I'm a 32 year old stay at home dad and author, so I'm at my computer pretty much all the time. Also an insomniac so some days I only sleep like 3 hours.
I've been playing tabletop games since 2000, and I also write for a few of the 3rd party developers for Pathfinder and Starfinder.
I prefer to do block initiative so that there's less of a 'we gotta wait 5 days for x person to post their action cause they were on vacation and we all go after them' things.
However, I also suggest that another method to handling that is when you have to take time away from the boards indicating here in discussion and saying what your character would do in advance, and that way the gm can bot you quickly and with little effort. Or a different player if you want to designate one. It's not like we can't see everyone else's character sheets here, right?

I have no meaningful experience with pbp. I tried a few and they fizzled out in about a month so I can't say how to handle combat. I'm unfamilar with google slideshow but I have a roll20 account. Imgur works fine for me too.

I've been playing DnD and iterations thereof since '82 or thereabouts. I'm a 43 year old father - I work for myself (carpentry/fencing/landscaping) haphazardly and just finished a contract at my son's school as the Community Liaison Officer.
I run a tiny 3PP you can see my entire catalog of seven products HERE and occasionally have done some freelancing for other 3PP's.
As for maps, I think I'd prefer slides or images rather than Roll20 - I like the idea of Roll20, but as I'm out and about a lot, and do 90% of posting from my phone I'm not sure that would work for me.

Hey, the late wizard here. :)And by 'late' I mean tardy, I mean, not deceased. At least not for a while, I hope.
I am in Paizo land (outside of Seattle). Another old man here. I work pretty regular hours as an analyst, but once in a while a project will spike my hours. My employer is good about letting me game on breaks, so I post regularly during the day, and some in evenings and weekends too. Right now it is just me, my wife and our little dog, though our daughter, son-in-law and grandsons aren't far off at all.
I've been playing RPGs since I was in elementary school, starting with basic D&D. I had a long hiatus in the early 2000's from gaming, and found Paizo when I came back.

I tried to find an avatar that could conceivably be that thing's twin, but he's too ugly. Couldn't do it.
Use your imagination XD

Oh nice! I just saw Owen KC Stevens say he made one of your Direlock characters and was liking it! That's high praise in my book!
Aaaand we're all built, I think? This should be fun.

Korvosa is actually... ideal for our characters as well. We're fresh out of the Hold of Belkzen and that's literally the closest city.

"You should learn to look closer. One so easily confused can swiftly become the victim of evil."

Well, to be fair, he said he made one - I didn't see him say how he liked it one way or the other. ;)
I'll have to ask him for a frank assessment. From my experience, it can be a hard class to find the sweet spot for with a 15 or 20 point buy (it's fairly multiple attribute dependant), and harder if you aren't human! Extra feats really help some classes...

A pair of ominous-looking half-orcs wearing the heraldry of Iomedae(probably), one with severe burns on his face and head are a bit out of place, so I'm not sure about connections.
They would avoid the official church of Iomedae in town but they'd jump at any opportunity to face down evil, especially if it meant a fight.
I'm open to ideas and Clydwell is friendly enough, but we might be too much of an enigma to have friends just yet.

He seemed excited to try it and he's had some amusing game night quotes since then. I hope the stuff I publish gets appreciated. Only my first book got an Endzeitgeist review so I've still got a ways to go.
-----------------------------Korvosa is fine. If it's all right, I'd love it if Shotaro has NO IDEA exactly how he ended up there. He was wandering the roads, traveling along caravan routes, and getting directions every so often, and then some number of weeks later there he was.

The Pathfinder Society is perfect for me. Traveled from my home city of Lepidstadt after events forced me from my original path. Apprentice to a local alchemist framed for crimes against nature. I used my skills and resources to clear his name but that damage was done. He closed shop and and I took what I learned from the ordeal and traveled far to Korvosa to start anew!
Yoska Aluther
Not a fan of the PS. I could just be a contact for the Society, besides the end of my background starts in Korvosa.

I feel like our duo might not have a great motivation to join the Pathfinders, but I guess if they advertised vanquishing evil, that could work.
Or if there was some tie-in to our backstory.

Hey I'm only in it for the money. We are getting paid amirite? These arr-kee-o-logs can dig up all the dread stuff they want while having their inter-knee-sign bickers at the highest level - I work for the highest calling - filthy lucre.

Money is a pretty good motivator. Hard to fight evil on an empty stomach, after-all.

Money would work for a time, but they'd need a motivation to stick with this particular source of money.
- they've somehow recently incurred a debt fighting teh evils (paying the ransom of some innocent? would make an interesting follow-up sidequest to exact vengeance on the villian, now that they have help, and easily repay it)
- the jobs the Society offers aligns with fighting enemies of Iomedae (reclaiming defiled temples, etc.), or evildoers in general (basically what Clydwell said)

I just suddenly had a funny thought.
Years of adventuring pass in the PFS, and one day Shotaro spouts. "You know, I've been in the Pathfinders for years... still haven't ever found one." and then when people stare at him he waves a hand in front of his blind face.

I've got some errands to run, but I'll get a good descriptive opening post up tonight! :D
Coeran Medvyed
Coeran stepped out of the inn, blinking in the bright light of the day. He had procrastinated as much as he could, and he had to get moving. He brushed the pouch at his side, knowing that the sum total of his wealth, a mere few silver coins, rested in it.
Now what? He thought. Get a job? Stow away on a ship? He didn’t want to entertain his third option; any merchant headed to Brevoy would take along a Medvyed with them for promise of payment at the other end. But he knew he wouldn’t do that.
The city guard walked right up to him. ”Coeran Medvyed?” A dozen possibilities raced through his mind. Did his family track him down? Did he offend a wizard in Absalom? Finally the guard sighed, reading Coeran’s face. ”Here, kid,” he said and slapped the scroll against Coeran’s chest. The guard stalked away. Coeran walked to the side of the inn, stepping just inside the shade of the building. It was sealed with wax, but he didn’t recognize the imprint. With an arcane syllable, he checked the scroll for a magical aura. Nothing. He grimaced as he broke the seal and unfurled the scroll.
”Well, that was not what I was expecting,” he muttered. He glanced at the sky and figured he had less than an hour. He didn’t know why he was being summoned, but if the guard could find him like this, then they could track him wherever he went. He started toward the castle.
There was no time to change, and Coeran didn’t have clothes to change into anyway, nor money to buy any. As he walked, he checked his state. The same simple clothes he wore when working in the laboratories of the Arcanamirium would have to do. A few castings of a simple spell cleaned his clothes at least.
When he arrived at the castle, he checked the nearby clock. Barely any time to spare. When a guard stopped him, he showed the summons. The guard didn’t just let him pass, but actually led Coeran to a waiting room. There Coeran waited, nervous and eager at the same time.

Trying to finagle us into the throne room in a way that makes sense. I leave it in the hands of the GM to decide whether we were summoned on purpose or if the king just had the page "get some clerics". lol
Kerda the Rogue
It just happens. In fact, I've felt that way most of my social life.
I'm playing it off as the fact that Kerda wasn't the original recipient of the letter, as long as that's fine.

Feel free to transplant us to the throne room if you don't want to mess around with us in the temple. lol
We'll get there eventually either way :P
