Only Thomas isn't outright dead!
This module certainly does good on the loot! A +2 STR/CON belt! Woot!
Malleck of Alerion

"Well, the Mitrans surely know now what we are doing here. Little point in secrecy any more. We just need better defenses to prepare for our enemies assaults."
Gertrart aka Blood Desecrator
Gertart goes to the throne. "We haven't stopped them from getting in, but we have prevented their escape. Who is this and how did this one die?"
Xeram
"I've heard practice of using electricity to revive a dead person.
Provided they died only within a few minutes."
If there's no proper sight of injury...Xeram could try some zapping to kickstart the heartbeat?

"Faustus!" Malleck begins to search the tower for their magician

"Faustus. I need to talk to you about some alchemy things. If you can find the time"

"Quaint you say? Heh. What ever floats your boat. Back to the issue at hand. There is a ritual i wish to perform. But it involves a lot of the cold. Is there a way to get such a substance? I am not talking about mere freezing water. I am talking about a liquid that will burn you from just touching it. Thats how cold it should be"

wish u could say liquid nitrogen :P

Malleck of Alerion
"That sounds like it could work... but i need a large qauntity of this substance. How would we go about in getting this? Say enough to submerge a full grown man?"

Gertrart aka Blood Desecrator
"We had an ice golem a while back. Wasn't its heart made of something super cold? Gertart thinks back. "Or maybe it was the alchemical golem upstairs with the cold heart?"
If we got a huge white dragon to swallow you would that work? :P
Also, Gertart can make liquid ice on a 7 (which is below an 8...
Xeram
Xeram ponders on his problem with his lack of sight in dark places.
He looks up Gertrart.
"Gertrart, a moment of your time please.
While i love to incinerate our enemies, i find the lack of darksight a hindrance. Do you know of an item that can aid me with this problem?"
Gertrart aka Blood Desecrator
Gertart looks at the human with what he hopes is a poker face & tries not to look at the walls instead. Ahh right Xeram is from a different place.
"Yes," he finally says.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
...."You are thinking of something simple on purpose, it's written on your face.
I mean some magical item, i can wear, that will let me see in the dark, like the rest of you can."
Really....i've seen people try to weasel their way out of deals and city patrols, it shows obviously.
Gertrart aka Blood Desecrator
>:) I'm sure Gertart knows better than I do. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16 At what level will you gain your own? A couple potions of darkvision should suffice if it's soon. My favorite are ioun torch and the mantis mask, but that is mostly for the flavor. :)

"Nice shot Xeram! Was it carrying any coconuts?"
Xeram
"Hmm? No, that would be ... Xeram sees a laden swallow.
<ZAP!>....
A laden swallow falls down. Incidentally as Faustus was passing by....
Xeram continues to flak down some more seagulls, and within half an hour, he has shot down two dozen of them.
"Now, where did that cook of ours go?"

29 posts of great roleplaying!
Ok, everyone leveled up? Geared up? Ready to step on towards world domination?

Gertart goes to the throne. "We haven't stopped them from getting in, but we have prevented their escape. Who is this and how did this one die?"
Gertart scratches his head remembering how well his trap worked. Don't want this to get missed in the flurry of posts. (And ready :)
Grymp
Oh, he was another of the Vets, who got caught in the mancatcher trap, and died to the Explosive Runes trap that was placed there. Wasn't there also some poison involved?
But, yes, he died in the capture trap that had been placed.

Week 16
Your food supply is getting short. You've received no messages or resupply from town in weeks. Every messenger you have sent has disappeared into the gloomy forest and never returned.
Morale is low among your hired hands, a couple have gotten into fights over the dwindling supplies.
Xeram
With a few of the followers in a fight, Xermam lets some of his lightning cantrips fly at them, to shock them once and get their attention.
In a voice cold and angry, he glares at them.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
"And what do you think you are doing?
Stop acting like a pack of rabid dogs!
We have held our ground so far, and we shall keep holding our ground. Even if it means we venture out ourselves."
Xeram will flak down more seagulls to add to provisions.
Later though, he talks to the others, about their problem at hand.
"It has without a doubt come to your attention, that food supplies have dropped to low amounts. As we've sent messengers into the woods, and they have not returned, i will assume something or someone got to them.
That leaves me the impression there is something that needs to be killed."
Gertrart aka Blood Desecrator
"Killed or converted. The trick is how to find it. Are we besieged from farther away than a wall? Or is it just that It has found our route? Is magic also being prevented? I think our first course should be to open up a route one way or the other, but we will probably need to get into town and see what sort of opposition has arisen since we started the ritual. If we are lucky the two are not related."
Do we have a way to contact the cardinal or Thiadora with updates?
Taeral
"I am in agreement, we need to find out what is occurring outside of The Horn. Faustus is knowledgeable of the ritual, so I will command him to remain here in our absence."
Faustus of Ghastenhall
Before I forget again and not post the spellcraft check for the Darkland Goggles. Xeram, it cost 10,000gp and your assistance for 5 days.
Spellcraft DC25: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (8) + 23 = 31
Gertrart aka Blood Desecrator
"It may not be the Mitrans. Other powers exist. Who among us can say what we woke up?"
potion of fox's cunning available yes Faustus?
Gertrart aka Blood Desecrator
After studying the where and when of the disappearances, Gertart decides on the most likely spot to begin the search. "Can you ask the imps to scout this area?"
-Mordecai-
"Sigh... what good is it to be an agent of evil, if you can't trust your minions even to fetch food supplies. Let's head to the town - maybe we'll draw out the one attacking our messengers. And if not, then at least we can haul in the supplies."
Bapho
Assuming the party heads to the town, or out to the woods..
"I'll fly before you, so we have at least some chance catching any lurkers unawares," Bapho the imp says, and takes flight from Mordecai's shoulder. After a couple of wing-beats, it disappears in a puff of smoke.
"I'll let you know if I find anything. And if it finds me, I'll be screaming really hard. So pay attention," says the same whine voice, but the source is is no longer anywhere to be seen.
Grymp
Excellent, so off we go, Bapho does find what the problem is, and being invisibile is able to scout the problem out and report back uneventfully.
Bapho reports that there is a large (technically Huge sized) sentient tree that has set itself along the path from the Horn to town, and it has been killing off the messengers and delivery boys that have been trying to go to and from town. Based on the number of dead bodies and the identities of some of them, Bapho estimates that this tree has been doing this ever since you guys killed off Jurak, the treant, earlier.
Xeram
Xeram takes in the news, and he sighs.
"Well, it sounds like we'll need to go kill another tree.
..we could use it as fuel for a victory bonfire, maybe use its head as either a wall trophy, or on a pike to scare any who were coming for us."
..."Either way, it has to die."
Gertrart aka Blood Desecrator
Let's just build a road from it to the Mitrans. Or convince it to live at our back gate.
Maybe it can even move that throne for us.
