Nayce moves into the room and beguiles the mind of the other bolter.
Move to G9. Shroud on B2. Eyebite on B2, which imposes a second shard on that guy. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29 vs Will. 1d6 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14 psychic and I am invisible to the target until the start of my next turn. B2 is left with a total of 2 shrouds.
Edit: Since a miss is likely on that lousy roll, the invisibility effect does not apply on a miss, but he has the 2 shrouds on him regardless.

It's fine. Easily done. 29 hits anything these guys have to offer and then some.

It is slightly different to previous editions where you had to declare your intention of doing non-lethal damage at the time. 4e, you don't. You just chop away and then say "oh - he's unconscious" as you cut off the last leg.

Nayce, seeing his allies turning on one another, prudently moves away from anyone he would rather not injure and attempts to choke the bolter with his executioner's noose.
Move to H7. Shroud on B2. Executioner's Shroud on B2 using 3 shrouds. Since I am invisible to him, I have CA. 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 vs Fortitude. 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 force damage on a hit and I pull him to I9. Shrouds 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1) = 8.
Edit: If that was a hit... Rerolling the 1 on the shroud dice because it is "brutal 1" 1d6 ⇒ 1. Also Rev, how do you want to handle shroud damage on a miss? Just drop the last die?
Edit 2: Right. Another 1. 1d6 ⇒ 5

As I'm likely to be busy for much of today, I thought I'd post now, with two alternatives. Number 1, if Nayce doesn't kill B2; number 2 if Nayce does kill B2.
Attack Possibility 1
Divine Glow, taking in B2 and H (v Reflex; Radiant damage): Divine Glow v B2 and H respectively: (1d20+9=16, 1d20+9=11, 1d8+5=9)
Attack Possibility 2
Divine Glow, taking in B1 and H (v Reflex; Radiant damage): Divine Glow v B1 and H respectively: (1d20+9=12, 1d20+9=29, 1d8+5=13)
Note: as the roll v H is a crit, my damage is an additional 2d6: Crit damage v H: (2d6=10)
This gives a total damage to H of 23
| Nayce Mernorr |
Nayce attempts to take out Bolter 2, swinging his longsword in a shadowy arc.
Move to I8 and Shadow Storm on B2. 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33 vs AC. 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 damage on a hit. (That includes +1 damage per creature adjacent to the target, and I'm including myself in that. Let me know if you have a different interpretation.)
If that takes out B2, I'll go with unconscious over dead.
