'Another set of clothes ruined,' the monk thought as he pressed one hand against his latest wound, a slash clean across his chest, though mercifully as shallow as the others. But they were beginning to add up. Ignoring the pain for the moment, Eirik dodged a probing attack and then surprised his opponent by stepping in close. Very close.
As expected, the thief attempted to open the distance again but Eirik was ready for that, stepping to one side while continuing his advance, forcing the man to circle to his left. The man's shoulder hit the wall behind him, causing him to flinch instinctively, and Eirik struck. A headbutt crushed the thief's nose against Eirik's forehead in a sickening sound of breaking bone and cartilage.

Hey Fabian, at 7th level I'll be taking some levels of fighter. Are you ok with my taking the Lore Warden Archetype at that point and not being a member of the PFS? Mechanically it's a good fit for what I want out of Vandomir.
That should be fine. I wasn't even aware that it was tied to PFS since I usually check the d20pfssrd website and it has no Paizo specific stuff.
Vandomir Jarvis
I note all of the Red Jills are "dying" except Scarplume. My gut reaction was to say "No" and gun her twice, we came in with vengeance in our hearts. Say the word and Vandomir will do it. They owe use quite a bit. However, I didn't want to make this decision for all of us, just because I posted first. Maybe she'll agree to become one of our Talons?"
Vandomir Jarvis
If the group Is ok with offing her...
Vandomir heard the winged woman's plea, but he also remembered the pain and suffering the Red Jills had caused. He looked at Scarplume, and through gritted teeth, he said "No!" As he did so, he fired an arrow into the woman at short range.
Composite Longbow Hit: 1d20 + 8 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 28
Composite Longbow Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9
Crit confirm:
Composite Longbow Hit: 1d20 + 8 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 8 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 27
Composite Longbow Damage: 2d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 8) + 4 + 2 = 17
The arrow went right through the woman, and she fell to the ground, as dead as stone.
"Now where is my damn ring?"
It had been my intent to double tap, so I took the -2 for Rapid shot. However, if the first arrow, as a Crit, does her in, he won't shoot the second arrow, more thematic that way, anyways.
Composite Longbow Hit: 1d20 + 8 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 24
Composite Longbow Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11
Tillia
This is going to be interesting, and those were superb rolls to possibly end up waisting. I'll get something up as soon as I get home, but suffice it to say Tillia will have problems just offing them like this.
Eirik Clausen
Options, options... Eirik believes we need to kill them to protect our secret, but doesn't want to kill in general. I as a player am not fond of slaughtering surrendered NPCs. If we had some way of ensuring her cooperation after the immediate threat passes... but she could just lick her wounds, spear any oaths we demand of her, then escape the city with her Janus while arranging for a little letter to be delivered to the Thrunes, telling a few interesting details about the people who just kicked his top lieutenant's butt... what's to prevent her from betraying us the moment we aren't looming over her shoulder and threatening from a position of immediate power?
Eirik Clausen
Going into Evil Overlord mode here, I think about the only way we could count on Scarplume's loyalty and silence would be to have a way of ensuring Janus's death if we weren't around to prevent it... like a disease or poison only we had a medicine for, something that didn't cure but held death at bay. And she had to play nice for the daily dose. But since we don't have something like that...
Unless she's a nice girl under a guise, really she is, and she's just been playing tough to keep the gang following her, instead of trampling all over her and her sweet sickly lover who she's protecting.
But even if she is, how could we possibly believe it?
Vandomir Jarvis
I was just wanting to make sure the players would be ok with the course of action, not so much the PCs, as there's no time, in game, to take a straw poll. As a player, I'm concerned what Scarplume's readied action is. Fortune favors the bold though! Ok, votes from Tillia and Caleb?
Tillia
Tillia moved up with the surrender of Scarplume and stopped in front of her. She looked at the Strix woman with sympathy and said, "I can't say anything on their behalf but if you want your Janus to live give him this, it will heal some of his wounds." She slowly reached into her pack and gave her companions a look that dared them to stop her as she pulled out a bottle and held it out to Scarplume. "I know that, at one time anyway, we would have preferred to work with you but you never listened to us then. Instead you attacked and tried to kill us then took our valuables instead. Then you abducted Rexus, first off we want him back, unharmed. Second I'll offer you a choice, one I hope they will accept, join the Silver Ravens, we could use people of your talents, especially a spell caster with magic such as yours." She paused a moment and took a deep breath, a lot was riding on this, "If we let you live, whether you rat us out to Thrune or not, they will turn on you eventually, it's just a matter of time before you become too big of a nuisance for them to let you go on terrorizing the people and giving us up would only hasten the day they turn on you."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
Wow, that's a crappy roll, hopefully giving her the cure light potion of mine will help. If she resfuses to agree we'll go from there, at least this way we have a viable hostage to hold over her.
Caleb Cage
The Rexus issue is my worry, though. If we're not prepared to offer to let someone live, why would she tell us where Rexus is?
Given when the situation was reversed she let us live and we came back to kill her, why wouldn't she do the same?
That's OOC though.
IC Caleb is having serious issues with killing these guys, but going ahead with it anyway.
Basically, Vandomir can do what he wants and let the chips fall IC.
Caleb Cage
Caleb picked up the coin and put it in his pocket, looking up at the trapdoor as much to avoid looking at the corpses at his feet as to prepare for further attack.
'Please Callistria' he whispered 'No kids.'
the tactician in me can't help thinking that she's trying to get everyone in a fireball radius

