Both Ammen and Nellie heal 5 each. New Totals will be below
Zavita concentrates for a moment and places her hand on her chest, to help alleviate the pain she is getting from her allies.
"Some one may want to help the people holding the building up" She says nonchalantly.
Zavita will cast cure serious on herself

With little more than rage coloring the northman's current thoughts, everything is very simple. See threat, end threat.
Kicking up any loose debris in his wake, Braxus rushes at the reddish spell casting water snake and swings his earthbreaker down with a mighty overhand chop.
Furious overhand chop: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (13) + 25 = 38

My companions have the situation well in hand. I had better assist those undine with the collapsing building!

GM Kate |

No, Nellie, you can use your feat! I'm usually cool with retconning things in PBP that you would have been able to say at the table.
The red naga would have tried to cast defensively.

@Zavita=>Braxus actually has 18 Temp hp from his rage, but I only had it listed as 1(must have missed the 8 when I set it), so Zavita doesn't take any of Braxus' damage, and he is still left with full hp + 7 Temp hp.

Somewhere in the back of the northman's mind, a voice pleads for calm.
You don't want to do this. You want to drink, to sing, to laugh and to love.
But the voice is too far away, too small, too late to do anything as his rage fills his him to overflowing.
HA! I WILL DO ALL OF THAT WHEN THEIR BLOOD FILLS THE WATER AND THEIR LIVES LEAVE THEIR BODIES!
Braxus doesn't seem to notice the naga's bite, and instead roars in its face, "NOW.YOU.DIE!" as he swings his weapon up with tremendous power and then back down with nearly equal force.

As Braxus growled only moments before, the yellow naga is in fact, next.
A snap of his arms brings his earthbreaker up in a terrible line that connects solidly under the chin of the snake-like aberration. A split second later Braxus rolls the weapon over and brings it back down the way it just came.

Seeing te naga's in hand Ammen floats back to help out the undines keep the building up.
Engineering, heroism: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 2 = 22

![]() |

Nellie shakes her head to clear the lingering compulsion away.
"Now, why did I think it would be a good idea to go atop this building? Clearly I could help more here by arranging some structural support."
Disable Device to Stabilize: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33

GM Kate |

It is indeed over! Braxus takes out the last naga. With time available and the structure solidly reinforced, the group can dig into the rubble and pull out two undines. One of them, a woman with long green hair, wears a holy symbol of Gozreh.
"Thank you so much! We didn't know how we'd get out of there. Did any of you get hurt?"

![]() |

With the naga threat over, Braxus looks all around for more foes to fight, but with none left, his rage cools. No sooner does his anger subside than a familiar fatigue quickly envelops him.
Despite his bone deep weariness, he pushes himself to return to his friends, and tries to help however he can.
"So, that happened." he says with a shrug, shaking the last bits of naga gore from his earthbreaker. "How do you think they knew about the orb?"
As if suddenly noticing the two new undines for the first time his eyes widen in surprise and he blurts out, "Hey! There are more of you!"
He looks back and forth between the undines and his friends, his face showing a sudden concern. "Everyone alright? Those snake folk sure where ready to tussle. Is that normal for them?"

![]() |

Looking somewhat offended, "No, not with me around." She the notices her own town, and redirects it. "The questions is, if you are alright, they just pulled you from that partial collapse."

GM Kate |

"Yes, we're all right. We were stuck, but not getting crushed. I can take care of our minor injuries. Unfortunately, I don't know if all the stuff in there was so lucky."
The undines try to pull out equipment from what they explain was once some kind of armory. A lot of equipment was destroyed, but some is still intact. They find a heavy underwater crossbow with 10 bolts, four masterwork cestuses, and a +1 tiger fork. There is also a +2 trident and a wand.
"I guess we won't be able to come here anymore. All the buildings fell down expect that big one," they point, "and we can't get in there."

![]() |

Which begs the obvious question...
"Why can't you get in the big one? Something getting in the way?"

![]() |

Sihir (who always has detect magic prepared, and needn't roll to make that Spellcraft check) immediately swipes the wand. If nobody else has more use for them, he will also take the crossbow (despite its mass) and bolts.
So, am I to take it that terrestrial crossbows aren't normally usable underwater at all? I am assuming this crossbow is Medium-sized, although it would be just spiffy if it were Small.

