Nice roll! In addition, you are able to discern that a bard could probably use the chant repeatedly, but you could use the chant as a scroll of break enchantment (1 use only as a scroll).
Serpentfang

"Oh yes, Vivi and I both like these scrolls, good find, good treasure. Yes..." so we gonna bring this guy along with us? I'm sure we could keep him safe.

Fool hands the spell scrolls to Mr. Fang.
Hanzo Hashashi
|
Hanzo gives the items a cursory look, and then heads back toward the door leading to the main hall.
Useful. However, we need to find something to use it on for it to retain that quality. There are others here who need our help. Let's move.
| GM Fuzzfoot |
You gather together and check the door across the hallway, right?
A large placard above the entryway to this hall reads “Hunting the Beasts of Legend” in great block letters. This gigantic chamber is relatively free of mist, and darkness is held at bay by braziers of radiant light. Behemoths occupy these halls, great taxidermy nightmares such as a two-headed bear easily taller than an ogre; a great desiccated beetle, its carapace larger than the face of the clock tower of Absalom’s Clockwork Cathedral; a massive specimen of chimera, its jaws open in a mock roar; and an assembled skeleton of a tyrant lizard. The walls here are studded with strange masks, staves, spears, and other implements of long forgotten cultures, most likely used in ritual hunts of the beasts preserved here.
Please place yourselves somewhere in this room (the big one).
Taking your attention from the large stuffed creatures, you see a pair of helm-like masks mounted on the wall. The helms begin to crack and move slightly. You have 1 round of actions you can perform at this time.

Arngrim sees the masks move and calls out a warning as well "There! This is not going to be good!!"
Arngrim studies the mask as he pulls his bow out and sets an arrow, getting ready to fire if the thing seems hostile
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy

Fool attempts to identify them and readies a slumber for the first one to come within 30'.

Sorry for the delay - I was just dead tired last night.
Two hideous looking creatures burst free of their casing in a shower of dust and stone shards and begin to fly (10' off ground). They appear to be blackened, bat-winged fiend's heads with tentacles dangle from chin and scalp, and fanged mouths hang agape.
Because you had warning, and they already knew you were there, there is no surprise round. However, we will treat round 1 as your readied actions, and their round was breaking free, so you can begin with your readied actions - basically, you all win initiative. So, party up!

I think you may have misread the post, or else you just want to re-kill a dead beetle... there are two flying creatures in the room attacking you, but the large things are still inanimate. I only put them on the map for flavor...

Apparently I did, can you please retcon my attack to something living? I am at work and cannot access the MAP right now. I have 10' reach - are they flying above 10'?
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy

I guess if we are charging in I will move up and slumber. DC 14 will save. Identification?
Hanzo Hashashi

Hanzo sprints across the room, and slides into an attack postion underneath Durothil's bardiche, and then explodes upward, with a haymaker style uppercut.
Swift Action to enter Snake Style, Move Action to get in range, and a Standard Action to attack. Don't worry Durothil, I plan on being out of your way next round to provoke an AoO. :]

One of the creatures falls asleep, drops 10', and wakes back up as it takes damage.
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Before it can even react, Durothil lands a significant blow, as Hanzo slides in punch it as well. It hasn't fallen unconscious, but it is looking very battered.
Marcus stands ready to react if the other one closes in.
Arngrim and Serpentfang may go.

You guys are determined to mess up that beetle display
| GM Fuzzfoot |
The beetle is burning. I am just going to assume that a century old dead beetle has no reflex save.
Arngrim misses the flying creature.
The on close to Hanzo opens its mouth and emits a load, piercing shriek.
All make a Fort save DC 12 or be paralyzed for 2d4 rounds.
The other then flies down to attack Ranor.
So, Ranor - first make your Save, and if so, you get an AoO before I will resolve this creatures attack.
Hanzo Hashashi
|
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Hanzo is almost overcome by the scream, but his monastic teaching saves him. He takes a step to the side, and down, opening the line of attack for Durothil, and then focuses his mind, blending his snake like movements with those of a big cat, and attains a perfect balance of mind and body.
Five Foot Step down and out of the way, ready for a retaliatory unarmed strike if it attacks, and then normal attack. Swift Action to activate Panther Style. Will wait to post Attack Action until I know if it bites at the movement or not.

We'll just bot Durothil for now...
Fort Save for Durothil: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Durothil powers through the sonic assault, and again tries to destroy the creature with his reach weapon, and does so.

These public restrooms seem to be for the use of visiting clientele. Several stalls are here and a huge cesspool below collects the offal. Mad laughter echoes in this cramped stone chamber. The stench of sewage battles the cold of the mist, but through the haze can be seen smears of blood across the floor, walls, and ceiling, as well as the doors of several stalls.
