Female Half-elf Urban Barbarian 1 / AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12 / hp 14 / Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +1 / Perception +8

Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12, low-light vision.

Sharice snorts softly "And after we kill it he'll probably complain that we took too long or yell at us for getting blood all over the bilges."

Despite her loathing of Plugg, Sharice can't quite suppress a feral grin. Finally, something she can hit. She nods at Renzuran and stalks down the stairs with slow, deliberate yet delicate steps, her curve blade held one-handed along her right arm in a reverse grip.

Human (chelaxian) Vigilante 1 / HP 11 of 11 / F+2 R+5 W+2 / AC 17.13.14 / Init. +3 / Perc +4

Doreen goes to Plugg and asks about her musket. "So, since we have to kill this thing, whatever it is, any chance of you guys getting me my musket back? I'm probably the only one here who knows how to fire it anyway, it's just piece of junk out of my hands. It would help in the job. Oh, and I would need some powder and bullets too."

@GM Valkur:
If she gets the musket back, she loads it and goes in armed with it; if not, she is armed with her sword in one hand and shortsword in the other.

Doreen goes to the bilges with the rest of the party ready for a nasty fight based on Plugg's words.

Rolls:

Diplomacy to ask for musket: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Sense Motive to see what Plugg's think of the situation (dangerous, a trap, has no idea, etc...): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Perception going into the bilges: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Let me know if placement is ok.

After I finish casting bless, I draw my weapon as my move action.

Doreen:

Plugg's laughs walks away. By the way he acts if it was up to him you will never get it back to you. Remember your gear is with gork the female quartermaster.

As the group starts moving through the bilges a few you notice RATS! As this is called out they aggressively attack.

From the looks of it these rats were what attacked Jack. There are several all over the place but, it looks like the port peril barley is where they came from.
Go ahead and post your actions.

Male Half-Elf Cleric 2 / Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +6 / AC 17, touch 13, flat 14 / HP 18 of 21 / Init +3 / Perc +3

Renzuran jumps back as the rodent takes a swipe at him. Its filthy jaws miss his ankle by a whisker's length.

"#@$@ing devil!" he swears, and attempts to bring Alvia's borrowed dagger down on the pest.

Dagger w/ fatigue to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Female Human Bard (Court Bard)

With the appearance of the rats, a very startled Lucia SCREAMS in a high-pitched manner that will probably be a great amusement to the men waiting to see if they die.

...however, that isn't all that happens, as the wordless cry is answered by the call of a raptor that appears as if swooping in through the ceiling timbers, like a ghost. The beast's claws are solid enough, tearing at the rat trying to chew on Sharice's legs.

Actual action is to use my Summon Monster special ability. The Celestial Eagle attacks on my init:

Talon 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Talon 1 Dam: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Talon 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

[b]"Ouch! So there you are!", Doreen exclaims, remembering her failure to deal with the rat infestation the day before. As one of the animals bites into her boot, she reacts dashing both of her swords at it.

Full-Attack Action against the rat that bit her

Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Sharice dodges away from the first rat, but her sidestep takes her into the path of the second, and she hisses in pain and anger as the critter bites deep into her ankle. A quick glance around shows that she's surrounded by four of the critters.

She bares her teeth in a feral grin and lets the anger flow into her veins, fire down her nerves spurring her on as she lifts her blade in a reverse grip and spins, lashing out at the other rat that dared attack her.

Controlled rage as a free action, +4 to dex. Attacking rat #6.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage (if hits): 1d10 ⇒ 4

Female Changelling 2 / Witch (Dreamweaver) 2/ AC 13, touch 13, flat-footed 11 / hp 6/11 / Fort +0, Ref +2, Will +4 / Perception + 1

Servi's gaze drops on the abhorred creatures in a look of pure disgust.

Glancing at her knife, Servi sighs and, instead of stabbing the pathetic little thing, seemingly whispers a soft lullaby that echos in the bilges even against the din of the fighting.

Slumber hex against the rat currently attacking me. It functions like the sleep spell and lasts 1 round. Will save DC 15. That'll probably be two attacks of opportunity cause the bastard started behind me. Shame, thinking went that I could back up 5 feet to prevent that. Oh well.

Looks at the rats and says, "I take it you weren't too happy with me killing all of your smaller brothers the other day, well, we can take care of you just as easily." She points her finger at one and a ray of cold shoots toward it.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Cold Ray: 1d6 ⇒ 5

When it hits she sings, "...picking up the bilge rats and *bopping* them on the head."

Wanting to make sure I have everything correct. Lucia can you private message me your birds stats and are you using the normal Summon Monster spell? or do you have some su ability i'm not finding?

rat #4 is asleep:

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

once i get the above squared away I'll get round 2 going. ^.^

Female Human Bard (Court Bard)

GM:
Yeah, it's the standard Summon Monster ability all Summoners get while the Eidolon isn't out, time is one standard action, lasts for one minute per level instead of one round. These are the stats

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Female Human Bard (Court Bard)

Round 2
HP: 3/9

Lucia's screams continue although at least they die down to something that's not completely terrified, and she stumbles backward. Swinging her spear in a rather undisciplined display, she nevertheless manages to stab at a rat with the overly long weapon.

Her newfound friend, however, has more success, moving in on the rats that just bit his mistress without falling to the ground in the cramped conditions, letting loose with another cry and tearing into one of them.

Lucia: Five foot step to end up between Sharice and number 2 while attacking with the longspear.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Eagle: Attempting to move five feet while staying airborn (Needs a DC 10 Fly check) and claw/claw/bite 6 or 5, depending. Fort save isn't going to be relevant - it'll be ether again before the incubation period is over.

