GM Valen |
@ Maxamas - As I know you are keen on hitting the boon deadline and rushing to complete at least one other scenario you are running by then, I will bot.
Maxamas gives chase and fires at the Talbots.
trick attack on talbot: 15 + 1d20 ⇒ 15 + (16) = 31
dmg: 1d4 ⇒ 3
shoot at talbot: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 6
1 hits Talbot: 1d3 ⇒ 2
But, he misses.
Then, Obozaya rushes toward the former Starfinder, doshku raised.
1 hits Talbot: 1d3 ⇒ 2
She strikes a Talbot, but the holographic image vanishes.
GM Valen |
Map is up-to-date; I added movements of Maxamas, Donovaan(so he had line of sight), and Obozaya
Talbot, now seeing multiple Starfinders descending upon him, weighs his options. Seeing that each them are wounded, he hopes to thin out the number of potential pursuers. Noticing that two standing Starfinders had no cover, he chooses one of the wounded and fire. 1 Astrator, 2 Obozaya: 1d2 ⇒ 2
"Go down and stay down!" he cries.
Ranged attack (static arc pistol) v. Obozaya EAC: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage (E): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Trick attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Additional Damage from Trick Attack: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Hit shot finds its mark and the resulting injury gives Obozaya no choice but to comply with the man's words. The vesk falls!
The unmanned mining cart rolls back to its starting positions and stops.

Botting Astrator per instructions
Reaching out through the circuit "gem" in his forehead, Astrator taps into the very last of his magical powers to throw a beam of grease at the fugitive- hoping to slow or stop his escape.
Astrator casts grease in area around Talbot.
Talbot, Reflex save (DC 15): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
The Talbots slip and fall!
Astrator moves toward the prone Talbots.

How many mirror images are left?
1 hits Talbot: 1d2 ⇒ 2
There are no holographic images of Talbot left. The former Starfinder is injured, alone, prone, and on the ground lying in a slick of grease.
@ Maxamas - It is now your turn.
Maxamas Maxamas |
Maxamas fires another shot trick attack: 15 + 1d20 ⇒ 15 + (1) = 16 dmg: 1d4 ⇒ 2 fail and
pistol attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 5 miss
GM Valen |
As Maxamas' shots ricochets off the wall of the mine, Talbot--already bleeding and in pain--breathes a brief sigh of relief.
Still lying down in the grease, Talbot through the slick fluid in an effort to get away from the android and his companions.
Move action=Crawl 5 ft.
@ Astrator - I did not see where you had a melee weapon out (or any weapon as I believe the rifle is on the ground. If I am incorrect, then Astrator can take an AoO.
Still alone and prone (and carrying a stone!), Talbot choose not to risk standing and instead crawls a little further towards the cover of a nearby support column. Move action=Crawl 5 ft.
Talbot is on the ground and so has +s to AC against ranged attacks except from adjacent squares (but -s to AC against melee attacks).

Astrator |
Astrator dropped his rifle and pulled his knife to stab yellow... and was promptly dropped. Unless he dropped the weapon when he was unconscious.
Attack of Opportunity?, prone target: 1d20 + 0 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 0 + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Maxamas Maxamas |
trick attack: 15 + 1d20 ⇒ 15 + (20) = 35 dmg: 1d4 ⇒ 3 yes
pistol attack: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (1) = 5 dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 5 oh, man so close to hitting talbot
Peet |
Damn! Forgot to take my hand off the Doshko as a swift action, and missed the AoO. Oh well.
trick attack: 15 + 1d20 ⇒ 15 + (20) = 35 dmg: 1d4 ⇒ 3 yes
pistol attack: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (1) = 5 dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 5 oh, man so close to hitting talbot
This is why if you are not moving it is better to full attack than trick attack at level 1.
Obozaya's bleeding seems to stop.
Spending 1 RP to stabilize.
Astrator |
Dispelling the grease with a simple thought, Astrator calmly moves around to the other side of the pole- tactical knife at the ready.
Attack, Prone: 1d20 + 0 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 0 + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
After the attack, the Android looks at the embarrassing state of Talbot.
"Observe your current circumstances. At this moment, it would be most logical to surrender and escape here with your life. Hand over the stone and come quietly."
GM Valen |
Talbot's talents are not enough to overcome the combined efforts of the Starfinders.
His body, overcome by pain and injury, succombs to the onslaught. The prone man falls unconscious.
COMBAT OVER
Even despite a number of mistakes I made in Talbot's favor (see Peet's detailed explanation in Discussion thread - thanks Peet!), the party dealt enough damage to bring Talbot down before his next action. I'm sorry for my multiple mistakes. Your success in winning a tough fight made even tougher by my errors has shown you all to be worthy of the name Starfinders! Great job. (And again, I am sorry.) Will post wrap up later today and report.

