"He'll be fine", the barbarian says with a grunt. "The entertainer is stronger than he gives himself credit."
Taurus reviews the map again.
"This next area is supposedly haunted. Spiritual crap is your department isn't it Curraine? Care to lead the way?"
Adamus Vintersten

"I agree with you there. I don't underestimate anything. Especially that first thing. Learned my lesson a long time ago. I'll take the lead for a while then." Adamus will lead the group into the Haunted Well room.

This room is about 50 feet by 30 feet, with a set of double doors along the far left wall. The walls of this chamber, once painted with vermilion and gilded with gold leaf, are now splotched and crumbling. Unlike the walls, however, the tiles that decorate a well in the center of the room are untouched by the ages and gleam as if recently polished. And from the well a mournful howl echoes in the area.
As he enters the room Adamus can discern a faint, but distinct, screaming voice, coming from the stone well.

I believe the suggested order is Adamus and Curraine followed by Falyf and Taurus with Haris "guarding" the rear.
"There's something in the well. It's faint, but I think I hear screaming. Ready yourselves." Adamus says hammer in hand as he walks up to the stone well to look inside.

Without a torch, Adamus can only see a black pit in the well until Haris approaches with his flaming bone. Momentarily blinded by the flame, Adamus doesn't see the strange sight that Haris does.
The well seems empty at first glance, ending in rubble about 20 feet down. Then Haris notices a strange swirling in the dust within as it stirs and begins rising towards the top, the faint scream reported by Adamus growing louder as it does.

In that case, Adamus will just draw and drink a potion of CLW. After that he will wait for his allies to summon the courage to bring light.

With Curraine's channel, Adamus is full now.

In frantic motion, Haris pulls his cord of fifty-foot silk rope out. Panting as he works, "My uncle told me stories about this! On a treasure hunt, he got nabbed by the Aspis on a remote island! They opened some a gold relic box! First, there was swirling dust, then there were spirits flying all around, then everyone got a lightning bolt up their arses! He only survived because he didn't look! One eye opened, holding on to one end of the life line, he flings the wod of rope into the well.

Since when do you need line of sight for channel energy? I'm pretty sure channel negative energy works around corners. Also, I don't know why the pressence of light would be a factor in Channeling Energy. Isn't there enough light with the torches that are burning that Curraine can't see with his Elven eyes? Either way, I did say I approached the well and then asked Adamus if he was ok.

Core Rulebook, pg. 40: CHANNEL ENERGY
Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric.
Core Rulebook, pg. 214: BURST, EMANATION, OR SPREAD
A burst spell affects whatever it catches in its area, including creatures that you can't see. It can't affect creatures with total cover from its point of origin (in other words, its effects don't extend around corners). The default shape for a burst is a sphere, but some burst spells are specifically described as cone-shaped. A burst's area defines how far from the point of origin the spell's effect extends.
Core Rulebook, pg. 215: LINE OF EFFECT
A burst, cone, cylinder, or emanation spell affects only an area, creature, or object to which it has line of effect from its origin (a spherical burst's center point, a cone-shaped burst's starting point, a cylinder's circle, or an emanation's point of origin).
LONG STORY SHORT:
A channeled energy burst radiates on a 3-dimensional, hemispherical, 360-degree line of effect centered on the cleric and stopping at the floor or ground (unless light/energy can pass through said floor or ground, then assume a full spherical effect). It would not pass through a solid wall, but it would pass through a fence, a window, a portal, or even an arrow slit. Basically, if light can shine upon it, it can be affected. If not, then no effect.
I should have said that channel energy requires line of effect, not line of sight, but the problem remains. Curraine could probably heal him with channel energy, but only if he leaned out over the well. Elven low-light vision let's him see double the normal distance from the light source, not from himself, which means he can see about 5 feet down the well from the light of Falyf's torch which is back at the door to the room. How would you like to proceed?

I'm going to assume that Curraine hesitates to get too close to the well for now.
For the sake of time lets's say that it takes a few throws, but Haris eventually gets the rope to drop into the well. Adamus, effectively blind, can attempt to climb it if he likes, though the DC is 15. Keep in mind failure by 5 or more results in a fall from a random height.

Adamus clambers up over the edge of the well and sees his companions holding the rope from a safe distance. Curraine channels energy and heals the remainder of his bumps and bruises, along with any damage the others currently suffer from. Although he couldn't see much at the bottom of the well, a look around the area there doesn't reveal anything else in the room.

"I don't know what came over me. All I remember is looking into the well, and then I was on the bottom of it. In any case, we should move on." Adamus leads the party into the next room. The kobold room, I think. I wonder what could be in there. :)

Moving on, the party enters an aged gallery. Its once-decorated walls have been stripped of the original mosaics and its decorations replaced with graffiti, crudely etched into the walls. Other than the scrawl on the walls, the chamber is noticeably cleaner and less dusty than the dungeon’s other rooms.
In the center of the room a group of four kobolds argue like a pack of barking dogs. One of them facing the direction of the door perks up as Adamus and Taurus enter and alerts the others with a startled screech.
Falyf recognizes the graffiti as crude words written in draconic, and understands the gist of the Kobolds arguement - They are not happy with their situation, and seem to be blaming their problems on something called the "Fire Speaker".

The kobolds ready their crude weapons and gather in a defensive group, but don't initiate an attack. After a moment one of them yips curiously to another one, which growls a short reply that causes a third to bark angrily at them both.
Kobold 1: Why haven't they attacked us?
Kobold 2: If they are like the last one, they are probably deciding which of us to eat first. Karug is fat, I vote we give him to them.
Kobold 3: Hey, you shut up!

Falyf smiles as he hears them speak. "They are talking about us deciding which of them we want to eat first." he confers back to them. Turning to the kobolds, he alks to them in draconic: "We don't want to attack you, you seem to have a problem, so, we are just investigating the ruins - and if you help us, we could help you with your problems."

"Problems?" Asks the fat Kobold in a surprised squeak. "How do you know about our problems, elf? You using magics? We should tell them to sod off!"
"You're fat AND stupid." The second kobold retorts, pushing the fat kobold. "He heard us talking and knows our language, idiot. Tiamat's fourteen teets, you're the reason everyone thinks we are dumb."
Turning to Falyf with a guarded look, he asks. "Why should we trust you with kobold business?"
Please give me a diplomacy check with Falyf's reply.
