Back at the market, Mel tracks down a scroll vendor and buys 3 scrolls of identify. Since these three items have proven elusive, Mel asks for a guidance before each casting and looks for assistance from the others.

Upon seeing the creatures climbing out of the dirt, Mel's first reaction is to jump back but he does not. The combination of his magus training and the guilt from running in the first battle holds him steady. He hums an arcane charge into his rapier and then launches into spell combat, casting burning hands to cover most of the creatures and striking out with his rapier.

I'm fine with whatever buffs that would have been cast before the first klar was placed down.

Mel, if you used the Identify scrolls on those items, then you are missing the extra +10 to Spellcraft that the spell gives you.

Valik's punch rolls off the creature's hard shell without penetrating it.

Melufiuos identifies these creatures as elemental outsiders known as crysmals. He recalls that they are immune to cold and fire and resist electricity. They are also immune to critical hits and sneak attacks. These crysmals are also a size larger than typically encountered.

Feel free to change your actions, Mel.

Oh yeah, I'm an idiot. I specifically intended to add those +10, but I got carried away with the guidance/assistance and totally forgot!

In that case, Mel would have taken one of the vines and suggested that someone take the other two. I'm guessing that Ophelia would take the rod?

Mel still does spell combat, but he casts Mirror Image instead.
He does go ahead and release the rapier's shocking grasp if I hit.
Also, he is attacking the yellow diamond, not the pink one.
Remove that last 1d6 from the rapier damage, since no sneak attack. (dang, that was a 6!)

Mel, since you are a caster level 6, you get two images automatically from Mirror Image, bringing your total to 5

Melufiuos casts a spell that creates 5 duplicates of himself then strikes the yellowish crysmal next to him, unleashing a volley of electricity from his rapier afterwards. The creature's hard shell seems to be resistant to both the physical and the magical attacks. It took 15 damage in total (3 from the rapier, 12 from the electricity).

The green crysmal shifts to the south to attack Valik. Both it and the gray crysmal miss the monk.

The yellow enemy attacks Melufiuos and misses so poorly that it does not remove any of his images. Purple attacks Heccan with another miss, but the black crysmal hits Ophelia with its tail. Ophelia takes 13 damage

Red goes after Valandil with another miss, while blue and orange attack Quiella with another series of misses.

Heccan begins casting an invisibility spell, which opens him up to attacks of opportunity from the purple and yellow crysmal. The yellow crysmal misses with its attack, but the purple creature hits him critically in the chest and he loses his spell. Heccan took 33 damage from the AoO. I don't believe he can make the DC 47 concentration check to keep the spell.

Valandil, I already gave Mel information about its energy resistance (electricity) and immunities (fire, cold, precision damage, critical hits). You also know that it has DR/Bludgeoning and no vulnerabilities. You can ask one more question if you like.

Valandil moves back five feet and uses his staff to launch two Magic Missiles at the yellow crysmal.

GM Screen: Mel AoO edition:

Gray AoO vs Mel: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Melufiuos then proceeds to attack the same yellow crysmal. His rapier attack misses, then he begins to cast a spell which opens him to an attack of opportunity from the gray crysmal. Fortunately, it only hits one of his images, reducing him down to 4 of them. His Corrosive Touch spell then goes off, destroying the yellow crysmal with acid.

Quiella focuses her attack on the red crysmal between her and Ophelia, hitting it hard twice and shattering it into pieces.

Ophelia and Valik are up. There are 6 crysmals left.

Heccan cries out in pain as the creature viciously rips into him. Almost in a panic, he retreats to an adjoining room.

Heccan will take the full round withdraw action, moving diagonally southwest which avoids AOO then takes rest of move action to retreat into the eastern stall.

Withdraw:

Withdrawing from melee combat is a full-round action. When you withdraw, you can move up to double your speed. The square you start out in is not considered threatened by any opponent you can see, and therefore visible enemies do not get attacks of opportunity against you when you move from that square. Invisible enemies still get attacks of opportunity against you, and you can’t withdraw from combat if you’re blinded. You can’t take a 5-foot step during the same round in which you withdraw.

If, during the process of withdrawing, you move out of a threatened square (other than the one you started in), enemies get attacks of opportunity as normal.

You may not withdraw using a form of movement for which you don’t have a listed speed.

Note that despite the name of this action, you don’t actually have to leave combat entirely.

Valandil uses his staff to fire two Magic Missiles at the orange crysmal, while the now invisible Heccan casts the same spell to shoot two bolts at the gray one. Although both spells injury the crysmals, they remain standing.

Quiella strikes the blue crysmal with her first sword attack, but the second misses.

Melufiuos then hits the gray crysmal with his mace, as cracks begin to become visible in its crystal carapace.

Ophelia, and Valik.

Valik throws another punch at the gray crysmal, but the creature's hard shell deflects his blow.

Free of any crysmals in her immediate vicinity, Ophelia casts a Bless spell on the party.

With half their numbers gone and every crysmal injured, the elemental creatures change up their tactics. The gray crysmal advances on Quiella, while the blue creature steps 5 feet to the east while staying in melee range. They both attack the gnome paladin and miss.

The orange and green crysmals break away from Valik to prepare themselves to launch tail spikes at Quiella and Ophelia respectively. Both attacks fail to hit their targets, but small shards of crystal shatter in the surrounding area, injuring the cleric and paladin further. Ophelia and Quiella take 9 piercing damage (5, 4) in total from the tail shards that miss them. The nearby crysmals get hit by them too, but the damage isn't enough to bypass their DR.

Valandil fires two arcane bolts from his staff, but they aren't enough to destroy the orange crysmal.

Using his wand of True Strike, Melufiuos hits the green crysmal and smashes it to pieces.

Quiella heals herself then brings the end to the gray crysmal. Her subsequent attack on the blue crysmal misses.

Ophelia moves up to the remaining blue crysmal and hits it with her morningstar. It still remains a threat, however.