She moved her wing protectively over Janus while she considered her options.
"No, you won't trust me to be part of your team, whatever you're trying to do here. Kintargo is not my home town."
She looked around and saw that she was surrounded, "I do have an offer. I'll take your potion, tell you where to find your friend, unharmed, and I leave this place with Janus."
She seeemed serious, "You won't hear from ever again..."

Vandomir was drawing back the string of his bow, full prepared to end the life of the winged Jill, when Tillia stepped in and made her demands.

Hearing Scarplume's response to Tillia, Vandomir couldn't help but respond, "I believe you have some things of ours."

Edited due to GM response before me.

Another question- is Improved Precise Shot needed in this game? I haven't noticed you using soft cover against archery so far.

Scarplume cradled Janu's head in her hands; his breathing was shallow. She gently takes off the ring and tosses it to Vandomir, "A good faith gesture..."

Yes and no. I normally won't use it but I can't let the archers distance themselves from other PCs in the damage output field. So I may start using it if I feel you're just a step above the rest.

The warpriest was still conflicted about helping or hindering Scarplume considering she had been the cause of her injuries. However, Rexus' safety was more important than her petty grievances. "If you keep your word and return Rexus to us safely before leaving Kintargo, I will heal both you and Janus to strengthen you on your journey. I will need to escort you from the city to make sure you leave. Also, consider yourself warned that if you return to Kintargo or cause the citizens any more grief that you will cause us to finish what we started."
Tag Scarplume

er... no-one's telling Caleb?
Grimly Caleb climbed the ladder to the trapdoor, losing himself in the darkness as the illusory fog dissipated.
Tillia
Sorry if I kind of trampled over what everyone wanted on this scene, I just couldn't see Tillia going for simply killing them and had to step in on that one. Personally I'd've figured once we had Rexus kill 'em and be done with 'em but that's just not Tillia's way.
Nope, sorry Caleb, you're just not that important ;-P

"I told you where your friend is." She points to the roof.
"As far as escorting me, I need to leave at night since I am not welcomed in this city and neither will you if they see you letting me go free. I suggest, you grab your friend and whatever else you want and leave. I will wait until night time and then head north."
deal? should I move on with this assumption?
Fabian Benavente
"You said that our friend is being held at knife point. If we go up there without you, how do we know he won't be killed. You need to come with us until we know he's safe. Then you'll be free to leave."
"No, I don't want to leave Janus alone. Just have one of your friends go and get him while I wait here."
She then added, "Surrounded by your other friends and you..."
Tillia
Tillia waited for a reply to Rowan's question and then nodded, "I'll go then, I'm the least threatening of the group to look at." With that she went back inside and climbed the ladder to the top before turning to the orphanage roof. She made her way over cautiously and looked for the tiefling with Rexus making sure to keep her hands in the open.
If she sees Caleb
finding Caleb on her way to the orphanage roof she said, "We've secured Rexus release and the Jills are going to disband with their leader and her lover leaving the city for good. I'm going to get Rexus and I want you nearby, but out of sight, in case there is trouble."
Upon finding Rexus
When she found Rexus she said to his captor, "We've beaten your boss and come to a deal with her, she has agreed to release Rexus to us unharmed and leave the city in eschange for her life and those of her surviving men. Please release Rexus to me now and you can leave unharmed, you have my word."

Action 1
Tillia returned Rexus hug gently and saw the young tiefling girl who was preparing to jump in her fear over his shoulder. She called out to girl, "Wait, please, my name's Tillia and you don't have to be afraid. I don't have any intention of harming you. Your boss is going to be leaving town but that doesn't mean you have to be on your own now, I can find work for you as well as food and a roof over your head. In exchange all I want you to do is help us as a member of the Silver Ravens."
As they retrieve their stolen gear from the first encounter.
Tillia found her cloak easily and quickly donned it once again. She also tracked down her dagger, crossbow, and her bag from before. She also looked carefully for a feather that would have belonged to Scarplume.
Take 20 for a 21.
I think that's all that I lost to them but I will double check after work tomorrow.
Action 2

She then grunts and raises dust as she hits the street in a roll. She is off and running.

Tillia considered the question and then said, "Be at the corner of Blackmoor and Dusk at midday in three days time. Someone will bring you in from there."
Just making up a street corner in Redroof since I have no clue what the streetnames are.
Since Tillia's occupied you can get away with it too.
