This is my recruitment thread for the SFS Scenario 1-02, Fugitive on the Red Planet
Full Disclosure: This scenario is being run as part of a GM Trade to help complete the Alien Archive boon. To make the June 14th completion date, expect a quick paced game.
Game Expectations
I ask for a posting rate of 2-3 times per day during the business week and 1-2 times over the weekend, though I realize (and expect) that real life can get in the way of fun at times and that not all players will be able to meet that pace. I also expect folks to be unavailable for a period of time. I will be traveling at the end of May and expect limited availability during that time. Before the game begins, I will post my current schedule and days that I expect to be unavailable or have only limited availability.
I will bot players who do not post anything within a 24 hour period and will request botting instructions.
Before the game begins, I will post a botting policy similar to those used by other GMs on these boards.
Play-Style
Although there will be opportunities for role-play, expect things to move quickly. I will likely use GM rolls for Initiative, Perception, and a number of other checks. Expect players rolls to primarily be limited to combat.
Start Date
Uncertain at the moment. I don't have the bandwidth to start this until one of my other GM games ends. The players are pushing to end by Monday, so I may be ready as early as May 8th, but certainly during that week. I am recruiting before I know a date because this is an older scenario so I don't know how long it will take to fill up.
I expect the game will push close to the June 14th deadline. I will be unavailable for GMing for a week at the end of May.
Number of Players
One spot is held for the GM Trade. Otherwise, in the interest of a fast start, it is first come, first served. I will take up to 5 more players. If I am ready to go and I have three players, then I will go ahead and get started, again due to time.
[b]Still Interested?[/n]
Great! If this game sounds like something you'd be interested in, go ahead and post here with your responses to the following:
1. What makes you and your character a good team player?
2. Do you have the Alien Archive boon? This won't affect your chances of getting in.
3. Are you okay with trying to finish the game by the June 14th deadline? Will you leave botting instructions? Things we can do to speed up the game a tad suggestions if any?
Astrator |
1. I try to be a very routine poster (2 times a day) and try to develop personalities and motivations for my characters. Astrator is a little bit of a Jack-of-all trades- heavy on the "android" side of the spectrum. I am pretty darn new to SFS (this would be game #2), so you might have to put up with dumb questions. You can find my previous run and posting style here: http://paizo.com/campaigns/GMTyraniusTheSolarSortieTier12/gameplay&page =1
2. I do not the Alien Archive boon
3. I have no planned times away between now and June 14th. I am quite happy playing quick and setting botting rules.

GM Valen:
I have a feeling the character I had hoped to play won't be done the other game before this one starts.
Is it legal to use that character before the other adventure is over?
Or, is it possible to start off with a pregen and then switch when the character is available, on the grounds that the chronicle would be applied to that character anyway?
I don't feel like starting an 004 character yet so if neither of these are possible I will just play a pregen. I think I will go with Obozaya.

I am happy to be wrong, but my understanding is that it is would be "illegal" to have the same character in two adventures at the same time, particulaly as one could die in the one adventure. However, if that game has already been reported, such as one played as part of Outpost, then the character is technically "available" since the PC is already reported as alive.

I have an Android Technomancer, Argon-42 that is in an Outpost game. The scenario is not finished but it has been reported already.
There are two problems though:
1. I have not yet received the chronicle for that scenario, and
2. If I keep playing in that one how do I handle having records in two different games?

I am playing Lightfoot in the Outpost game with Argon-42. My understanding is that since the game has already been reported, that it is not "illegal" to play Argon-42 in this game, but feel free to pose the question to a Venture officer if you would like an official opinion.
To address the two issues you raise:
1) Every player in that scenario should be receiving max gold and he boons for the Chronicle. We have not been told otherwise. (If a different outcome has been reported, then we DO need to bring it up to a venture officer).
2) There is technically no further record keeping for the Outpost game as it has already been reported. You character should have been reported as alive and successfully completing the scenario. Even if the character "dies" while the remainder of the scenario is played out, it is still alive (assume a one-time resurrection spell was cast). If you use a consumable in this game that you "later" use in completing the Outpost game, just assume that it was replaced and "pay" for the replacement at the end of this scenario with the gold you obtained from the last scenario.
Again, I am not a venture office, but the suggestions are within my understanding of the rules and, in my opinion, seem the most fair and honest. However, if you feel more comfortable playing a pregen, that is fine too.

@ Peet - Thanks for checking. Sorry, I was wrong. Has the game not been reported then.
Apparently chronicle rewards may still vary after the game has been reported. So you need to wait until the game is complete or has been called.
Apparently a lot of people have complained about the slowness of that particular game. :(