GM Valen |
Do you plan to deliver Talbot to Philt?
Will follow Rule of 2.
Maxamas Maxamas |
Maxamas votes for vigilante justice on Talbot, keeping him as prisoner, killing him, etc, but that is just him.
GM Valen |
Did he have the miners under mind control?
The Starfinders find no indication of that. It seems that he was merely very skilled at using people and playing on their hopes and dreams.
Astrator |
”It would not be prudent to build a hostile relationship with Abadacorp at this juncture. If he is stable and not a flight risk, let’s deliver him to Philt and leave this planet.”
Maxamas Maxamas |
Alright, fine, we'll turn him to Philt besides the majority is probably going to go with that, lets not drag out the votes to delay reporting
Peet |
"We made a deal with the Shirren. We should keep it. It's not just us... we represent the Starfinders."
GM Valen |
Having managed to capture Talbot and having earlier departed on reasonably good terms with Philt, you deliver the former Starfinder intot the custody of the AbadarCorp agent.
{{Good work! I appreciate you having saved me a good deal of time, effort, and credits.}} Philt communicates after Talbot has been manacled and escorted away by his bodyguards. {{That man certainly had managed to get the townsfolk behind him. Although they were obviously misguided, the people of Tasch certainly showed drive and loyalty. I am inspired to see if they'd be willing to channel their capabilities, motivation, and determination toward more meritorious endeavors.}}
The shirren's antennae twitch and then vibrate for a moment; Philt seems to experience a moment of bliss. Then, he remarks, {{I have just made a choice! AbadarCorp has long considered the construction of a shipping hub outside of Maro. Such a facility would keep cargo destined for transport throughout the Pact Worlds away from Maro’s local gangs and criminal organizations.}}
{{I believe that Tasch could serve to staff such a shipping hub and provide infrastructure for guards, pilots, and corporate employees. Such construction would also mean gainful employment for all the townspeople.}} Philt expounds.
{{So, what do you say, Starfinders?}} Philt asks, {{Are you willing to help to establish Tasch as a future AbadarCorp shipping hub?}}
Your response affects the Chronicle; due to time constraints, if I receive no response, then I will assume that you agree to help Philt.
GM Valen |
Later, back at Absalom Station...
With your mission a success, Venture-Captain Arvin gladly welcomes the return of the charlatan's stone. He even offers to pay for a round of drinks at a bar popular with many field agents.
As you depart, Arvin tends to the charlatan’s stone, securing it in the Lorespire Complex. Before he departs, Arvin says with encouragement, "Get some rest after your night of enjoyment. I'm confident that I will have another assignment for each of you soon."
Fin
Send me your response to Philt's request for help making Tasch an AbadarCorp shipping hub. Otherwise, I plan to report the scenario around 11 PM US East Coast time.
Astrator |
I would be ammenable to assisting, though I question what value an Android such as myself could offer an organization as, uh... large, as AbadarCorp”
Peet |
{{Are you willing to help to establish Tasch as a future AbadarCorp shipping hub?}}
"I got no problem with that. As long as the Starfinders can spare me. I'm highly in demand, you know," Obozaya winks.
Mustachio Marino |
"This whole adventure has certainly shown me one thing clearly. Death is close to us all. For a while there, I thought I was dead, as dead as the Green Sniper when he shot himself in the head, just like a film I starred in a "Nest a Trouble", starring me as the Green Sniper. I thought we were all dead, just like all of Captain Flash's crew in the film "The Adventures of Captain Flash and his Drunken Bros" starring me as Starfighter Pilot #6."
"I think I need a vacation. A vacation from the Starfinder Society as I work my next film. Wouldn't you know it, all this fighting experience has raised my profile a bit, and I am being approached by agents to star in another film. And this time with a named role! Watch out, universe, Mustachio is on the move!"
Too late to matter, but I agree too to work with AbadarCorp. And I just made level 2, hence getting a named role in a film! Soon you will all know the name Mustachio Marino!