Fly: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Talon 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

No-Eyes, despite his fatigue, moves unerringly between his allies to end up in Lucia's initial place, (D,3).
Belaying Pin attack vs. rat 5: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 - 1 = 2 for a possible 1d6 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 - 1 = 2 crushing damage.

Female Half-elf Urban Barbarian 1 / AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12 / hp 14 / Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +1 / Perception +8

Sharice snarls as she dances between the rat bites with almost superhuman grace, slashing out at the rat that refused to die.

Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Continued attack on rat #6 (+1 from urban barbarian due to being adjacent to multiple opponents: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 ... No dice.
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 2

She is not, however, so lost in her battle rage that she can't spare the time to wonder about the sudden death squeaks, and she risks the occasional glance in the direction of the sudden absence of noise...

Female Changelling 2 / Witch (Dreamweaver) 2/ AC 13, touch 13, flat-footed 11 / hp 6/11 / Fort +0, Ref +2, Will +4 / Perception + 1

HP: 7/7, condition: Fatigued
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 4

Servi says, though mostly inaudible amongst the din, "Bloody bastards," as the few that are left keep surging forward.

She stays in place but sings a lullaby again, this time to rat #5.

Second verse, same as the first, now with 100% less attacks of opportunity (thanks Lucia.) DC 15 will save or is asleep for one round if he isn't already dead yet. Can't be sure these days.

Female Half-Elf Witch (Sea) 1 / Sorcerer (Water) 1 - (AC: 11 T: 11 FF: 10 | HP: 10/10 | F: +0 R: +1 W: +5 | Init: +3 | Per: +5 [Low-Light Vision])

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Renzuran cries out in pain when the vermin bites into his leg. In a worldess rage, he stays put and attempts to strike back at the offending creature.

Dagger and fatigued at rat #6: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Damage if it hits: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Round 3 and map

The sounds you hear are that of the last two rats coming out to join the fight and Is that Master Plugg's trying to hold back laughter? At Lucia's screaming... yes it is.

rat 3 Attacks no-eyes - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
rat 5 Attacks Renzuran - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
rat 9 Attacks Servi - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
rat 10 Attacks Sharice - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Fort save please

The rats are very angry and have now started attacking even more aggressively. However only two rats seem to come out of the bag to attach the group.

Male Half-Elf Cleric 2 / Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +6 / AC 17, touch 13, flat 14 / HP 18 of 21 / Init +3 / Perc +3

Trying to keep it at bay with his buckler, Renzuran makes a desperate stab at the creature in an attempt to bring it low.

"Just die already, will you?!"

Dagger and fatigued at rat #5: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Damage if it hits: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Female Human Bard (Court Bard)

Round 3
HP: 3/9

Lucia takes another swipe as her eagle tries to buy more room. At least the screaming finally stops as Lucia gets herself under better control.

Dice and Actions:
First, Lucia will delay until after her Eagle goes.

Eagle: Attacking 9, then regardless swooping over his space.

Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Well, crud.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 ... Probably a miss.

Sharice snarls angrily as another rat manages to bite her, and growls in frustration as her return swing hits nothing but air.

Human (chelaxian) Vigilante 1 / HP 11 of 11 / F+2 R+5 W+2 / AC 17.13.14 / Init. +3 / Perc +4

Doreen tries to maneuver through the crowded space, stepping past Bellamy and Renzuren and thrusting her blades against one of the remaining rats.

Will they just die already! she says before continuing her lullaby.

DC 15 will save or sleep effect for 1 round.

Round 4 and map

Master Plugg's calls down, "Whats taking you swabs so blasted long?"

rat 10 fails:

Human (chelaxian) Vigilante 1 / HP 11 of 11 / F+2 R+5 W+2 / AC 17.13.14 / Init. +3 / Perc +4

Doreen jumps around avoiding the rat's bites and keeps trying to kill it. She hears Plugg calling and shouts back "Almost done here! Come on, you little pests, die, damn it!" As Doreen's blades slice the last active rat, she smiles, satisfied with the result.

Attack rat #3
Longsword: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19for: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Shortsword: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19for: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

It appears all the rats are dead, let's rifle their pockets for loot! :D

Alivia looks around the bilges and says, "While we have free rein down here for a while, let's look through all the stuff and see if there's anything valuable people have forgotten about."

She begins to rummage through the various damp, wet boxes and bags abandoned down here to see if there's anything worthwhile, adding, "A little extra money could be traded to get back the remainder of our belongings."

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Male Half-Elf Cleric 2 / Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +6 / AC 17, touch 13, flat 14 / HP 18 of 21 / Init +3 / Perc +3

"One moment, Alivia."

Renzuran circles around the group and comes to stand behind the sleeping rat.

"Sharice, why don't you do the honors."

Moving 25 feet to A3, which allows me to flank the sleeping rat #10 for Sharice; this will give her a +2 flanking bonus in addition to the -9 against melee the helpless rat already has. I can't coup de grace it myself because it's a full-round action and I needed to move in order to reach the rat, and if I attack it and miss it will wake up, so this is the best that I can do.

Going total defense as my standard action (+4 dodge bonus to ac for 1 round).

"No-Eyes" Bellamy wrote:

I'd love to say:
Ignoring Renz as he does his incredibly complex dance up to the sleeping rat, Alivia continues to search and when she passes the rat, she steps on it, squashing it, "You shouldn't be so squeamish, it's just a rodent of unusual size."

Female Half-elf Urban Barbarian 1 / AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12 / hp 14 / Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +1 / Perception +8