GM Kate |

Huh, that is an excellent question. The wording of the underwater crossbow kind of implies that, but I don't think that's stated anywhere else. I've been running it as regular crossbows can be used underwater with the normal underwater ranged penalty, but that underwater crossbows don't take that penalty within their range (20 feet), so let's just stick with that.
Normally for me, if the size of something isn't stated, it is the size of the PC who wants it. Something you take off an enemy is sized for that enemy obviously.
"If you get too close to the building, water elementals pop up and yell at you to go away! One time we tried to just run past them, but the door is locked, anyway."

![]() |

In that case, I'm offering it to Zavita or/and Ammensura before it quantum-solidifies into a Small size.

![]() |

Ammen has no interest in weapons
Interesting, can you tell us anything about what this place used for? What was the prupose of the big building and what seems to have upset these water elementals?

![]() |

"We wouldn't be very good Pathfinders if we let a few elementals or a locked door stand in our way. We'll soon get to the bottom of that.
Nellie will take the +2 trident as a back-up weapon.

GM Kate |

"We haven't been able to get close enough to find out! The elementals said something about a prison, but I don't know why a monastery would have a prison."

![]() |

"That Orb was pulling us along before. If it's still pulling, we know where we're going, prison or no prison." Braxus offers up simply.
Then after a moments thought, he adds, "How old is this place? If it's a prison, I doubt anything is alive in there..."
And then like dawn cresting over a mountain, his eyes slowly widen and he groans, "unless it's specifically not alive but still kicking. There's probably going to be a load of angry moldering bone bags in there, isn't there?"

![]() |

Zavita looks at the crossbows and shakes her head, "My hands are far too delicate to handle the weight of that." She pulls her while gloves off to show her curse, revealing severely burned hands. They vary in skin color from bright pink to black to ashen grey. Zavita pulls the sleeves of her cuffs and new gloves take the place of the old. "This is why I try not carry anything heavier than a wand"
"Well I'd say we should go and talk to the elementals ourselves. I think they may let us check it out."
She turns back around to the undine, "oh the leader of your people were awful worried about you. You better get back to them "

![]() |

Zavita looks at the crossbows and shakes her head, "My hands are far too delicate to handle the weight of that." She pulls her while gloves off to show her curse, revealing severely burned hands.
With a pained look Braxus shakes his head, "I have heard gifts like yours came at a price, but I had no idea. I would gladly shoulder any burden for you Zavita."
"Well I'd say we should go and talk to the elementals ourselves. I think they may let us check it out."
"You can talk to elementals? That is really unusual." says the northman, obviously impressed. "Well, let's be going then! We've got a prison to break into!"

![]() |

With a pained look Braxus shakes his head, "I have heard gifts like yours came at a price, but I had no idea. I would gladly shoulder any burden for you Zavita."
"It took me a while to realize that they are gifts." She shakes her head to banish the memories she would rather forget. "But, that is why I choose to use my powers for healing. So that no one shall face the pain that I have had to endure."
"You can talk to elementals? That is really unusual." says the northman, obviously impressed. "Well, let's be going then! We've got a prison to break into!"
"No...I can not. I hope some one else could though." She glances over in the direction of the building mentioned. "If the elementals are guardian, I would not try to break in"
And is this the point I always kick myself for not having tongues or comprehend languages scrolls

![]() |

Ammen sighs slightly, I don't speak Aquan however I am able to cast Tongues if we need it
Planes about water elementals: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26
Mostly interested in what languages they are likely to speak
Turning to the Undines he asks, Can you tell us anything about the Monastery?
If we are heading to the monastery/prison then Ammen will cast Shield of Faith on himself before they arrive and activate his wand of heightened awareness.

GM Kate |

They would most likely only speak Aquan.
Zulfibha responds, "Yes, I'm sure Remendi is worried sick. We'll head for home right now!"
You approach the only standing building. And if anyone besides Ammen would have buffed, feel free to do so!
Three huge water elementals swirl into being. They yell at you in Aquan.
New map is up.

![]() |

Braxus remains calm, glad the elementals are only yelling.
"Where I'm from, that's just how we say hello."

