aid the battle and aid his companions.

Lets see if this helps, channel positive energy and turn everyone's weapons to good alignment for one round.

The holy energy washes out of Oso and each and every blade goes red and green and blue in sizzling divine power.

Bard 8/ Troubadour of Stars 9 Epic Shredder

Pip casts a Glitterdust in the rakshasa's eyes.

Don't forget those sweet +3 bonuses guys..

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

With the burst of glitterdust, the thing starts howling like a monkey, trying to rub it out of its eyes, and its head now looks like a golden mandrill.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

looks like Elgan, Gittik, and Stiggy still have a full attack on this bastich.

Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)

Elgan-Dire-Wolf, with Altai still on his shoulders, shimmers into a Dire Ape. Elgan-Ape then noisily pops the knuckles of both large hands, grins a large canine-filled grin, and reaches forward over his shorter companions to attack the blinded enemy,...

Bite, Paw, Paw, Hasted Bite

1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 221d8 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 191d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 311d6 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 151d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 311d6 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 141d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 201d8 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

***Chomp, B!TCH SLAP, B!TCH SLAP, nibble,...***

Rolling confirm for the two paw crits!

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 241d6 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 151d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 301d6 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

There's a *pop* sound in the creature like when you pull a chicken wing apart at the joint when Elgan shakes him, and it settles to the ground, with more than it's hands turned in the wrong direction, and the brief battle is over.

exp 2,750 each.

Loot, nothing too exquisite; about 25,000 gold pieces worth of drowish coin, jewelry in oddly pierced places, and +1 weapons/armor here and there.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

"Aw, crap. Why did these twerps have to get themselves killed right in front of our campsite? Hopefully the bodies won't attract too many scavengers."

So we'll rest up, re-memorise spells, cast a few Restoration spells tomorrow to fix the ropers' stat drain and then... Does anyone want to check out the monster behind the barricaded door?

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Three giant (not really by D&D standards....just three foot long) centipedes appear on one of the dead, and start to scavenge.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Gross! We'll drag the dead guys a bit down the hallway to avoid having to watch the dinner party (or having it spill over into our sleeping quarters).

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

A little purple rat is there, sniffing the breeze.
And a footlong cockroach with a design on it's carapace oddly shaped like a rune of the vile tongue scuttles along one wall.

<Glares at the rat then gets back to the heavy drinking that is so vital to maintaining his constitution.>

Beldan Vale wrote:

Alas, too late.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The shakes recede.

Mmmmm.... Heavy drinking.... Sadly, I can no longer drink like I did way back when. Or maybe that's a good thing? Also, Stig needs to level up.

Altai eyes the cockroach speculatively. "Perhaps the marking indicates that it belongs to someone? It might be an escapee from a goblin cockroach farm..."

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Oddly, the vile sigil looks like natural patterning, like the weird eyes on certain butterfly wings.

Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)

Exp! YAY! Wait, I still need to lvl up too! <grumble>, maybe after this weekend,... ;P

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

right on...

the cavecrickets sing you to sleep. They seem to almost be playing a halcyon piece of Perrenlandish chamber music.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Sooty.....with dead bugs in lieu of puppets...

M Halfling Barbarian 10

"Meh, die easy."

The Exchange

Right how many restorations do I need. Everyone gets 1 point back, how many down are you guys, apart from Altai who is as weak as a wet fish at the moment.

Pip got blasted, but he doesn't use STR all that much. Five points I believe, but I'm low on the priority pole..

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I got:
Pip down 5
Altai down 6
Gittik down 7
Bel down 2
oso down 3.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Alwyn has shinsplints from the herculean effort of lifting his feet. It's sooooooo hard....

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

It's hard work, I tells ya!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I know, right?

Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9

After resting, Oso prepares and casts three restorations on those who are at their weakest.

Oso then pulls out two scrolls and heals himself and Beldan.

2 lesser restorations Oso gets 1d4 ⇒ 3 and Beldan gets 1d4 ⇒ 1. That should be enough when everyone gets a point back overnight too.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Yeah; everybody's good to go.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The rest of the restphasetime goes uneventfully.....in the Underdark it's always night.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Huzzah! Altai's updated and has memorised new spells.

The Exchange

Oso has left one fifth level slot free to memorise a spell later when the story unfolds a bit. Anyone got a 5,000gp diamond just in case?

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

We did find 25.000 gp worth of gems on the slaadi...

Long as nobody minds a little deus ex machina now and again....one of the drow had a reeeeeeally nice diamond studded Prince Albert.

Bard 8/ Troubadour of Stars 9 Epic Shredder

Pip tunes up Lucille as he recovers from his strength drain

"Where to now folks?"

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

"I'm quite curious about what's behind the big doors upstairs. I've memorised a formula that will let me see what's behind them. If it looks interesting, how about breaking in?"

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The space behind the doors, surrounded by the halls, takes up a-w 1-12. I'll need a centering coordinate.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Oh; duuh....the doors are at k-m on the north wall, double doors; pretty big I reckon.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Hmmmm.... Looks like a bit of semi-educated guesswork is called for here. There must be a bit of space behind the doors to allow them to open, so I'll put the sensor in the KL 4-5 intersection.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

This is a big chamber. It's h-p, 1-12; looks like there's a recess that takes up klm 1-2, and has a door at l2 i.e. another room perhaps between the hall and this room.

The western wall looks like it's glass; it looks into a sandy floored room that takes up most of the a-g space but for cells that seem to be 10x10 and take up all of the a-b area.

In the big area, there are tables aligned before this glass wall, and two female human-looking things with four arms and robes that conceal their heads and upper bodies; below this robe they seem naked, their skin covered with sigils. Here and there on the tables perch imps, all of which seem to be scribing in books.

more to follow.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

In the sandy room, two green men long, lean, 9 feet tall, seem to be duelling with swords.

There's a door into this sandy room at g 11-12.

On the eastern wall, there's a door at p2, p6-7, and p11.

The eastern wall from p4-9 is also glass.

more to follow

M Halfling Barbarian 10

OK, this isn't freaky.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

In that room, comprising q-w 4-9 is a massive, feline multilegged creature pacing back and forth in it's tiny compartment.

you never know what you'll find in a lich's basement.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

"Damn." Altai's quiet for a long time.

"Um, well, there's a mad scientist's lab behind the doors. There are multi-armed freaks galore, a giant eight-legged cat and a multitude of servitor imps. There's also a couple of four-armed warriors in a glass arena. What bothers me most, though, is that I can't see the big doors we're standing in front of - there's a small room, most probably trapped and guarded between us and them. Does this sound at all interesting, or should we let the proverbial sleeping dog lie?"

What are the oddly dressed females? Knowledge (arcana) 12+21=33.

"Yeah ... interesting is one word. Sounds freaky. I'd leave it alone. But hey, at least you solved the mystery of the multi-legged cat taht was bothering our Olman friends!"

It's in a book, at the house; need to look it up later; couldn't pull the info off the web.

Maybe. However, I have the same modifier for Knowledge (aracana) and (planes).

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

with these particular chicks, there is an overlap betwixt the two skills I reckon.
