If you happen to be following the news my Home county in California is on fire at this moment and I am in an advisory evacuation location.
Not only this but I am also a County Employee and am being pulled into emergency services and response.
Please Bot me as necessary at this time; I am unsure when I will be able to return. My apologies in advanced and thank you all for understanding.

Hi guys,
I believe that you have just finished one quest and the GM of the second quest is finishing preparations. I also read Poblano's notice above. Are any of you going to be going to Gencon this week? I'm stepping in to help you guys directly while Poblano is unavailable, but I want to make sure I understand the situation.
GM Valen
Thoughts and prayers are with you Poblano and others impacted by the fires.
I will not be headed to Gencon.

You don't seem to have the discussion thread for Adrift set up yet, so I'll bring this up here.
Poblano may be missing for a while, so I'll be playing at your table until he gets back. I'll bring a pregen, and Poblano can take over the pregen whenever he's ready, and when the next quest starts he can switch to his own character again. The question is which pregen would complete your party best?

I had a discussion post set up that was not allowing me to post to it. I unset the post and tried creating a new one, but am getting an error. I have emailed the webmaster and will get the discussion thread set up as soon as I am able. I look forward to having you at our table.
Until I am able to get the thread set up, should we be using this discussion thread?

I've found Iseph to be awesome for the starship quests and capable of holding their own in the others. I specifically chose a PC with engineering and science skills because the party's ace pilot appeared to be the only one with those skills covered.
I think the starship role still uncovered is Science, which Iseph can cover well, and they can also jump on any extra guns for more firepower.

Jchak would probably be best at captain. If someone else would be better there, she has a rank in Piloting and decent Dexterity, so she can work gunnery if needed.

Hello everyone. Things are starting to calm down a little for me at this time now that they are getting the fire lines under control. For those of you who have seen my little community of Lake County has two fires that have devastated over 90,000 acres and the smoke is measured at more than hazardous.
I appreciate everyone one of you for understanding and am now catching up on my posts as much as I am able to with the limited internet time I have.
GM Poblano Pepper
That is a very good question and in this case I would say you can have him as an NPC for the time being. Interjecting here and there if you will.

Hello everyone I am sorry that I have been severely absentee from this thread. real life has hit me pretty hard. I did not wish it to be this much of a problem for all of you. I can however tell you that I am back now and ready to give it my all as a fellow player, a GM for the final encounter and also your Mentor.
I do hope that all of you were able to learn something from this as well. Please feel free to give me some specifics and positives of this outcome. I will not require this of any of you though.
I feel I must explain part my absence to you but only if you wish to know.
Some of you may know that right before we began our adventures into the Stars a fire started up near my County on the 27th of July. This later became known as the Mendocino Complex Fire that wreaked havoc on over 50% of my county.
The fire brought about multiple situations pulling me away from the forums as I am a County Social Services (Welfare) worker and was called into assist with ensuring the population of my county was able to receive needed resources for safety. I along with my family and extended family were evacuated from our homes as part of this as well.
In the middle of this at the end of August my wife took a spill and broke her ankle severely, both her Tibia and Fibula. It was bad enough that doctors say she cannot place any weight whatsoever on it until the end of November due to the complexity of the break. She finally had surgery on the 10th of September, she went over two weeks with just a splint to stabilize it. She has been out of work and, due to doctor mandated bed rest, is unable to help raise our two children, so I have been pulling double duty for quite a while now. Things have finally calmed down enough. Through adversity we all grow, right.
GM Wise One
Wow. If anyone deserves a buy Gm Poblano you do, That said I am glad you are back. I suspect you need what these boards offer in the way of fun and relaxation as much as any right now. Welcome back!
For me the slow down was more about me not understanding the rules of Star Finder as well as I could have and problems of running starship combat in an PBP. I certainly have learned of some of those pitfalls. Had we been playing PFS instead I believe, at least for me personally, things would have been smoother.
GM Poblano Pepper
Thank you GM Wise One. You are very correct in that thought, I do need these forums for both fun and relaxation from the real world. The friends I have made the bonds I have form help in the worst of times. If it were not for PbP I would have burnt out quite some time ago and never came back to running games again.
Rules formats are always a struggle even with something as old as Pathfinder 1.0. But with working within the confines of play we all understand the learning curve and build our repertoire of skills in role play.
Thank you Wise One for sharing some of what you have learned so far.

OK, as far as I can tell, we definitely still have:
GM Valen/Movruul
Skorn/Wise One/Rig Datarunner
a mentor (I believe at this point this is me again, unless Poblano is ready to take back over)
The next quest is supposed to be Bording run by GM MacShack. Are you still with us, and ready to start when we get a complete party together?
We do also need to talk about how many people you want to recruit. I would strongly suggest recruiting at least on person rather than have the GM run a pregen to get to 4 characters. What does everyone think?
GM Poblano Pepper
Alright sounds like we still have a good plan to go. We can attempt to recruit or I can also ask around too.
MacShack that's great! We will have you start as soon as you can.
GM Hmm
Because this is attached to a GM School, I have no problem with us offering full credit to any who want to join at this point.
Hmm
GM Poblano Pepper
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Thank you HMM I will put out a recruitment post to gather some intrepid players.
And to confirm it looks like we have a a GM and three players for the remaining three missions. I will recruit at least one more player but will see if I can get two more.
GM Poblano Pepper
Perfect! Thank you Redelia.
GM Poblano Pepper
Pleasure to meet you Blibdoolpoolp.
Just a side note as you may have guessed this is part of GM school. We have GMs lined up for the last three quests so you running is not necessary we just want to finish the quests out strong.
If you will please check in at the Boarding thread so we may begin the next quest.
GM Poblano Pepper
Pleasure to make your acquaintance Dax. Yes we are please join us over at the Boarding thread so we can continue along.