![]() |

Ammen will cast Tongues on the way over using his arcane bond.
Hello, we do not wish to cause any trouble. We are explorers and archaeologists, if we can help deal with whatever is inside then dealing with dangerous monsters is something we have lots of epxerience with.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (10) + 24 = 34

![]() |

"Ammen, tell them we'll break whatever needs breaking in there, and send whatever they're guarding to a more permanent kinda prison." Braxus offers good naturedly, not at all sure what his friend had already said.
He tries his best to look friendly, but his many scars, facial runes and the extreme woad on the lower half of his jaw down his neck only add to his menace.
Diplomacy aid: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

GM Kate |

The water elementals step aside.
You notice that, while the building remained standing during the earthquake, several gems did shake loose from the walls. They glow with magic.
Large letters arch gracefully over the top of the large front doors, while much smaller writing covers the surfaces of the doors, interspersed with ancient, brightly glowing runes.
Ammen, along with anyone who speaks Vudrani or Aquan clearly reads Monastery of Unbreaking Waves above the door. The smaller writing is more difficult to read, as it is quite archaic. Ammen can get the gist of it (as can anyone who speaks Aquan or Vudrani), but it will take a Linguistics check to get a complete translation.
Falehetu returned, but this time as an undead horror, swearing vengeance on the House of Unbreaking Waves for his downfall. He killed many of us. Three brave monks subdued him in this building, giving their lives in the process. What was once our schoolhouse is now his prison, and this is the end of the monastery.

![]() |

Sihir eagerly inspects the gems.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
"Elemental Gems! How appropriate. Within each one is bound an elemental spirit. Cast it to the ground, and it shall crack like an egg, and the spirit will do the bidding of its liberator for a short while. Here is one of Earth, one of Air, one of Fire, and what do you know! One of Water."
Sihir looks up to the building. He does not know Aquan, but he does know Vudrani!
"'अखंड लहरों का मठ' - 'Monastery of Unbreaking Waves'! This is it! Well, unless it is all an ingenious ruse, but be that as it may...AH! There is a more..."
Linguistics, Vudrani-literate: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35
"...'Herein lies imprisoned FALEHETU. After losing a match to a monk of Unbreaking Waves, he used FORBIDDEN TECHNIQUES to create a TSUNAMI with which he destroyed our monastery, taking many lives and sending the wreckage of the buildings into the sea. We chose to start rebuilding the monastery beneath the waves, embracing the inspiration of the MARIDS.
FALEHETU returned, but this time as an undead horror, swearing VENGEANCE on the House of Unbreaking Waves for his downfall. He killed many of us. Three brave monks subdued him in this building, giving their LIVES in the process. What was once our schoolhouse is now his PRISON, and this is THE END of the Monastery.'"
"Hm. So much for 'Unbroken'."

![]() |

Ammen also examines the doors using his magically aaugmented abilities.
Yes, that doesnt sound like a particularly welcoming proposal now does it. Undead can be such a nuisance. Can anyne see a way to open the doors? I suppose they could be warded or trapped if he is such a danger.
Perception: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (7) + 26 = 33
Ammen also scans the area with detect magic.

GM Kate |

There is a suspiciously orb-shaped niche in the door!
The door does not seem to be trapped, but does have a faint aura of abjuration.

![]() |

Nellie steps forward to examine the door as well:
"I'm a fair hand with a lockpick, but doesn't seem much point if we brought the key with us. Let's see what was so horrible that the monks needed to lock it away all those years ago."

![]() |

"Undead horror, eh? Now we are speaking my language."
Henrick will take the tiger fork, figuring it is better than nothing for underwater.
If a regular crossbow is usable underwater, he will keep to his own and leave the new one to Sihir.

![]() |

"Now undead I can do something about."
Zavita then looks at the orb shaped recess. "Who has the orb. Maybe it will unlock the door."

![]() |

Ammen nods, lets give it a go and see what happens

GM Kate |

Sounds like you're going in!
When the orb is inserted into the niche, the door glows and then opens. The interior of this building is flooded, though the water seems stagnant and filled with decay.
This building has no windows, so there is dim light from the outside while the door is open. Otherwise, it is dark.
There are open doorways to your left and right, and double doors in front of you. There are two hallways on either side of the double doors.

![]() |

Sihir enters with a barely-audible sigh of relief.
"Hello, Darkness, my old friend...!"
